For a number of reasons we wanted to rent instruments rather than traveling with them. No one responded to the request for contact I sent through the website. I called 21 times (no exaggeration) from Sept 7 - Dec 13 at different times of day when they were supposedly open according to their website. All my calls and visits were during open hours. I wanted to rent an acoustic guitar while visiting family in Hanover in mid-December. There was never an option to leave a message. They answered only twice. The first answer was in late October and an employee said I could come in when I got to town and choose a rental from their supply. A day later we decided to rent a fiddle too. Four more calls later the next week, they finally answered and an employee said yes we could rent a fiddle too. I was a bit leery due to the difficulty of contacting them but decided to plan on the rentals. We got into Hanover, called the store from our Air BnB and got no answer. The next day we went to the store. The door was locked and no one answered our knocks. Their sidewalk sandwich board was folded up and leaning against the wall. We thought maybe they went to lunch. We went back a couple of more times that afternoon and nothing had changed. We also tried calling (four more times) but got no answer. The story ends with no instruments for us and no performance for our family reunion. Big thumbs down and not recommended

Black Moon definitely has games and modules that are more difficult to find which is why it's such a treat to go. I can tell a lot of thought goes into the products they stock. Black Moon will always be one of my favorite places for table top games!

I'm not usually in the business of ordering saddles sight unseen, but I had exhausted the saddleries in my area and they had a very reasonably priced Hermes on their website that I just couldn't resist. The clerks were polite and didn't mind me grilling them over the phone. They have a nice flexible trial policy (a week give or take) and they only charged me $20 in shipping which is crazy cheap for sending a saddle across the country! When I got the saddle (it took 8 days) it was completely sound and looked exactly like the pictures. I was a little paranoid that for the price it might have some ripped seams or missing billets but there were no ugly surprises! It was exactly as they assured me it was over the phone. Good condition, just needed some oiling. The only discrepancy was that the saddle was listed as a 17.5", but its serial number indicates it was made as an 18". I haven't taken a measuring tape to it myself to see who was right but I'm fine either way since it fits my butt. This is a good honest saddlery and if I lived in Vermont I'm sure I'd be here all the time.

No matte. Nothing complicated. They charged $73. Which could have been ok because it's small shop in Hanover NH (high rent). 1. It took 8 weeks. Dropped it off around 9/8. 2. Framer not in shop, they order frame to send to her off-site. 3. Took over 5 weeks to get the framed work -clerk told me 2-3 wks (had logistical excuses). 4. Framer didn't score the glass right, one edge wasn't clean. They charged a premium. 5. Didn't offer to fix; when I asked (since I'm paying $73), clerk had to text framer off-site and see IF she would fix it. 6. She would, but won't get to it until after 10/21 (whenever convenient for her). No delivery date. Since it's my diploma in a hostage situation, I had to endure. They messed up, charged a lot, no customer service/regret/communication (didn't call when it was going to take longer the first time), wasn't going to rush to correct a mistake. I called a week after 10/21 and they had no idea when I'll get my framed diploma; like I was bothering them by asking questions. 8 weeks of painful experience.
