He just didn't write scripts for unnecessary prescriptions or tests. He took time with each patient and you could truly see his care. Now it's been a little while since I've been as I typically only go for my routine exams for prescription renewals. Keep in mind I've been coming here for years and I've also been on the same meds for longer than I've been coming here. I called a few weeks ago to schedule my routine exam and was told at that time that they'd send a note to the nurse practitioner for my script refills since I booked my appointment. They'd also get my blood work script out to my home address as I'd need to get that done about a week or two before my visit. Today I called because no script received to date and I was notified by my pharmacy that my script refill was denied. Spoke to the receptionist who informed me that the nurse denied my refills because she wanted to see me first. Also informed that she didn't approve my blood work because she needs to meet with me to determine what I actually need. Keep in mind I only have 10 days worth of meds left so irritated I explained that this was absurd. I cannot just simply stop taking my meds for weeks while the nurse determines next steps. I've been on these for years and there's been no change to my health to indicate it's ok to stop taking and even the warning on the meds state to not stop taking unless consultation with a doctor which I've had no consultation or tests to confirm it is ok to stop taking. In looking through my file she noticed that I was coded as a new patient so she explained since that wasn't correct she'd send my file back through to see if she'd approve. Today I just couldn't take it anymore and changed due to my experience. I just had enough and switched to another practitioner. I should not have to deal with the mere stress of this. I mean come on!

Dr. Meyer…read moreused to be part of a larger medical group located on Linebaugh Avenue in the Carrollwood area, but he moved his practice up north last year to support a base of patients on the north side of Tampa, and I elected to drive the extra 15-20 minutes to stay as his patient. Sun Lake is a part of the same medical family as the former Northwest Family Medical Center on Linebaugh, and so it was quite easy transferring my chart up to the new office. Dr. Meyer is now located in the Sun Lake Professional Center which is north on Dale Mabry, past the northern end of the Veterans, past Calusa Trace, past Cheval......start watching for the cows on both sides of the road.....and there he is on the left in a small professional office complex. Dr. Meyer has been a family practitioner since 1989, and was an Army General Medical Officer in Desert Shield and Desert Storm before that. He is extremely knowledgeable, very personable, and really takes the time to get to know his patients. It's not uncommon to spend an extra few minutes talking about a new exercise program that I can use while traveling, or discussing the medicinal benefits of various types of hot tea, or even the details on that really good restaurant that I discovered last weekend. The mission statement in the examination rooms really says it all, "To provide the most compassionate and best quality care possible for each individual in order to enhance his or her quality of life. This includes not only physical care but also spiritual, mental, and educational support." That really says it all for me, and it explains why I will continue to go out of my way to see Dr. Meyer.

Luckily, I had a "Thank You" card with my discharge packet that capture their names (cause that anesthesia be bussin' and causes short term remembery loss...). In all seriousness, the team at Ambulatory Surgery Center demonstrates professionalism and most importantly, compassion from start to finish. For transparency, my procedure was scheduled at the ASC through my GI doctor (Dr. Ali), who maintains a separate practice from the ASC (as far as I understand). Given this fact, the coordination was streamlined. The key here was the communication I received throughout that kept me informed and allowed me to appropriately prepare for the procedure. The digital process for patient registration was very easy to navigate, while the pre-op survey was direct and focused. I continued to receive text reminders along with pre-op instructions to ensure that I was on-track for the big day. ASC is a stand-alone facility; it doesn't share the physical building with any other entity. I find that this made it easy to identify and locate as you're arriving for your procedure. On the day of my procedure, I was promptly checked-in. This process set the tone for the procedure. In my opinion, the thoroughness of this process gave me some peace of mind before the actual procedure. After was I checked-in, the nursing team and staff took care of me the rest of the way until the procedure and post-op. They were super friendly and nice, making small talk to calm some nerves, while tending to each patient's needs. Overall, ASC showcased the dedication that one would expect from medical professionals.

It was dark, and the front entrance had a light that was flickering which gave me vibes of "you can check in but can't check out." Now I can tell you that before going in I was seriously freaking out, and seeing this creepy doomsday light flickering didn't help. Of course I know my mind was playing tricks on my already freaked out brain...but when I walked inside I can honestly say this was the nicest and cleanest surgical center I've had been a patient at. The nurses, the anesthesiologist, and of course the doctor and check in staff were all very kind, understanding, and thorough. They knew I was very very very nervous and were kind and sympathetic to my fears and concerns. They answered all of my questions and my mother's questions too. They even had these little heating devices that blew into the sheets that kept me warm... when I let them know that sometimes I wake up nauseous after anesthesia, they made sure to be proactive about that and I did not have a issue. When I addressed the issue that in a past procedure I had done at a hospital I had developed a complication with the IV site a couple days after release with a hysterectomy they made sure to be proactive in giving antibiotics in the surgical room and also send a prescription home so that would not happen to me with this surgery. Someone also made sure to check in after the surgery to make sure everything was okay and wanted to see if there was anything that I needed. All in all, this surgical center has been absolutely fantastic and all the staff were top notch!!! I definitely can reassure you that if your experience was like mine, your procedure will be smooth sailing from start to finish. Well done there team! A week after surgery, I am still recovering well.

