Then I sat in the exam room for over an hour, as I listened to him treat other patients through the walls. If this is what has happened to the practice of medicine in America then it's time to rethink the system. I would not recommend scheduling with Dr. Condrell if you are looking for continuous care. I have become increasingly frustrated with this office, as I have been going there for a year and have been seen only by different NPs and PAs, yet I have not received a consistent diagnosis for very simple issues. I started going to Dr. Condrell in about 2010. His office and service were excellent and I recommended them to others. Dr. Condrell is a fellow Georgetown alumnus and took a practical pragmatic approach. Tragically, about 5 years ago the practice was turned over to a medical practice managment company. Over the following few years the collegial friendly nature of the practice has been destroyed while at the same time diminishing the efficiency. Dr. Condrell has been screened off from patients. I have not seen him during the past 2 year. There now appears to be a very large staff which seems to impede communication. This week I have spent several days trying to get a simple change in a CT scan order so it would be covered by my insurance. They should have done it right the first time. I am now told it will not be addressed until after the 4th of July holiday. Tragic loss of what was once (and could again be) a very fine doctor's office as it was turned into a medical business. read more

I went to doctor Dr. Condrell once in August 2020. He took an EKG in his office and told me I had a silent heart attack. Until I saw a heart doctor I was an emotional wreck, because I have an autoimmune disease. I went to my heart doctor who took another EKG and said that I DID NOT HAVE A HEART ATTACK. I have been on sleep medications, because I had my pituitary removed in 1998. The medication I was on quit working. I called his office at least 10 times and each time the PA put me on a low dose medication only to raise it so I could sleep. Last week, Dr. Condrell decided not to give me anymore sleep medications and referred me to a sleep doctor. In the note the receptionist read to me, he said he didn't want to pile on more medications, but did this shallow, stupid doctor ever think that I wouldn't sleep at all? He didn't give a shit. He deliberately violated his oath that he took when he became a doctor. I reported this quack to the Medical board of DC read more

Booked a COVID test, was told on the phone it would be $90 out of pocket. Fine. A week after the test, I get hit with a $206 additional charge that they somehow forgot to mention. $300 out of pocket for a COVID test. That's how my doctor treated me during a global crisis. read more

Having recently moved to this area, I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Condrell to set up a relationship with a primary care physician. I selected Dr. Condrell based on these positive Yelp reviews. I called the office to set up an appointment, and the receptionist was very friendly and indicated they do accept my insurance. Later, I checked this practice's website, which indicates they charge a monthly membership fee to see Dr. Condrell (beyond copay, charges, etc.). This membership ranges from $25-65 per month, based on the level of service you wish to receive. The indicated additional services, such as same day appts, comprehensive care, online health records, etc., should be standard in health care. As a consumer, I do not wish to concede these items as "premium" service worthy of paying more for. Aren't insurance, copays, coinsurance, and deductibles already expensive enough? Beyond that, I contacted my insurance company and this provider isn't covered after all. So...cancelled appointment, one star. Dr. Condrell might be an excellent physician, but I'll never know. read more

Only positive experiences at this office. Usually called in from the waiting room within 10 minutes of my appointment time. Doctor Condrell will spend the time necessary to diagnose issues and will give me precise instructions on how to improve my health. The last time I saw Doctor Condrell, l,was in a lot of pain. He diagnosed the issue quickly, told me that the pain would dissipate over the coming days and he gave me some options to treat the pain until it was gone. He was 100 percent correct. Making the appointment was super easy- The receptionist was friendly over the phone. When I walked in there were patients waiting and two people at the front desk (receptionist and maybe the office manager)... No one acknowledged me when I walked in. So I walk up to the front desk. Zara, the receptionist was on the phone which (I understand) but the other lady... She definitely ignored me and went about folding paper. I wrote my name and time of arrival on the clip board and sat down. After getting off the phone Zara asked for my insurance card and license. Then I waited to be called. My appointment time was at 3:15 - I got here at 2:45 it's now 4:05 and I'm still waiting in their waiting area. Seriously what is the point of making an appointment? 4:09 finally called Weighted, blood pressure checked, blood drawn (no pain! And super duper fast! Thank you! I am deathly scared of needles and I normally freak out, start hyperventilating and cry). 4:15 waiting again in the examine room 4:30ish finally I see the doctor. Let's just say the doctor legit chuckled/snorted/laughed when I brought a concern up about my health. I would never go back. read more

I was terribly disappointed with Dr. Condrell. I went to see him with two issues: 1. a pain in my foot that turned out to be a rather advanced stress fracture, but which he chalked off to be a bruise, and 2. a condition that he properly diagnosed and for which he prescribed the right medication to treat the immediate symptoms. However, he did not make any mention of the fact that my condition was related to a compromised immune system, nor did he mention that the problem would not go away until I addressed the cause. He was so busy chatting and complaining about his office's new, expensive computer system that he ran out of time and rushed me out of the office before explaining anything. Thankfully, a friend who has a medical background was with me when I was nonchalantly taking the medication and she explained to me how serious the condition was. Dr. Condrell was very personable, and I do not like to judge someone after one visit like this, but he showed a level of incompetence and lack of seriousness that had real consequences, and I think others should be forewarned. read more

