I am a frequent customer to an inspiring and talented barber whom recently took control of the shop on crystal street that he has been residing in for years. Unfortunately, the business lacks one thing that is required during warmer months, A WORKING CENTRAL AIR COOLING UNIT. I am not a business owner but I think that falls on the responsibility of the property management company or property owner. How can you say you are a community involved business Baxter when you can not even fix an ac unit for over 4 months. I will still sweat it out with my barber because he does amazing work and has amazing customer service skills unlike your office personnel or yourself. read more

When I signed my first lease a year ago there were several problems with electrical wiring in the apt that was rented. However, I am a very patient person and gave them time to fix issues that occurred like sparks that would fly if we dared to plug in a cable box in the wall of certain rooms. This problem was fixed within the first 2 months of the lease. There was another problem where the house was not wired properly to meters on the home. With this issue the Utlity Providers could not charge us for utilities until the issue was corrected. Even with several other small issues I reluctantly resigned the lease in July of this year. We were promised that there would be a 24 hr maintenance team in the event of emergencies. When a skunk crawled into our basement through a large space in the house's foundation we found the "24 hr crew" to be non existent. Fast forward to present day there have still been issues where the breakers will trip in the home once every few weeks. The landlord was made aware of it. Once again because of extreme patience to us it wasn't a big issue. Then one afternoon the breakers trip again and the woman of the house is home alone. She heads down the wooden steps to reset the breakers and goes through the staircase on the third step from the top. She is only 4ft11 and weighs 160lbs. There is no reason that she should have went through the staircase. Once she was able to get to her feet she then had to climb out. Frantic and in pain she called me immediately to tell me what happened. When I spoke to Lisa at this office she didn't even seem to care and was more concerned with the reason that someone went into the basement. I told her that I felt it was best that we start to look for other living arrangements. At this point she chose to remind me that I am still responsible for rent payments through the duration of the lease. Lisa also states that she was told by property owner that the steps were "fairly" new. Not sure if I can legally get out of the lease, but hoping for the best. If you are looking to move to the Pocono area I would not recommend Michael Baxter & Associates. On a side note the appearance of the apartment was extremely amazing. read more

DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY TO MANAGE YOUR PROPERTY. They will lie, take no responsibility for their issues and cost you tens of thousands of dollars. Horrible experience. We tried to work with them for over a year and got no results except putting the blame onto US. They damaged our property with shoddy repairs and maintenance, when brought to their attention did nothing to remedy the situation, never sent contractors back and then blames us. Refused to take tenants to court when they were months late in rent, we had to force them and then they filed the paperwork wrong and charged us for the court fees and lied about it that they went to court. Even when confronted with the documentation they claimed WE were wrong. read more

The agent named Alicia Ann Olcsvay was very rude and unprofessional. The moment she received our application fee she began to ignore our calls and became increasingly disrespectful. If you must use this service I'd recommend that you request a different agent. read more

I would give them zero stars if I could. I used them to manage a property and they absolutely ran it into the ground. They did zero vetting of tenants so my payments were late (if made at all) and the tenants they chose were extremely disrespectful of my property. Further, repairs were paid for (by me) and never done and the property was completely allowed to deteriorate. They are absolutely terrible. Rude, incompetent and over all terrible. My daughter and friend rented an apartment for 2 years and this company is the worst. The apartment was a mess the day they moved in full of garbage and dirt/grime everywhere. The girls asked if they could paint and they said "sure". At our own expense, we painted to freshen things up a bit. The water heater leaked in to the bathroom and hall causing a very musty smell. It was a week or so until they came to replace it. The girls called the emergency number one night after being locked out and never received a return call, EVER. Now they are moved out and they had the nerve to keep most of their security deposit for cleaning and 1 months rent even after a verbal notice of not renewing was given, not once but 2x and no one ever asked for written notice. That place was cleaner when they left than it ever was. The smoke alarms were not kept updated. We had to buy our own screens for the windows. Things were never repaired and tended to like they should have been. This company is the worst and takes advantage of college students. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!! read more

I spoke with a woman on the phone recently and she answered the phone abruptly so I could understand what she was saying. She got upset because I asked her what the office was and where was I giving information to. She told me, " I just told you, Michael Baxter and Associates." I said I didn't hear you, I wanted to reassure who I was giving my information to because their are a lot of real estate agencies that pose as legit and once your information is in their hands, they continue to call and harass you with listings even after your no longer working with them. SHE HUNG UP THE PHONE ON ME because I said I don't even know your name, what office this is, the listing on Craigslist said Rental Division and she kept saying, "we arent rental division. I already said who we were." I DONT KNOW WHAT TYPE OF OFFICE STAFF THIS IS. That was distasteful and unprofessional. I asked her who her manager was and I am sure she didn't give me the right information. She reluctantly said Kerry. I asked her if she had a direct number, she said I don't have to give that to you. Job security must be pretty stable in the office because I don't know anyone who takes their job seriously and speaks to people like that. The second who answered the phone was just as rude. She put me on hold to probably speak to Joanna and reassure that I was the person she spoke with. It was just a downright NASTY experience. People are trying to find places to live and they don't take what they are doing seriously. It's a shame that the office staff misrepresents the company they work for. My wife and I moved into one of the apartment that Michael Baxter & Associates manage. The apartment had a few things that needed to be fixed and/or updated when we moved in. The Michael Baxter & Associates agent said that these things would be fixed/updated in the next couple of weeks. It took several months... We bought our own house and therefore left our apartment. It was in a much nicer condition than when we first moved in and yet we didn't receive our check deposit in full. If you are looking for an apartment to rent, DO NOT sign with them...they are terrible! read more