On July 20th [Monday] I received a voicemail from her office stating that they have been trying to reach me for the past week (No missed calls. No voicemails left) and that Dr. Parker was no longer accepting new patients. I called back to get more information and was informed that her last day accepting new patients was July 17th [Friday]. For my appointment to have been scheduled FOR MONTHS to it JUST NOW being addressed is completely UNACCEPTABLE. At the very least I could have been rescheduled or notified prior to this last minute indecency. This is by far the worse experience I've had with anyone representing Advent Health and it's completely unprofessional. After months of waiting, I have now been turned away. No consideration and no concern for a patient that has been waiting for YOU, Dr. Parker, specifically. What a horrible way to be treated. I am thoroughly disappointed. Especially, as a black woman waiting for a black female doctor that specializes in what I need. What an utter let down.

The administrative staff lacked patience, compassion, and professionalism, and I consistently felt that policies were placed ahead of patient care. If you have a child with special needs, care for a family member with special needs, or you yourself require anything beyond a straightforward, routine appointment, I would encourage you to carefully consider whether this practice is the right fit. Based on my experience and conversations with others, this office does not appear to be well equipped to work with patients whose needs require additional understanding, flexibility, or support. What should have been a healthcare experience became unnecessarily stressful. Patients deserve to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion--especially when they are already dealing with complex medical issues. I sincerely hope this practice invests in additional training for its administrative staff so that all patients, regardless of their individual needs, receive the level of care and respect they deserve.

Once I got to the patient room my vitals were taken, everything was high but the nurse didn't seem to care. Cool! I then had to wait 1hr and 20 minutes for Dr.cho to basically tell me to take allergy medicine for my hives. He like to talk fast to try and speed up the appointment I noticed I also had pictures of my hives that I wanted to show but he was only interested in taking a Quick Look at one of the MANY pictures I had. He also likes to talk over you as your explaining anything I ignored him and continued talking. Honestly I should have walked out of the office after 50 minutes. I've never been to a doctors office such as this but I'll definitely be looking for a better immunologist.

I was given a nerve block injection prior to surgery. I was scheduled to spend 1 night in hospital. Once in my hospital room Physical Therapist tried to get me to stand up. My leg was frozen and i couldn't move it at all. Dr Chan came in and chastised me in a very nasty way saying that I was not trying and needed to try harder. He became insulting, sarcastic and condescending. I actually got sick to my stomach and started throwing up. The hospital staff as well as the hospital doctor all realized I had a problem and i had to stay 3 nights in the hospital before i could stand pn my leg and use the bathroom. Dr. Chan never came back to see me in hospital but sent his PA. After 2 weeks i went to Dr. Chan's office to have staples removed. Again he sent his PA and nurse to attend to my incision. I asked if I can see the Dr. and told NO. He was there as i saw him in his XRAY reading room. I was told he would see me 4 weeks post op. I said i had a few questions for him and was told to tell her and she would confer with him regarding my next planned right hip replacement which was supposef to be sometime in June 2024. I finally did get to talk to Dr. Chan on my next follow up. He was rude, insulting and condescending stating i needed to lose weight before he would discuss the 2nd hip replacement. My BMI was way under 40 which is their max and wasn't a problem or discussion regarding my first hip surgery. I actually lost 14 lbs in one month but got no acknowledgment when i returned for f/u appt and was consistently ignored and put off when subject of next hip surgery was mentioned. Finally in mid May when Dr. Chan could not come up with anymore excuses, he told me that he looked at my xrays abd decided i did not need right hip replacement!!!! OMG, in March he told me "BOTH HIPS ARE BAD, WHICH ONE DO YOU WANT TO DO FIRST?" Now in May and with so much pain he comes up with this reason. I immediately went to another very respected Orthopedic surgeon for 2nd opinion and had Lateral right hip replacement on June 19, 2024. I am now 2 months post op and doing very well. Dr. Chan might be a good surgeon but his arrogance, disrespectful attitude and lack of bedside manner is beyond unacceptable.

Everyone thinks this is a free service and for get that a medical or other service is still a business and businesses are in business to make money.
