I am now a former patient of Dr Kurtz. I requested help via a telehealth conference for treatment after a positive COVID test. I asked about Paxlovid but was instead given instructions to take a 2 day dose of Ivermectin. ivermectin is not approved by the FDA for the treatment of Covid, and is not covered by insurance. I was sent to a pharmacy unknown to me where I believe I was overcharged for this treatment, which was completely ineffective, needless to say. In my view, this was a political decision on Dr Kurtz's part and was not made in good faith or with the care of his patient in mind. I am very unhappy and feel abused by this treatment. read more

I have been a patient of doctor Kurtz for a long time. I developed some kind of neck problem during the pandemic that caused me to get migraines. Dr.Kurtz has this in his notes... I eventually get another migraine and need a refill on the medication he prescribed me which can be done over the phone. Unfortunately my job required me to bring a doctors note. I requested to receive one from doctor Kurtz office but they said I had to see him first. I tried to schedule a quick appointment just to get the note that day, but they were reluctant to see me. Finally I was able to talk them into seeing me to get this note. I drive 45 mins and wait in their office for 1 hour and 15 mins at which time I ask if I am going to be seen before a certain time, which they replied they were not sure if they were going to be able to see me at all due to no cancelations. At that point seeing how I only had 30 mins before I had to leave I just called it and walked out. This unfortunately is like the 3rd time this happen and Kurtz office was not like this before the pandemic or even during for that matter. Service is TERRIBLE HERE! The girls at the front desk don't know anything and are very condescending over the phone. PEOPLE DO NOT GET SICK ON A SCHEDULE! My experience with Dr Kurtz was horrible. Not sure how there is good reviews unless you just go for medication as he's a pill pusher. He rushes in and out of the room and is making jokes the whole time and causes anxiety and takes away from the seriousness of the condition. Dr. Kutrz and his PA Collette refused to refill my mother's pain medications after a traumatic fall and hospitalization. She was post op day 3, after 2 surgeries following a severe compound fracture. It was a Friday evening at 4pm and she had 5 pills of Norco remaining. We were told by the hospital to obtain pain refills by PCP. He stated that "he is unable to prescribe pain medications as a primary care provider" which is not accurate! He and Collette treated us with disrespect, they de humanized the situation my mother was going through and acted as if she was drug seeking. They did not offer to provide a refill to get her through the weekend. Instead, they referred us to the ER for refills. Collette has minimal experience and had to ask Dr. Kurtz for permission and guidance. As a medical provider, I am beyond disgusted. I will NOT have my mother return to this practice! read more

Can't see him anymore unless you wish to pay $2000 a year to be in his concierge program. He was great when I was able to receive care from him before this change (March 2023) but everyone who was nice (& competent) ~ left! if you would like to see TRUE reviews about him.. his staff and his facility (that are CURRENT) .. please check out the reviews from where he is located. VALLEY VIEW WELLNESS. I thought i would be ok seeing someone else from his office.. but NO. Staff was RUDE in more ways than one. There is also a sign which they have posted in the rooms which I show in Valley View Wellness's reviews that states that you will be BLOCKED if you try to call Dr. Kurtz (on the number HE gave you). !!AWFUL!! Not sure what's the secret behind his good reviews but I had a terrible experience with him. I saw Dr. Kurtz a couple of years ago. I saw him a total of 4 times. Everything about my visit was bad. Dr. Kurtz rushed in and out of my room, didn't really listen to my concern. He kept asking me if I need a pain medication prescription after me saying no numerous times. He was cracking jokes the whole time, which took away from the seriousness of my condition. I understand that he was trying to lighten the situation, but it didn't work. I was misdiagnosed and eventually had to get a huge surgery done. Couple days after seeing him, I started getting calls from my pharmacy to pick up my medication (which I never asked for). His office billed me incorrectly and it took them 4 months to rectify it. He ordered blood work and tests that were not necessary. When i went to pick up my results, one of the comments he made during our visit was - "Your vitamin D is a little low. The last time my vitamin D was low, I had stomach cancer. But don't worry, you'll be fine." And I was like WTH!! P.s. His son Jason Kurtz is way better. Go see him in Yorbalinda. read more

