My husband and I have been patients for years, we love Dr. Dang and his staff. My husband's a storyteller and the doctor is always so patient. My husband went thru a bad health crisis a few years ago and we were in their office and calling them quite a bit and the they were always so helpful, we never felt any frustration from their team. Although the office is small but the most importantly is all the receptionist here are so sweet and helpful. They keep you posted with any concerns or questions you may have. I've been going to this doctor for several years but sadly will have to switch now, given their new policy of forcing patients to come in for check up multiple times a year or they won't authorize your prescription refill. I've been on this medication for years and have no issues. I went for my annual checkup less than 6 months ago and said I don't have issues with the medication and would like to continue. Now all of a sudden it's an issue and I need to physically go on to tell them I'm ok for them to refill??!! It's not like there's a test or exam needed to assess my reaction to the medication. I know times are tough but sad to see a doctor office come up with reasons to milk you for extra money. read more

The office staffs(Lucy& Thī) are unprofessional, and incompetent. Due to changes in insurance medical group.I had selected Dr Hiep as my family primary care Dr & based on iprovider listings he's accepting new patients. My daughter injured her left knee during soccer tournament, & is recovering from ACL on her right knee & is still under care with a specialist . I called the office & requesting for my daughter to be seen for her left knee..I was told they don't have an appointment available& the next available appointment will be in 3 months. I was able to convinced the staff to scheduled appointment(much appreciated). I gave the staff my insurance information & she said she'll call me back & she did only to tell me I'm not in network & that Dr Hiep is not my primary care physician. I told her I have the insurance card and Dr Hiep is my physician. Staff told me I have to call my insurance and figure that out. I called my insurance & the agent was nice enough to call the office & straight things out. My daughter was seen. Now back to her ACL on her right knee, because we switch medical group we need another referral to see the same surgeon . So another appointment is needed & they again ask my daughter to do a walk in (wait time is expected). Dr requested authorization & call me back saying authorization for my daughter to be seen is denied because it's not a medical reason.. she had an ACL surgery & needed follow up how is that not a medical reason . I was then told by Lucy to call my insurance (what's her job then?). I called the insurance company & the agent told me the code drs office used is vague and doesn't specify the conditions & it's for left knee.. I called the specialist office to obtain the codes that Dr can use to request the authorization. Lucy said ok she'll submit another request. Called me bout week later saying request denied because my daughter's almost 18 & the specialist is a pediatrician specialist ..Hmmmh almost 18 but she's not. Again I was told to called the insurance. I explained the situation to the insurance agent & they said the reason was because they want to use the medical group Dr before using other medical group Dr. I called the office Lucy puts me on hold for 10 mins & return with the same reason of denial almost 18 years of age. I've had enough with the staffs & requested for a call back from Dr Hiep maybe I can explained & we can get the approval. I received a call back from a lady claiming she's the office manager I told the her the situation then she's saids she the Dr sister!!? I'm not getting anything out of this office lies after lies. She didn't even put in the effort of offer: let me talk to the Dr see what we could do to get the approval for my daughter to be seen by her surgeon instead sending her to a Dr with no history of my daughter condition( no offense). even after I told her I want my daughter to continued to be under the surgeon care. All i was told is how great the staffs are. I wouldn't want anyone to lose their job but staffs need to be re-train. I'm done with the office. read more

Dr Dang is a very good physician. Working in the medical field myself, I am usually very skeptical but I have to say Dr Dang has my complete trust in taking care of my mom. He always addresses our concern and questions promptly and kindly. Yes some people may be bothered by how often (a couple times a year) he requires his patients to come back for a check up, but this is the sign of a good physician who actually cares about you. The office staff are also courteous and treat my mom well. This is rare among the many Vietnamese physician office in the area. Highly recommend! read more

By far the most caring PCP I've ever had in my life. Amazing bedside manners. Dr Dang really listens, empathizes, and cares for his patients. I've done walk-ins for urgent care before, and the wait wasn't so bad. He really makes an effort to still provide his patients proper care. He really just takes things in and takes careful consideration before speaking. Extremely kind, patient, and compassionate man, and you can tell those traits transfers over to his interaction with everyone. I've worked for five prestigious doctors up in SF before and I was constantly reprimanded for things out of my control...One of his medical assistants mentioned she's been there for 4 years and she's never once heard Dr. Dang raise his voice or get upset. This doctor is awesome. It's high tech for an Asian place as well. You check in using an iPad. Lots of parking and it's not crazy packed like other places. I arrived on time for my appointment. It took around 10-15 min waiting inside the room before the doctor came to see me. He's a really nice guy and answered all my questions. They also have a lab there. If you have PPO then they'll draw blood there. If you have HMO then they will send you elsewhere to draw blood. read more

Took forever to set an appointment since I am a new patient but once you talk to the doctor he seems genuine and cares. I had to do a follow up on my physical and they try to a accommodate you with walk in but if someone cancels they will ask if you want that spot which is cool of them. read more

I made an appointment for a check up but I wasn't seen, so I guess this review for the front desk. I came in on time checked in on their iPad which was pretty nice. They asked for my insurance card and called my insurance about billing my visit. There were two other people in the waiting room and the lady at the front desk was telling the person on the phone my personal info. So much for HIPPA. She gets off the phone and tells me I have a copay of $20. I never had a copay before. I didn't inquire about it. I would've paid it too but they ONLY ACCEPT CASH OR CHECK. She said she could wait and have me come back. That was the deal breaker for me. Plus they took the person after me in..I won't be coming back to the office. It would've been nice to have met the Doctor. But if you have an iPad to check in patients, I think you should accept debit/credit like the rest of the world. read more

