I honestly love this store! It's never easy coming here. I always have a set list of things I need/want but I always go overboard. I just went in to get paint brushes and canvases. I ended up getting that plus new paint brushes AND these really cool ceramic ginger bread houses to paint. MAJOR FYI: always look online for coupons and deals before heading to the register. Took a painting in with me, picked out a frame, and then spent quite a bit of time picking out a mat. A store assistant came over to help me choose the mat. The price for the mat alone was $95.00 WHAT? This is not a large frame or painting. The painting is 8.5" x 11". Of course, I chose to not buy the mat. The rep was annoyed that I didn't want the mat, so when I asked her where the palette paper was she waved me off. I told her I had looked in that aisle and she made no move to see if possibly there was some in stock. read more

This has been the worst Michaels experience I've ever had. They accepted my return through UPS, but never logged it into their system, leaving me without my refund. To make matters worse, the online customer support was extremely unhelpful and provided no real resolution. I generally only come to Michael's with my fiancé when we are in need of home decor items. Never really had an issue at this location until my most recent visit. They have a wide selection of items for all your home needs and DIY projects. The store is clean and very organized. The main reason why this location got 3 stars is because of the service. I went in to buy a 20 x 30 frame that was listed at $14 online but when I went to the register it was priced at $28, which I was not expecting. I pulled up the online listing and they eventually honored the price after a manager helped resolve the issue. At the end of all this, the individual at the register rolled her eyes at me and did not offer a bag to put my items. I'm currently sitting in the parking lot and the store is closed. The website says 9pm but it's 8:30 and no one is there. The note on the door says 8pm and it is the last day to get my package. I love Michael's because of the great deals and products they carry. However I like this location because of the people that work here and the convenience of the area. The workers in here are friendly and quite knowledgeable about where things are located in the store and on certain topics too. That's a big thing for me! I have been in several Michaels craft stores in the past few years and the one thing that I could say is that they're all pretty much the same. They always have nice artificial flowers I mean they really look alive, and the prices are reasonable if you managed to catch one of the better sales. They're not very neat, it's like being in an old fashioned 5 and 10 Cents Store oh, you're there for purpose in the sooner you get out the better. If all you're looking for is a few flowers you can get the job done in pretty quickly. It's not a store that you feel good about being in. Parking can be a little frustrating because it's in a very busy strip mall and most of the people in the mall don't know how to drive. read more

I've never had anything custom framed before and was a little clueless about where to start. I think that's why it took so long for me to finally get around to framing my wedding photo. I've heard that Michael's does custom framing and there's a location near my office so I decided to give them a shot. I obviously didn't want to be clueless during the ordering process, and I think Nate did a great job of working with me as I faked my way through the process. I wasn't looking to spend a fortune but I wanted it to look nice. He was really helpful in adjusting the various options to get to a price point I felt comfortable with. Plus, his sense of style was on point with the types of frames, matting and color combos. About two weeks later (the estimated time they gave me), I received an email to let me know my frames were done. They even gave me a follow-up call in case I didn't get the email. They were neatly wrapped, but the lady working the frame department during my pick-up unwrapped them to get my approval. I absolutely love how they turned out! In the end of the day, I'm not sure how Michael's price point to other frame shops (maybe frames are just pricy to begin with), but I was very happy with my experience and would go back again next time I need something framed. read more

Michaels has a great selection and I usually buy a lot more stuff than I need ;) My favorite time there is the fall because they get all of the amazing Halloween decorations (it is after all my favorite holiday!). To be faor though they have a huge selstion of all seasonal decor as it approacjes. The staff are happy, helpful, and friendly. There are always coupons available ranging from 15 to 50 percent off either online, on your phone or in the Sunday paper. read more

