I love Michael's because of the great deals and products they carry. However I like this location because of the people that work here and the convenience of the area. The workers in here are friendly and quite knowledgeable about where things are located in the store and on certain topics too. That's a big thing for me! If you do crafting or like to make things once in a while this is one of the best places to go outside of a hobby shop!

I have been in several Michaels craft stores in the past few years and the one thing that I could say is that they're all pretty much the same. They always have nice artificial flowers I mean they really look alive, and the prices are reasonable if you managed to catch one of the better sales. They're not very neat, it's like being in an old fashioned 5 and 10 Cents Store oh, you're there for purpose in the sooner you get out the better. If all you're looking for is a few flowers you can get the job done in pretty quickly. It's not a store that you feel good about being in. Parking can be a little frustrating because it's in a very busy strip mall and most of the people in the mall don't know how to drive.

    Custom framing

I've never had anything custom framed before and was a little clueless about where to start. I think that's why it took so long for me to finally get around to framing my wedding photo. I've heard that Michael's does custom framing and there's a location near my office so I decided to give them a shot. I obviously didn't want to be clueless during the ordering process, and I think Nate did a great job of working with me as I faked my way through the process. I wasn't looking to spend a fortune but I wanted it to look nice. He was really helpful in adjusting the various options to get to a price point I felt comfortable with. Plus, his sense of style was on point with the types of frames, matting and color combos. About two weeks later (the estimated time they gave me), I received an email to let me know my frames were done. They even gave me a follow-up call in case I didn't get the email. They were neatly wrapped, but the lady working the frame department during my pick-up unwrapped them to get my approval. I absolutely love how they turned out! In the end of the day, I'm not sure how Michael's price point to other frame shops (maybe frames are just pricy to begin with), but I was very happy with my experience and would go back again next time I need something framed.

    Halloween!

Because they have a library which is pretty damn big too!! :-) :-) :-) Schedules change, but in the fall of 2024 they have organized nights for magic the gathering players ...I think on Mondays and Fridays ... You can still come in, but it's going to be packed. Other nights you can just come in with your friends and play games. How nice is that? Now when a store is giving this much to a community, providing free games to play for anyone who walks in, not to mention game experts who will gladly teach you a game, WHY ARE SOME PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE PRICE OF BUYING A GAME? This is a business. A very, very generous business. They have to make money in order to keep the doors open so that you and your friends can play games here for free. This is not your parents house. :-) Try going to a gaming Cafe where you'll have to rent space and you're expected to buy food or drinks. ...Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking that business model, I'm just saying that *this* business model is freaking generous! Kudos to the owners!

On Tuesday nights starting at 6 pm they have a league for Pathfinder that runs till 10 o'clock or better. Pathfinder is an off shoot of D&D 3.5 and it's amazing. I'm kind on the fence as I want to buy all their stuff, and they're just about to revamp things after 10 years of playing it their own way. To be part of the evening it works best if you sign up through a website called war horn. I've only managed to do it correctly one time, but you might be better at understanding it all. I also have 4 kids so I'm not free to take advantage of it like I'd like. On Thursday nights they do the same for D&D. I know they run 5e, but may be messing around with some of the older versions as well. At the old store, my first visit the people working behind the desk for amazingly welcoming and informative, and maybe even cooler did not ridicule me or disregard me as I was completely new to learning about Pathfinder and their evenings of in-store gaming. Probably because you're in the environment you're going to get somebody who is an Uber gamer/collector and they will seem to gain experience by letting you know your place of new town idiot, but aside from "that dude" the place is worth finding and adding into your social experience.

First floor is a cornocopia of delights and then there is the basement with color splayed all over in random style. Floors painted. Well at least how I remember it. So I hunted for art supplies in Philly on a whim, and there was a sibling! And wandering around on Yelp, I've found yet another! This A&C S is the smallest of the three that I have been so lucky to visit. There is something to be said for a downstairs space to rummage and roam for treasure. While this one is one floor, it is still a worthy member of the clan. I tried to go for just one or two items, but ended up with a slew of pens and pencils. My only regret was the fact that my carry on was the limit, not the items in the store. The staff were a great balance of attentive and laissez-faire. I like being able to enjoy looking at things and touching things without feeling weird or feeling as though sales folks are going to vulture me. I felt welcomed and a part of the store, but not smothered. Also the staff was friendly with each other but did not ignore a single customer in their reach. I liked that balance.

So glad I did, this place was absolutely amazing! And the staff were great as well! If you love legos, anything to do with legos, you have to come here. I found lots of minifig parts, horses, if you want it they have it. I overheard an interview while I was there, and I must say - I would want to work here from hearing that conversation. (Other than it being Lego nirvana) I found a rare set that was missing just a few pieces, and they let me rummage through the mixed bricks and find the missing pieces for no extra charge - I think it was the owner, he even gave me the last three small pieces from the bulk inventory to finish the set. I was truly blown away by that generosity, the atmosphere was great, and the selection was almost too much to take in. If I'm back in the area, I'm coming back here for sure. Thank you!!