Writing on behalf of my niece. Dr. Dang is not my primary physician at the moment. I brought my niece to have her first visit with Dr. Dang and was pleased with his service as well as his staff's service. Receptionists are polite and willing to help sort out any insurance issues/questions. Dr. Dang is speaks English fluently, is a great listener and answers any questions that you may have. The wait room is neat and clean. This place is more modern than most doctor offices in the area- iPad to check in, etc. The only reason I gave this place 4 stars is because the wait time. Be expected to wait half an hour or so after your scheduled appointment time. Overall, great service. read more

Fantastic doctor! Dr. Dang was super friendly, genuine, and caring. I didn't feel rushed at all, which is something I've encountered with other doctors before. He was understanding of my needs and made sure to ask if I had any questions before I left. I've never left a doctor's office so happy with my visit, haha. I've had terrible experiences in the past with other doctors or urgent care, but visiting Dr. Dang was a pleasant surprise. The check-in process is also quick and the front desk girls were very nice. We always make an appointment before we come. So it is very fast. ( Except sat , we often wait 30 mins ), but it is fine. He is the best doctor we haven't gone. He is nice, calm, and kind. He is very knowledgeable. He doesn't give us medicine if we don't really neat. He gives us right medicine and we get recover very quick. Last month I cough for 3 weeks, I thought I had a cold or flu so I bought medicine from CVS to drink for weeks. Finally, I went to doctor. He told me to stop using medicine. Doctor Hiep and his staff are nice, but I just feel like they operate more for profit than the actual well being of their clients (at least they don't make me feel that way). My previous doctors always wrote me a year's prescription for my BC, but for some reason they only wrote me one for 6 months. My pharmacy sent in the request for the renewal, but was denied because the doctor needed me to come in for a 2nd check up. Since then, I've found a new doctor who was glad to write me a prescription for the entire year. This move from this practice's end was a deal breaker for me. I will not be back. read more

Dr Hiep Dang was nice from what I experience seeing him. However, the front desk/billing people are very greedy. I came for an annual check-up, the front desk girl asked me if I have any other complaint besides annual check-up, I said yeah, I had some muscle pain. I thought it just a question, but nope, she put that in a file as I seeing the doctor twice, thus, they charged my insurance two-time visits, which is one was cover and one I has to pay out of my own pocket. I have never have seen any doctor for an annual check-up with some sort of health complaint that they charge me twice. What a rip-off!! The worst thing is the front desk girl didn't even warn me that she going to charge me twice when I had a muscle paint that supposed to come together with an annual visit, I would cancel the visit. It was my first and last time with this office. I don't know if Dr Hiep runs his business this way or his manager runs it, but it simply a very greedy act. read more

Still going back to him after all these years. The wait is a hit or miss, but I've been to 5-6 other places and they're the same regardless of whether there is one doctor or 8. Wonderful doctor. I have been looking for a decent doctor in this area for so long. Doctor Hiep Dang is very attentive to my needs. He takes his time to talk to you and answer all of your questions. He explains the effectiveness of the drugs he prescribed for you. He's nothing like other doctors I've seen. I'm very happy with him. I will choose him as my primary care physician without a doubt. Here is the reason why I gave this place one star. I did call to make an appointment for yearly checkup. One of the staffs asked for my Insurance ID and told me to come in on Saturday morning at 11:30 am ( do not eat anything before taking blood). To ensure everything is ok for the Saturday appointment, I called the office twice and was told everything is ok. Well after waiting for half an hour on Saturday, I was told that they did not verify my insurance and I have to pay out of my pocket if my insurance is not accepted. Also I was told that they need a telephone number from me to able to verify my insurance (google it?). One of the staffs realized that she made a mistake for not verify my insurance and did apologize for it, but another staff is very rude. She gave me an attitude while telling me that their policy is not to check the status of the insurance one day before Saturday. She is young but very disrespectful. She should not be working in the front desk when dealing with people. Note: Dr Dang please make sure this will never happen again in the future and the girl should not be working in the front desk. Is the doctor in? You bet your ass he is. I've had the pleasure of having Dr. Hiep Dang as both my primary care physician (PCP) and mentor for the past 2 years or so. I first met Dr. Dang when I decided to leave the financial industry and pursue medicine. I wanted to shadow a family physician to get a better taste of the profession, and he agreed to it on the spot. I soon discovered that he was unlike most doctors I knew. Though many of the doctors I've worked with in the past were nice enough, Dr. Dang's "bedside manner" was and remains unmatched. He's professional, courteous, competent (as you would want your doctor to be...LOL), and very easy going. Aside from the standard questions you may expect during an exam, he'll take the time to get to know you and address anything he feels may be impacting your physical and psychosocial health. I was so impressed by the way he practiced medicine that I decided to make him my PCP. As you'll notice, Dr. Dang is not an MD. Rather, he is a D.O., which stands for Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. I might catch heat for this, but for the sake of simplicity I'll just say that D.O.'s go through virtually the same medical school curriculum (plus additional training in manual therapies) and must complete a residency. You'll find D.O.'s in every specialty, from Cosmetic Dermatology and Internal Medicine to Radiology and Orthopedic Surgery. If you've never seen a D.O. before and are hesitant to see one, you have nothing to fear! There are only two medical degrees in the U.S. that allow the recipient to practice medicine, and the D.O. is one of them. In a world of managed care and rapid, fly-by-night doctor's appointments, Dr. Dang is a breath of fresh air. read more
