I used to trust the white lab coat. Authority, credibility, expertise... that's what I thought it meant. Years ago, I developed post-nasal problems that left me constantly clearing my throat. I felt like I was drowning. I went to five doctors and got five different diagnoses: 1. Psychosomatic ("in your head") 2. A tic ("have you tried stopping?") 3. An immune system issue 4. Allergies 5. Silent reflux (the correct one) Doctor #3 was Michael Morris, an ENT with solid reviews. At first, he said it was allergies and offered me his in-house allergy drops. Later, he showed me a chart "proving" my immune system was crashing. His solution? Insert a PICC line directly into my heart to deliver medication. That wasn't the only red flag. Once, he showed up an hour late and casually explained he'd been delivering a cancer diagnosis to another patient. That struck me immediately -- wasn't that a HIPAA violation? At minimum, it was sloppy and unprofessional. Thankfully, my wife (a nurse) said none of this sounded right and pushed me to get another opinion. An immunologist (#4) told me, "I hope you ran out of there." Later, I learned Morris was formally disciplined by the Maryland Board of Physicians and what they found mirrored my own experience. He was grossly over-testing patients, sometimes drawing 14 vials of blood and ordering repeated immune panels. He prescribed dangerous antivirals and antibiotics without justification, relied on unreliable test methods while exaggerating results, and kept sloppy, contradictory records. In short, he wasn't just mistaken... he was putting patients in danger while enriching himself. He was reprimanded, fined, placed on probation, and his license eventually expired. The broader warning is this: our medical system relies heavily on trust, but not every part of it has real oversight. That creates openings for abuse. Take allergy drops, for example. They aren't FDA-approved, and when mixed in-house, there's no guarantee you're getting what's promised. I was treated wonderfully in Dr. Michael Morris' office. The receptionist was very helpful and all of his staff was just as nice and helpful. I needed the laser to both of my eyes because it's often common for your lenses to be cleaned after cataract surgery. I went in expecting a routine check on my eyes and sure enough, I needed the laser procedure done and usually they schedule you to come back and have it done, but because im in a power chair and had to ride a bus for 2 hours just to get there, he didn't make me wait, he went ahead and done the laser procedure right then, after getting me prepared. That was such a blessing to me, and I couldn't say thank you enough, God blessed me, and led me to Dr. Morris. I would highly recommend Talley Eye Institute and Dr. Morris, you won't be disappointed! *** Unnecessary lab tests - waste of time and money *** I went to see Dr. Morris for a possible ear infection, he ended up ordering nose exams and lots of different blood tests, totally unnecessary. It is unfathomable to me Dr. Morris is still a practicing physician. I am practically in tears as I write this review. Long story short, Dr. Morris caused permanent damage to my hearing after a procedure he performed on me. Ever since the procedure, it's hard to put into words the suffering I went through - and continue to go through - every day. What was supposed to be a simple procedure - ear tube insertion into both ears - turned into a complete nightmare. I've needed to see doctors nationwide to try and find relief and healing. Along with this, I now live as a chronic pain patient because of collateral damage caused by Dr. Morris' actions. Please, please proceed with caution with this man. It is important to know Dr. Morris was reprimanded by the State of Maryland, beginning in 2019, and placed on probation by the State for a minimum of one (1) year. One of the best doctors I've ever had. I've gone for allergies about 2 years ago. Haven't had any major attacks since then--thanks to Dr Morris. PROS: 1. Very knowledgeable. Knows both traditional medicine as well as alternative/cutting edge methods (like Allerdrops) 2. He treats the problem, not the symptoms. His goals are to fix your issues for good, not to keep coming back! 3. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR!!! He is irresponsibly prescribing medications that can cause real harm to people! My friend recently saw Dr. Morris complaining of ear drainage and nose & throat irritation which are symptoms of a simple post nasal drip. The doctor ran several tests which were all negative, then told him that he had a positive marker for an autoimmune disease. He told my friend that the autoimmune disease was caused by a viral infection. The doctor prescribed tenofovir alafenamide fumarate (Vemlidy) for this "autoimmune disease". That medication is for hepatitis b, and can also be used as part of an HIV regimen. My friend's hepatitis panel and HIV test were negative and these diseases are NOT autoimmune diseases. So why was Vemlidy being prescribed? Using Vemlidy or any antiretroviral in a manner outside of diagnoses hepatitis b, HIV or PrEP (Truvada only) is completely negligent and an example of malpractice. My friend got a second opinion by another