Shopping at Michaels this past Saturday 7/21. Went to pay and presented a coupon that listed no restrictions. Was told by the cashier that the item was excluded from being reduced as it was an "everyday deal"? Or something of the sort. Asked to speak to a manager who told us the same thing, producing a different coupon and showing us the fine print. We stated, as we were walking out, the print was not on or coupon and they were not treating customers fairly by not clearly marking this. The manager replied "all you need to do is read". Super unprofessional, called corporate, person on the other line was not at all helpful and rude. Told me to expect a call back from corporate which I have yet to receive. The employees in Michael's are very helpful... Always! They actually stop and pay you attention when you ask for help, even walking you to the item. The 3 stars is because this is store is a small Michael's and really wish they would expand to include baby shower items. I've been to plenty of Michael's and this one is thee smallest I've ever been to but otherwise it's all good! I wish they also had a bigger selection of ribbon, but I think my local Walmart has a better variety than this Michael's does. I do love the shopping carts and the baskets with wheels are surely a hit with me. My wife and I stopped in to the store to get a picture matted. We were told that the picture would have been done yesterday 7/30 but we never received a phone call from the framing department. I called this morning 7/31 and not only sat on hold for 15, but the women in the framing department who answered the phone was extremely rude, and the tone in her voice was very condescending. I asked her if it would be done by noon today, and She told me that they did not even start the matting yet, and that I might be able to get the picture back today but probably not. We are having a party this weekend and needed the picture back yesterday otherwise we would have went somewhere else. Especially if we would have known that they do not honor their delivery dates for goods. Further more, we would never recommend Michael's for any goods or services. read more

Of the three craft chains I frequent, Michael's is definitely number 3. I'm a crocheter, and the yarn section is just not good. They do not carry that many different types of yarns, just the basics. In my opinion, Michael's is more of a decoration store than a craft store. I went to this location the other day to try and find some drawing supplies for one of my patients, and the selection was pretty limited. Not to mention, actual arts and crafts are hard to find. I finally find something suitable, just to find out that my 50% off one item coupon wasn't valid. Why, you ask? Because all of my items were marked as "everyday low prices." Wtf. Not on sale, just everyday low prices, whatever the hell that means. So they can pretty much slap that meaningless title on anything, and you can't use a coupon on it. I've never had this issue at AC Moore or Joann, and their selections are much better, so there is officially no reason for me to ever visit here again. read more

I came here looking for assistance in framing a poster. Melissa and Tad were really helpful and allowed me to use their scissors and measurement tape. I was able to successfully cut my own poster to the size of one of their frames sold in the store. Melissa was super friendly, accommodating, and patient. Really good qualities for a manager of the store. I can't speak about any of the other items in the store but I was very happy with her customer service. Not worth your time or money! The employees here pretend like you don't exist from the second you enter to the second you leave. Everything is a huge waste of time to them and the biggest inconvenience. I asked for the location of a product they clearly carry (it's online and I've purchased it in store before). I just couldn't remember what isle. I was quickly told that the product didn't exist and he didn't try and find any solution for an alternative. After wasting 15 more minutes searching I found the EXACT product that apparently "didn't exist". Then I go to check out and the cashier is too concerned with her nails and her private conversation to even acknowledge I existed. This Michael's is helpful when I need craft supplies in a pinch, but as someone said already, it's small and the selection is hardly vast. I was looking for gold pearl beads and could not find them on two occasions. I'm thinking now that maybe they just don't sell them here. The spray paint I was looking for was also in low supply or gone on both occasions (I later found it was cheaper at a hardware store anyway). All in all, this is an OK Michael's but the A.C Moore in South Philadelphia is worth the trip. A much wider selection. read more

As someone who rides a craft wave from time to time, Michael's is definitely a big help to me. This particular location has a lot of the basics, but I sometimes can't find items that are in other craft stores. What they don't lack is a helpful staff. If you don't have time to run to one of their other locations, this one should be good for most of your crafting needs. Somehow Michael's is months ahead of every other store when it comes to holidays, so if you happen to need Christmas items in August, this is the place for you. read more

Cashiers are nice. No shopping carts available for the customers. The store, maybe, has 5 carts. Only one was being used by a paying customer. The rest were filled with stock but no employees doing stock. There clearance area is small and sloppy. This visit was for one particular item. I purchased the only remaining one. Got home excited to use it and 98% of the pieces were missing. Obviously the staff doesn't check returned items before restocking. Then again, it's a big craft store so I can't have too many complaints. So I suggest the Michael's in Plymouth Meeting. read more

Very disappointed with this store. Always shop there. I went for some brads for a class I am holding. When I went there today & found out they are making the card, scrapbooking & paper section smaller. This store is already small to begin with. They put the clearance items all the way in the back of the store. My suggestion to the store is put it up front as you walk in you will sell it faster. I feel like who ever is in charge of the ordering has no idea what they are doing. I have taken all 4 of the wilton class's there & loved it. Did do a card class there that was a joke.