I love Dr. Kurtz. Just wanted to say that up front. He is incredibly energetic and really likes to joke around (he's fun). But his office staff are difficult and don't seem to know what is happening. I've had issues with their billing and it's a nightmare to spend time on the phone with these people. Somehow I had 50 cents outstanding on a bill I already paid?! How does that even happen? Having multiple people telling you different things from the same office is just...the worst. However, the main issue I have is the wait time...I spent almost 2 hours waiting to see the doctor after my scheduled appointment time. And this isn't the first time something like this has happened. Even early morning appointments leave you waiting around for an hour or hour and thirty minutes. Absolutely unacceptable. Dr. Kurtz spends time with patients so if you're in a hurry this physician isn't for you. Most doctors these day spend about 15 min or less and it feels like a factory but not Dr. Kurtz. I've been a patient of Dr. Kurt since 2006 and I would also like to thank his professional staff. He cares so much that he even works on Saturday to meet the needs of his patients. He understands addiction and I feel comfortable talking with him about anything that is going on with me and it's not always easy as a male to open up to another male. My husband took our toddler to see Dr. Kurtz for her well baby check-up, as we are trying to find a new doctor (the old one took on too many patients and it was impossible to get an appointment in a reasonable amount of time). Although Dr. Kurtz seemed really nice, and seemed to truly care about his patients, we decided not to return because he is anti-vax and we are VERY pro-vax. Last fall, I moved south of Garden Grove. For months I tried to find a new primary care physician -- to no avail. I could not find a doctor comparable to the one I was leaving. I ended up deciding I'd make the 25 mile drive north and keep the doctor I trusted, respected and liked. Dr. Michael Kurtz is not only an incredible doctor, but a very warm, kind and caring human being. He has amazing diagnostic skills, immediately seeing the "causes" of an illness or issue. In other words, he doesn't just treat symptoms like so many other busy doctors do, and he takes the time to talk and explain things. Equally important: he LISTENS to his patients. For all these reasons, expect to wait beyond your appointment time, and also spend extra time in the examining room. I take a book to read with me. He has a great staff that is always pleasant, kind and considerate. The environment is very relaxed and often filled with good humor. I should add, his office is equipped to handle basic lab work, X-Rays, etc., so you don't have to run off to labs, hospitals or screening facilities. That is a time saver, and you don't have to wait days to get test results. Also, I discovered that most doctors don't even keep common medications to give an injection or a vaccine. That is never a problem with Dr. Kurtz at his Valley View Wellness Medical Center. For all these reasons, I gave Dr. Kurtz five stars and I recommend him. If you want a doctor that REALLY cares about his patients, this is the doctor for you. He acts like you are a customer (which you are), not as if you are stupid layman. He is super intelligent and keeps up on everything new, as well as remembering what worked in the past. Another advantage is that he has many testing facilities on site. Other places send you all over to get blood tests and x-rays, etc. His associate, Dr. McKinley is also very good. The only recommendation that I have is for you to write down what your problems are, and what your requests are in advance. It is easy to start talking to him about other things, and then you forget what you are really there for. The downside is, He does not accept HMO's, and there may be a long wait to see him. So be prepared for the whole thing to take awhile. He takes PPO's and cash patients. read more

Going to see Kurtz is a breath of fresh air! He ordered numerous tests that my previous hmo dr never suggested. Addressed several health issues in one visit! His physicians assistant Morgen is great too! He even called me to see how I was feeling after a procedure he did! Dr Kurtz is truly amazing!! He is the only Dr i have ever met who listens and actually takes your feelings and views into consideration. I have had 2 prior Miscarriages and still no one would run tests to see why till i met him. He ran the tests i needed to fix whatever issue I had. and found out i had low Progesterone, so he told me the next time i get a positive to come see him and he will prescribe it. I am now 8 weeks pregnant the furthest i have ever gotten and i got to see a heart beat and its all thanks to him!! On top of that my current OB will only call my insurance company to authorize my medication if i pay 40 dollars LOL...so i called Kurtz today and its already being handled hes truly and angel, i dident know people like him still walked this planet. read more