provider who appropriately diagnosed the post nasal drip and gave him a prescription for the appropriate medication. This other provider even stated that Dr. Morris mis-prescribes frequently and doesn't know what he's doing. Dr. Morris also prescribed something called "Allerdrop" to cure allergies. These drops aren't even FDA approved and there isn't any data for them. Making claims for cure or treatment is also not allowed for unregulated drugs according to the FDA. Dr. Morris should be reported to the medical board for his malpractice. This is unacceptable and comes at a cost to real, living patients. PS: If patients who don't know they have HIV take these medications inappropriately they can easily develop resistance to a medication that is very important to their regimen. read more

Dr. Morris and his staff are top notch. Without delving into my medical history, he is my second opinion after sinus surgery and my last. My other doctor/surgeon was unable to tell me why my sinuses have been acting up post-surgery but rather continued to prescribe no fewer than six rounds of antibiotics (each one more potent than the last) without running cultures, and then could not tell me why I wasn't getting better. Dr. Morris was a microbiologist before he became an MD, and he was kind enough to spend nearly an hour with me discussing my history, etc. He sent me for a CT scan of my sinuses and ran a lot of blood work and cultures only to discover the cause of my sinus issues was not an infection but rather a food allergy. I have visited no fewer than five ENT doctors since college, and none have ever suggested testing me for food allergies. I highly recommend you visit Dr. Morris not just because he helped me but rather because he takes his time, gets to know his patients, and explores all of your options while talking things through with you. His staff is equally helpful and patient, and he is surprisingly very accessible and responsive via telephone as far as doctors go these days. Everyone there is so pleasant. I received a letter from a debt collector stating that I owed Morris for the appointment, which is incorrect. The office took 3 THREE months to cash the check with my payment. Dr. Morris himself seems ok. I came to him for an ear problem, but he also wanted to run some tests for a thing he noticed on my skin. That was nice, i was hoping to get some answers. Well, two weeks later i still can not get my test results back. The office staff was very sweet and nice in person, but they simply NEVER call you back. For any reason. The blood work line that they have setup on their main pone system never picks up, and leaving a message... i already noted how that works. I also found that the conditions of blood draw, which was done at the office, were less then standard. What is the point of enduring iffy blood draw if you can not even get the results? My daughter and I have been a patient for (me) more than 20 years and (my daughter) 17 years - she's now 20. Together we have undergone three surgeries, multiple tube procedures and other lesser procedures by Dr. Morris. My daughter and I both suffer from what once were myriad serious chronic allergy and ear/nasal problems. I have read many of the posts and almost all of them, positive and negative, are fair. But in my opinion the negative comments do not give proper context. This is an excellent, hard working and effective ENT/Allergist for those willing to give him time to eliminate potential causes of problems - he will get to your real problem. After all, it's a needle -in-a -haystack challenge for ENT specialists to be able to determine many of our issues. But he's willing to find an effective treatment if you let him. Finally, yes, he prescribes liberally, but c'mon folks! We are the stewards of our own health. He trusts his patients to understand their own conditions. I went looking for some answers. The last allergist office that I went to was dirty and the nurse had to count the bumps on my back--I don't know--three times? It didn't make me feel very confident in my "allergies". I read the last review by Helen and said--"that is what I want--easily, error free testing". The office was exceptionally clean and the Dr. Morris was very professional--huge improvement over the last allergist. Here is the thing, I am constantly blowing my nose. At certain times of the year yard work is misery--my sinus passages swell so much the next day that my face looks like a balloon. If I drink OJ, my nose runs and I become very phlegm-y. If I eat honey, my lips itch and swell. So these are the things I am allergic to, right? Not according to the blood test reviewed by Dr. Morris. Despite my concerns over the first allergist, at least the scratch test showed pollen and oranges were a problem. It is not that I don't recommend this method--but if you have concerns about the results, perhaps you should seek a second (or third) opinion. Dr. Morris is a top notch ENT. I have seen him for over 20 years. He has performed 3 major reconstructive surgeries on my right ear and I have not had any infections in years! He takes the time to explain what is going on and how he feels to best treat it. He has run allergy tests on my daughters and I. Since my girls found they had food allergies they eliminated the foods from their diets and have not had ear infections since. My oldest was able to start eating some of the foods that were eliminated and has not encountered any problems. Top notch doctor. Cares about his patients. Takes time to explain things. read more

