Catherine and Silvia were the absolute best! I came in here about 15 min before they were about to close and being that it was my first time there, I was completely overwhelmed. Luckily, they were very patient, friendly, and super knowledgeable. They even gave me a little mini tour. Speaking of good customer service, on my second visit, I met one of the owners and the same can be said about him. He was just a a great person, overall. Passionate about his business and really down to earth. I could literally talk to him all day. So with that said, this place is amazing! It's bright and airy, fun, clean, and very well stocked, without making it look cluttered. And everything is of great quality. As for the treats, they have a freezer to the left that's full of birthday cakes, cupcakes, and other small cake-like treats. There's also a display case that has a creative display of dog biscuits. It's always a pleasant surprise to see what the chef has created. So far, I've seen burgers/ fries, paws, bones, signs, donuts, and many other colorful designs. I recently went to Michaels for their Cinco de Barko event and they even had themed treats for that! Churro sticks, taco, sombrero treats, as well as a bone broth "margarita" that even came in a mini glass! Too cute! Lol. Speaking of the treats, they have a very nice commercial kitchen with a huge window, so you can see the chef in action. Seriously, their kitchen is nicer and cleaner than what I've seen in a lot of restaurants. If that's not enough, they also have bones/ cowhides, a great selection of chew toys, clothes, beds, and even a dog tent! Finally, around the back of the store, you'll find the grooming area. It also has a seperate entrance, making it easily accessible from the rear parking lot. As for grooming, they offer all grooming services that you can think of and they also have an impressive selection of grooming supplies. I love this pet bakery! I always stop in for holiday goodies for my own pets and the ones I pet-sit. Everything is made there and I haven't come across anything a dog has disliked. They sell birthday cakes and cupcakes for dogs- absolutely adorable. The shop also has accessories and a small cat section. There is also a pet spa available. The shop helps (in various ways) animals in need. They also have a special place in their hearts for the special needs community. I received a $20 discount coupon for this dog focused bakery and boutique as part of a mount pleasant welcome package. It was perfect timing, as my dog's 10th birthday was coming up. Upon walking into the bakery, I found myself inside the cutest pet boutique! There was a display cabinet of homemade treats and cakes in a corner to the left, and the rest of the shop was full of cute leashes, collars, and other fun accessories. Around the back is a grooming salon. The kind ladies at the counter helped me design and customize a special cake for my fur baby. I was genuinely overwhelmed by all the different personalization I could make. It was so fun! I'm a veterinarian so I checked the ingredient list thoroughly and approved of the recipe. There weren't any questionable ingredients or additives. The best part was the price - only $22 for the whole cake and all the customizations. Unbeatable! Needless to say, Hugo LOVED the cake. We had a little dog birthday party for him and shared it with three other dogs. They all had a decent sized piece and none of them experienced any GI upset. Another huge bonus. read more

We are new to the area and we took our dog Lucy, age 11, in for grooming. They were super friendly and were really careful and kind to her. They got her in and out in a timely fashion and she looked terrific. She was actually sleeping by the front desk when I came to get her and that made me feel really good. We of course went to the front of the store and got a special treat and a cute new collar. They have a nice selection and I'm so happy to find a pet bakery with great items. Well done! I never write reviews but I've been going to Michael's Barkery monthly for the past 3 years to groom my dog. They informed me at my last visit that they would be charging me for a larger size dog because my dog is "getting bigger" though he has been an adult size and the same weight for the past 2 1/2 years. While cost is not an issue, the reasoning was not justified to me. They also called me to pick him up from my work which is 40 minutes away only to get there and be told it would be another hour. I have loved supporting this business through the years but felt mistreated as a loyal and longtime customer and am not sure I will be back. read more

I had a few decent experiences here but was unhappy with the communication or lack thereof on a recent visit. My puppy is brushed daily, groomer said she had Some matting and may have to have hair buzzed off to prevent it from getting worse. There was a small amount of matting behind the ear. She told me she needed to pluck the inside of the ears to prevent infection. That was a little confusing because in the past the manager there told us it wasn't needed and only at vet's direction. When I picked up my puppy she looked like a martian. All the hair on the front and back had been shaved. Groomer told me to watch for head shaking because she could get a hematoma which would require a vet visit. I did not know this when I dropped her off. I wouldn't have agreed to the ears if I had known about the chance of hematoma, we went on vacation day after and I have to call for a vet visit while away. After the grooming Nelly developed ear infections in both ears within 24 hours, a $150 vet bill, no hematoma. Communication was ear infection would be avoided if ears plucked, not sure why front of ear itself was shaved. There was one small mat on back of ear. Risk of hematoma was communicated when I arrived to pick her up, if she did develop a hematoma that often requires surgery. read more

We paid a lot for very average grooming and lacking service here. I had high hopes based on how nice the shop in front was and how friendly the staff was there. But with disappointing results and a less than sweet groomer- I think I'll go elsewhere. My dog agrees. Not bad- just not good either. read more

I love Michael's Barkery for so many reasons! They have groomed our Cardigan Corgi a few times and do a terrific job! The deshedding is the best to keep the amount of hair down. We will be doing this once per month! They hire people with disablities! My son being one of them. It has been an amazing experience for him to get into a work environtment that is supportive and positive. Also great for a mom (me!) that has been so worried for the last 18 years about what happens after school and transitioning to adulthood. Thank you, Shawna!
