IIn my 30+ years, I've never not had a crown hurt for months (years) after. The next day, no pain at all. I couldn't believe it. Fast forward a few years. I needed another crown and I was actually googling to find him because I refused to see another dentist. I felt like I hit the jackpot when I learned he had his own dentistry and was just a few miles away. Even my daughter (19) who was traumatized from prior procedures, has had (fillings, crowns to a root canal) from Dr. Chu with no problem. Dr. Chu is a down to earth person, actually listens, goes slow and will use small needles for numbing. He truly cares for his customers. He goes the best route to save as much natural tooth as possible and that is significant. Fritz is wonderful and so is the whole staff. I no longer fear the dentist. At Snelling Ave Dental, I have always felt welcomed being there from checking in at the front desk to sitting in the patient's chair. Everyone is extremely friendly and loves chatting with patients when they're up for it. (Pro tip: Talk about food. They LOVE to try new foods and share their foodie experiences.) I've visited here for a total of 3-4 times over one year, and I like how seriously they take their work here. During checkups, the doctor informs me of ways to improve my brushing and the spots that might need more attention. Something that's super simple, but I've never been told by a dentist what spots I haven't been reaching. Besides checkups, I also had a mouthguard fitted because I constantly clench my teeth when I'm stressed. It was a pain-free process, and they checked my insurance coverage and gave me a quoted price before initiating the whole process. Their communication is amazing and there was no confusion. I'm really sad that I can no longer go to Snelling Ave Dental because I moved out-of-state recently, but I'm so happy that I was able to find a dentist that I was satisfied with.

It was a long procedure and the dentist and his assistance checked in with me multiple times to see how I was doing and helping me to be comfortable. Initially the front office had told me that they would not be able to verify my insurance because it was the weekend (and even suggested that I might come back the next day), but when the crown procedure was diagnosed and recommended they were able to verify the insurance (which covered 50 percent of the cost). Visual scans confirmed everything that had been done and any questions I had were answered quickly and expertly. I have had some traumatic dental experiences in the past elsewhere, so was slightly hesitant going in. My family of 4 has been seeing the team at Parkway Dental for over a decade, though, so I know firsthand that they are beyond competent. They actually CARE about their patients. At no time did I feel unsafe or uncared for. I was even given a lovely fleece blanket that proved to be a great calming agent. Receptionist was polite but not very helpful with forms or assistance with insurance. You're going to get taken for a HUGE out of pocket ride here. Finally get in a chair in the back and Palmer was a nightmare. Rude, brusque, and brushed off my questions without answering them at all. In the end, my issue was not solved and I lost time and money on this crappy little adventure in dentistry. Avoid at all costs - if you're in town, just get some pain meds and tough it out until you can get home to a REAL dentist.