I relocated to DC with every intention of ensuring my healthcare and medicine would overlap. I wanted to see an assortment of doctors, however; I found my "overlap" time expiring. I researched a handful of physicians and was impressed with the reviews I discovered concerning Dr. Condrell. I weighed the few suggested drawbacks against the abundance of positive remarks, and decided to give him an opportunity. I contacted his office that Monday and was given an appointment the following afternoon. I will admit, I was apprehensive about how quickly I was able to get an appointment as a new patient. In my experiences, this is not a great sign of the physician's competency. I was sorely mistaken. Dr. Condrell sat with me in his office, listened intently to my healthcare history, asked relevant questions, and purposed the consideration of alternative options. I am rather objective and critical of medical professionals. It was pure luck that I was able to get the appointment so quickly. In this case, I was treated like a person rather than a patient the doctor had to deal with. Dr. Condrell is understanding and empathetic to the situations/difficulties his patients are experiencing. He appeared well versed in current medical trends and shifts. Nonetheless, he also comprehends the fact that science does not explain everything. Hands down; if you need a good doctor who is upfront and understands the need for personal medical care, rather than a 15 minute slot, give the doctor a call. read more

Dr. Condell was my wife's doctor so I already knew he was good. He is very easy to talk to, I have never felt rushed. He has a great staff and now works with a nurse practitioner. I have to agree with the other reviewers on this page. Dr. Condrell has always been professional, expedient, and has never made me feel like my concerns are not worth hearing. He IS an excellent listener as one other reviewer and his demeanor is great! He puts you at ease. Most notably, he is neither a doctor who is going to rush you out of his office or a doctor who is going to try prescribing whatever he can to you. On one instance, when I had an appointment with him to discuss a variety of issues he was able to uncover the underlying causes for ailments that even my specialists had missed because they weren't asking the right questions. He recommended a common fix that he was surprised to find that the specialist I go to had not thought to recommend, and I was on my way! A long-term problem that I had been dealing with was fixed! read more

This office is run like a business and not like a doctor's office. My insurance provider changed mid-year and I needed to port my existing prescriptions over to my new provider. When I asked them to call it in, they required that I come back in for an appointment despite the fact that I had plenty of refills remaining and had completed my annual physical just 8 months earlier at their office. They claimed they needed me to come in because it was a "controlled substance." Ahem, we're talking heartburn meds?! Just a way to get an extra appointment out of me. Then I got the bill for $250 for an appointment where I walked in, got my blood pressure taken and walked out with my refilled prescription. This guy is laughing all the way to the bank. read more

Dr. Condrell really cares. He will see you last minute even if it means missing his lunch. He sits and talks with you and finds medication that works for you. I have honestly never had another primary care physician as nice and caring as Condrell. Excellent doctor, but extremely rude and incompetent receptionist/billing staff. They contacted me today about an unpaid bill, which I found surprising, I had not received any bills from this office nor had I been expecting to. Well, turns out that they mailed the bill to an apartment I have not lived in in over 4 years, even though my patient portal had my updated address and all of my information. They sent the bill to collection without giving me a courtesy call, which is a terrible practice. I paid the bill over the phone, and the office receptionist, Lena, was rude and informed me that their "new policy" is to call people before sending it to collection. Laughable! Why did they not always employ this best practice? Now I have to deal with a collection agency because Lena, or whomever handles their billing, was too incompetent to use the current address that they have on file for me. Top Doctor in Washington, no doubt. Dr. Condrell is (or at least looks like) a young doctor, but he practices the old-fashioned way: a great listener, who shows real concern and empathy, has most helpful suggestions, eager to truly provide care for the entire person - not just wrie prescriptions. A rare find! His staff is very professional, there is no wait time and the small monthly fee to "join his practice" is worth a thousand times the expense. Well done Dr. Condrell! I've been seeing Dr. Condrell for years and he is the best doctor I've ever had. On so many occasions he has diagnosed something that other doctors, including specialsts, have missed. He is personable, very intelligent, and I feel like I'm going to see a friend whenever I visit his office. Maybe I just got him on a bad day, but I was not at all pleased with this doctor. The secretary was nice and waiting time was about half an hour (not too bad for doctors appointments I guess), but I felt VERY rushed during my appointment. I wanted to talk to him more in detail about a couple different issues, but he was obviously in a hurry to get to his next patient. My son had a terrible experience a day ago. Scheduled through a current patient recommendation and Condrell was completely unhelpful. Dismissed my son's descriptions of issues and passed it off as stress.