He never looked inside my ears...He just kept giving me different medications and finally ordered all kinds of test... Dr. Morris is probably the one of the very best doctors I've been to, he cares about making his patients well and takes the time to explain what Is wrong with you and how he will make you well, and he does make you well. Here are a few examples; After I returned from Afghanistan, I had an unknown respiratory illness, I saw many specialist before going to Dr. Morris. Dr Morris, who's also a microbiologist determined the cause of the illness and successfully treated me. Another and current example: regarding two medical issues: Initially I went to see a well respected GI doctor for significant GERD and to an internal medicine doctor for continued fatigue. Neither doctor was able to fix these issue so I went to Dr Morris. Dr Morris ran several test which showed I had many food allergies and a weakened immune system. Dr Morris is treating me for both and I am responding very well. My GERD is GONE and my extreme fatigue is disappearing. Being a MD and a microbiologist, Dr Morris looks for clues to the illness using scientific methodologists normally skipped by most doctors or doctors who don't completely understand the complex inter-relationships of the medical tests. the worst experience of my life. Our entire family went to see Dr. Morris. He sent us to do allergy tests for which we are still paying since the end of 2009. when getting a second opinion from a different and very experienced doctor. We all had flues with sinus infections. no allergies, no tests were necessary. He forgot to call us to tell us the results of tests. 1.5 weeks later, we all could have been dead and he would have never called to tell us that we did not have allergies. i had to call numerously because i was getting worst and worst. after seeing someone else, and getting antibiotics we all got better within days. Don't bother even calling them. They are the worst medical office I have ever encountered. I called in March to get an April appt. They called 2 days before the appt to cancel because of a personal matter. Instead of putting me down for the next appt the following month, the lady said she could get me in earlier by calling me for any cancellations. After 2 days, she stopped calling. I called back in May and got an appt for June. The Fri before my Mon 8:30 appt, they called again saying that Dr. Morris has a surgery scheduled for that morning, asking me to move it to 2:45. I told them I had to pick up my kids and the afternoon was not an option. She said that I can then come in at 9:30 and fill out papers while Dr. Morris gets in from his surgery. Went at 9:25 and was told my appt wasn't until 2:45. Then they had the nerves to tell me that they offered a 12:30, but I had declined and said I would be there at 2:45. You cannot tell me that I lied and took a 2:45 when I am a working mother of two and would never take an appt instead of picking up my children. Their office has wasted so much of my time and money. I kept taking time off work and rearranging my schedule for nothing. To make it worse, they never were apologetic. Can't really comment on the doctor since I never got to meet him, but if he is a reflection of his staff he is very unprofessional. read more

Would not recommend. In short, he has a very narrow minded approach to medicine- all disease is environmental, nothing is genetic. He continues to do IgG/IgE testing that is out of date and not done by other doctors because it is not medically indicated and unreliable. He uses this "data" to recommend his Allerdrops to all patients, regardless of whether it's appropriate. He treated my father for over a year as my Dad continued to get sicker and sicker. Why? Because he had cancer that Dr. Morris failed to diagnose despite it being the most common blood cancer and typical signs include immune dysregulation. When I sent him to a different immunologist for a second opinion, the doctor immediately was suspicious and made the diagnosis. read more

If you are going there for the allerdrops I will warn you that the office seems to be falling apart. This is the 3rd month that I have not received my prescription in the mail. I have been out now for 10 days and have left two messages (can't get a live person) and no one seems to be calling me back. They no longer take insurance for the allerdrops, so it is directly billed to my credit card. I guess they must be getting to big to keep up. So now at the start of allergy season I am left high and dry. If you are reading this Dr. Morris- time to hire more staff or drop some patient's to what you can manage reliably. