I usually go to this craft store to grab some supplies. I give it one star because I really needed to change my kids diapers. What's the point of having your customers use the restroom if it has mold and rust? What's the point of providing a public restroom if you can't properly maintain it? I'm definitely a huge fan of arts and crafts and whenever I have a project I'm working on this is my go to place to shop. I love it because there's always a sale, or a coupon that you can use. Not only that if you are a teacher you get an extra 10% off. The store is a bit crowded and can be a bit overwhelming. I usually know what I want when I go in so I can get in there and get out rather quickly. The holidays is the best time to shop because the sales are phenomenal. read more

It's a little outdated and a bit dusty in here. Their extra product is kept on the top of the shelves making it kinda dark and hard to see in places. The bathroom was outdated and super dirty too. They have lots of arts and crafts, custom framing in the back, and odds and ends everywhere. Shelves seem pretty well stocked. They had what I needed but I noticed a distinct lack of sales floor people. There were also two aisles blocked with freight in the two aisles with yarn. read more

You can find almost anything in Michaels! But, for this trip we needed frame matting for a few prints we purchased. As soon as I walked to the frame counter and rang the service bell, Tiffany came right out with a smile to greet us. She listened intently as I explained what we needed. She took the measurements for everything and made sure she was providing us with what we really needed. She went over the invoice with me to triple check. She was very friendly and professional and very pleasant to work with. The materials seemed to be reasonably priced. We had a really great experience! read more

This is the worst Michael's location I have ever seen. It is literally falling apart. The displays are falling down and peeling, merchandise is everywhere, and they don't have an updated inventory on the website. I felt dirty upon entering and couldn't even get anything I needed (despite the website listing it as being at the location and available for same day pickup). I couldn't find anyone who worked there to help me and had to wait in line at the checkout to ask the only person working about the items I needed and all she could say was that their website isn't very accurate. So how was it going to work if I did a same day pickup order for the items that were supposedly at the store? In need of a HUGE upgrade. Very disappointed. read more

I like the sales (especially clearance prices) they offer but I shop at Hobby Lobby more often for a few reasons. 1. This store is usually in some state of disarray when I go. 2. The aisles seem a bit narrow and are tall and it feels a bit claustrophobic. 3. There is a manager who sometimes works the cash register who is RUDE to customers. She doesn't greet you, she gives no eye contact, she will put your change on the counter, and when your transaction is concluded, she does NOT say "thank you" or respond to your "thank you". If you need art & and crafts stuff this is a solid bet... Unless you need a lot of arts & crafts stuff. They have a wide variety of things but they don't stock a large quantity of any of them. Need 2 or 3 photo frames on the cheap? You are set. Need 6 boxes of DIY orange floral wedding invitations? You may be SOL, but here's one to get you started. The employees are always super friendly, which is a plus but it only mildly takes the edge off the fact that I still have to drive across town to another Michael's. read more

I placed an order for a custom frame, it's been almost 2 weeks pass the date they said it would be done and it's still not done. Every time I call they say it should be done tomorrow and they will call once it's finish. They don't follow up and call back. Poor customer experience and I would never do business with them again. read more

I like how every art supply is here, however, the cashier is rude because she does not find a way to solve the customer's issue. I was here during 11am trying to buy some Architectural items for a project and I wanted to pay with my credit card since apple pay is not accepted in this store, so I told the lady if she can fix the card machine and she rejected to sell me the items ( $12.47 ) and she gave me a hard time. Customer service should be for the customers, customers come first. I would've given this place at least a 2 to 3 star, but the bad customer service experience was a 1 or an F. read more

Decided to DIY my Halloween costume this year, so I made my first voyage into Michael's across town to get some "Pom poms". Having bought literally EVERY bag they had, I needed to return those unused and buy other items to complete my project. My first stop was the cashier to make a return. She volunteered to hold on to my bag until I was ready to check out. This store was large and full of all types of sh... stuff that a crafter may need. After a failed attempt of finding felt on my own, I asked a worker where I could find felt. She told me exactly where to go and what would be at the end of the aisle. I was impressed. I ended up asking two other ladies where stuff was and they all knew the answers. I was impressed as it isn't uncommon for people to work in a store, and yet not be familiar with the layout. So kudos for competency and communication. The store seemed cluttered. Not sure whether that's normal or not. It was after 7 and it seemed they were pulling out new inventory, so I won't judge. Good experience. For the non-crafters, like myself, don't get overwhelmed and ask for help. read more

Of the Michaels in Charlotte this one is probably the one I like the least. The store always looks terrible, but that is partially due to it being an older store. The other reason the store looks so terrible is because its a mess (empty and disorganized shelves)! I'm not sure if this store is physically smaller than the other Michaels in the area, but it definitely lacks selection. Lastly, our cashier wasn't friendly and seemed like she was being in convinced by having to ring up customers. For these reasons I generally go to Hobby Lobby or wait until I'm on the other side of Charlotte to go to a different Michaels. read more

I asked if they had any recommendations for seamstresses to sew fabric I wanted to buy there and the women told me no, check google, and then hung up before I could even say goodbye or thank you. They have the usual arts and crafts things that you may need, but if you're looking for a top quality paint brush or oil paint then try to find a speciality art store. They usually have better quality and the prices are a lot cheaper. If you do purchase paint colors then pull the tubs from the back...they're a little fresher. They also have a decent varity of faux flowers where you can make pretty flower arrangemants. I heard that the classes that they give (flower and cake decorating) are decent but I haven't taken one just yet. Once I do I'll leave a review for that as well :) read more

I don't even know where to begin. Visited this location on Monday, December 19 between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00 pm. During those two hours, not one employee greeted me or asked if I needed assistance. Aisles were clogged with carts of boxes for stocking the floor. Items were out of place on shelves. Store overall was untidy and not welcoming. I visited on the recommendation of a co-worker, but after this poor experience, I will go somewhere else for future crafting needs. read more

Unfortunately this is the closest Michaels to me. While the cashiers are typically quite friendly the store is smaller and doesn't offer the greatest selection. I've also noticed that when things are sold out it typically takes weeks for them to be replenished, if ever. Also, the manager tends to argue with people on whether or not e-mailed coupons can be used in the store, often claiming that e-mailed coupons can only be used for online purchases when it clearly says "online and in-store" on the email. read more
