It has the feeling of relaxation like a spa but the practitioners are very serious about your wellbeing. I had an appointment with Cary, whom I believe is the owner and she spent much more time going through point by point all of my medical intake form than I have ever experienced at an acupuncture studio. We talked in depth about all of my ailments and she gave some sound advice. The acupuncture session was pleasant and relaxing yet I felt energized after the treatment. Upon invitation I checked out a sampling of their services. The place is small, clean, soft colors with a nice ambiance. There are a lot of self improvement books and complimentary water and tea. I met with Kira for a short life couching session. I've never had life couching, just heard about it. Kira was warm, humorous and made me feel comfortable opening up. In that short time she got the hamster wheels turning about the things that were important to me etc. I did an acupuncture session with Cary. I've never had an acupuncture session before, therefore, didn't know what to expect. The body can react individually. It was an intriguing experience as the body works in mysterious ways. She was kind, gentle and found humor in some of my embarrassing situations that day. She uses awesome aromatherapy oils and soft music. The acupuncture table is heated which was awesome on a cold day. Made me very relaxed. She mainly addressed my concerns about my back due to a car accident years ago. I had a very relaxing 30 minute message with Kent Smith. I actually found this to be the most informative message session that I've ever had. He talked me through what was going on in my body and the causes for certain areas being more difficult than others. Who completely understood my body as an office worker 8 hours a day at a desk and then as a hobby writer on my free time. He was suggestive and informative on solutions. He used an aromatherapy message with oil blends that made my heart feel like summer inside. The smell was so wonderful. I fell asleep on the table. It was the first time in weeks in which I really felt relaxed on my lunch break. I shut off my phone completely during my break and just allowed myself to escape with the touch and smell of the oils. I had a brief MI scan with Susan. Everything that Susan said about me was dead on. I didn't tell her anything. I just laid on the table and allowed her to do her magic. I just couldn't believe how accurate she was, I was blown away. I found some information about my body that was extremely helpful and encouraged me to take immediate actions on some issues that I've been putting on the back burner. It gave me that jump to really take proactive measures on these things. I got an extremely warm vibe from her. Overall the whole team was amazing, warm, friendly people.

For a work team-building activity focused on nutrition and wellness, we went to a cooking class…read morehere. We signed up for a class that would teach us vegetarian and gluten-free recipes that are healthy and wouldn't be too difficult to make ourselves. I'm always looking for easy recipes so I was looking forward to taking this class with my colleagues. The space isn't large and our team of 15 people filled the room across two tables. The instructor was very knowledgeable about nutrition (I think she said she was a cook at one point in her life) and explained how each dish is prepared, what the nutrition of each ingredient would provide, and substitutes available for ingredients to fit our dietary needs, e.g. vegetarian. She showed us how each dish was prepared and a tv projected what she was doing at the cutting board or stove so that everyone knew what to do. In teams of 4, we would prepare the ingredients (dice, slice, chop, marinade) and cook them as well. All the ingredients, condiments, and equipment were provided. The instructor came and gave us tips as well. At the end of the class, we got to try what we made, which was great. In that class, we made vegan pad thai without fish sauce. I have to say that without that classic fish sauce, the dish fell flat for me. I would be interested in taking other classes with her in the future, but probably ones that involve meat or seafood!

The two classes that I have been to were "Cook Once Eat Healthy All Week (a plant-based intro to batch-cooking)" and "Un-Junk Your Kitchen: Healthier, Cheaper Homemade Staples," both of which have been informative and interactive. Andrea and Ellexis were both knowledgeable and made the classes more than fun. The best part was that got to eat what was demoed or what we made ourselves! I'm looking forward to attending the rest of this series.