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Morris for over a decade for various ailments (ear infections, strep, sinusitis). He is a wonderful diagnostician and caring physician. I have had to contact him on a couple of weekends for extremely painful episodes of sinusitis and he has always come through with the needed remedy. Dr morris has been my doctor for over 5 years. I can honestly say that he is one of the only doctors around that looks at the total person. Doesn't just treat your symptoms but looks beyond to find the cause. There are not many doctors these days that have the patience to find the cause. He is thorough and if extensive lab work needs to done, it's because he is probably thinking something outside the box that standard Doctors don't even know about. THE WORST doctors office experience I have EVER had. I really am a very forgiving person, and will accept small mishaps here and there, as I know what it's like to work with the public. HOWEVER... I made an appt with Dr. Morris to find out why I was having an allergic reaction when I wasn't around cats or ragweed (the allergens I know I'm affected by). I made the appt for 10 am and I arrived a 945am. I also made an appt at my gyn right next door at 1130. I wasn't brought into an exam room until 11:05!!! Thats over an hour waiting and not ONE person on the staff said anything to me about it. After in the exam room, I waited another 15 minutes for Dr. Morris to come in, He walked in right before I was going to get up and walk out. So, it was 1120 and my appt next door was at 1130. I was so stressed and so irritated. Dr. Morris was very nice, very friendly. He made small talk with me for the next 10 mins (now late for next appt) before he started to examine me. I then went in for blood work, then left. I arrived 15 minutes late to my NEXT DOOR appt. The front desk called me a couple days later to tell me that my nose culture came back negative (no infection) and that my allergy results would be about 10 days. About that much time passed when i got the message that my results had come back. The next day, I called the office back to schedule an appt. I got an answering service, and I left a message. My call was not returned 3 days later. So I called again and left another message, I called and I called.. trying to somehow get an actual person on the line... all I got was that stupid voicemail. 3 messages (1 very angry) and a week an a half later i got a call back to schedule my appt. The only one they had was another 2 weeks out. Wanting my results, I took it. Over the next few days, I recieved 3 calls from the office wanting to schedule an appt. What a joke!! I couldnt get anyone on the phone for 2 weeks and now i cant get them to stop calling me. I aso recieved another call saying that my nose culture came back negative. lol! They are soo unorganized, and apparently no one communicates. Fast foward to my appt which was at 1030 am. I brought my toddler daughter because I had no choice this day. I waited 1 hr and 15 minutes to be seen. and again no one said a word. So this is the norm for Dr. Morris. Why even make an appt?? Judging by another review that stated he spent over an hour with one patient.. they need to learn how to space their appts. People have schedules and other appts. By the time I was called back to the office my daughter was in full melt down mode. She wouldnt sit still and was screaming and I couldnt even hear The Dr tell me my results. oh and btw, he thought my daughter was the patient!! I had to run out of there.. and ask them to mail me my allergy drops, which a MONTH later I still have not recieved. I left another message : ) When I told Dr. Morris that I had waited over an hour and thats why my daughter was in the state that she's in.. He stated "Well, I'm sorry that you had to wait, but I have a plethora of other patients to see." Or atleast thats what I think he said over the sound of my screaming child. I also recieved my bill for the lab test. $500 dollars! They tested me for chicken feathers for the love of God.. among other ridiculous things that costed 30 dollars a test. I personally consider Dr. Morris to be a fundamental doctor on the fringe of homeopathic medicine. He is an ENT doctor, NOT a board certified allergist. My son has several documented LIFE threatening IgE food allergies. We both went to Dr. Morris and then I started to do a lot of research on this topic. A positive IgG blood test represents a normal immune response indicating EXPOSURE to a food not a delayed food allergy. There is no scientific validity to what Dr. Morris is selling, just Google scientific based medicine IgG. Worldwide allergy organizations and some of the most prominent allergists in the U.S., including Dr. Robert Wood at Johns Hopkins, have made statements opposing the use of IgG blood tests for food allergies. The FDA has NOT yet approved sublingual drops for legitimate IgE mediated food allergies, but this treatment does show promise in trials at Johns Hopkins and Duke. If Dr. Morris' recommendations of eliminating wheat and dairy gets you to start eating more fruits and vegetables which makes you feel better, that's great. However, please go to a board certified allergist and to a gastroenterologist, to be tested for Celiac disease, before eliminating wheat and dairy from your diet. The only medical reason a doctor should perform a IgG blood test is if you have confirmed Celiac disease to make sure you are not inadvertently exposing your body to gluten. read more
