Had multiple options to choose from in this neighborhood, however, we are glad we chose Acapello. We booked both maternity and newborn photoshoots together as there was a $50 discount in doing so. Loved the pictures taken by Amanda. Quick turnaround from appointment to the release of the pictures. Amanda is fast and she coordinates with clients very professionally. She gives enough bandwidth and indulges in talks as well to make everyone comfortable. She has a great idea of photography shots and top-notch quality output. Our newborn did not co-operate much during the shoot and Amanda spent an extra hour almost to make the photo shoot happen without any extra charges and concerns. I would highly recommend Acapello for the professional and very classy pictures for any occasion shoot. Here prices might be a little more than the competition but I bet pictures speak by themselves and quality comes with a cost especially in photography. Two days ago I received a reminder for the session which also included expectations and helpful tips. Yesterday I received another reminder via text with a shorter summary of helpful tips. I really appreciated that. During our session, communication was great before, during, and after. Before the session started, Amanda and her assistant gave me a brief consultation for wardrobe (she has a closet where we can pull from many styles). During, it seemed like Amanda had a vision in her head and went for it. She knows how to pose and direct what she was trying to portray in vision/photos. She is assertive and I like it. After the session, she again summarized expectations for results and turn around time (this info is also provided in her email from two days ago). Her studio is clean and I immediately felt comfortable there and around them. The studio has relaxed vibes and music also plays during the session; no awkward silence. You can really see how much these two (Amanda and her assistant) invest in their business.

I thoroughly enjoyed this workshop. This is hosted by an artistic couple - Natalie and Alain Briot. They were also joined by the illustrious Jeff Schewe. Natalie is an artist in her own right and organized all the logistics and wrote every introductory email concisely with all info needed. She had every document ready to sign upon arrival and workshop packets ready to go immediately containing our syllabus, maps, name tags, etc. Not only is she a logistical queen, she can comment appropriately and with precision about how to make an artistic composition. She has some really beautiful work. Alain was also a pleasure to learn from. I found his french persona and acerbic wit to be refreshing and dynamic. He makes his photography with a true fine artistic eye using colors in post processing in a magical and unique way. He is a massively, successful photographic artist, and it was an honor to learn from him. The third instructor for our fine art photography printing workshop was none other than Jeff Schewe! Jeff is already so accomplished and he shared his expertise with us in a fun and irreverent manner. He is great! He also has a keen sense of detail and an eye for excellence. We learned our fine-art printing from him, and honestly- I wish there was more to the workshop focused on this section. The second part of our workshop was in the field working and traveling together. We went to places I had never been before and again our logistics and training in the field were spectacular. I would definitely recommend joining this group!

I just wanted to take a moment and express my great pleasure and satisfaction in taking several…read moreworkshops from Alain and Natalie Briot. Alain really pushes you to aim for artistic expression. My favorite quote from him, in fact, is "If it is not necessary to be in the picture, it is necessary to NOT be in the picture." I hear his voice (in his French accent) in my head as I'm framing up landscape shots to this day. He does expect your to know most of the controls of your camera. it is best to have a concept of exposure The one star reviews here are surprising, and absolutely do not represent my experiences with the Briots. The criticisms that I have seen levelled are not born out by my experience with Alain. He was endlessly encouraging and willing to teach. He was scrupulous, in our Paige photography trip I took 4 - 5 years ago, in terms of exactly how to set the color temperature on your camera so that when you exposed for the slot canyon, you got a rich color cast with some purple hues. He said it; I did it: it worked. Some of the best landscape images I have captured in my entire life have been during the workshops led by Alain and Natalie.
