This firm assigned Jennifer S. as my attorney for a county civil rights matter. I paid the $500 additionally requested by her to review video footage relevant to the case. She confirmed she had reviewed the videos and believed the case was viable. Based on that, I was asked to prepare and provide a detailed timeline, submit a lot of documentation, and sign a legal letter.
Well over a year later, it became evident that major elements within the footage--which she later acknowledged made the case legally unviable--had been missed from the start. These were not subtle details; they were clearly visible and were quickly spotted by opposing counsel and by me when I was finally given access to the footage myself. Attorney Michael M. stated in writing that he was also involved throughout the process, yet neither he, Jennifer, nor their staff identified these critical issues.
If the videos had been properly reviewed--as I was charged for--a significant amount of time, energy, and legal work could have been avoided.
To make matters worse, when these key points were finally discovered, the firm refused to accept professional accountability. They declined to retract the demand letter and also refused to refund the original $500 review fee. Instead, they cited the volume of emails and phone calls logged on my case as justification for keeping the fee.
That justification only added insult to injury. A large portion of that communication was the direct result of Jennifer's extended periods of unresponsiveness mixed with partial responses and email replies requesting phone calls instead of emails. Until I began CCing Michael M, I had to send multiple follow-ups just to get basic updates or answers-- extra contact that wouldn't have been necessary had she been more attentive and timely from the start.
In my opinion, this was a frustrating, disappointing, and unprofessional experience for multiple reasons. I cannot recommend this firm based on my experience. read more
