The precious employee in the framing department was kind enough to help me. The individuals at the front desk were too involved with their own conversations to even notice when I literally waved them down for help. (Aka no acknowledgement or anything at all) I needed envelopes and cardstock and while I found an okay selection of cardstock, the customer service turned me off. Outstanding professional customer service!! I called Michaels Chattanooga TN location to inquire about a specific frame which I saw online, but it was out of stock. Haley, a member of the management team in this store, spoke with me and tried to locate the frame. She was extremely knowledgeable and tried to help me find the item so that I could order it online. Unfortunately, the item was in fact out of stock, but Haley was fantastic with outstanding customer service!!! She did some research and provided me with a number of similar frames which were beautiful. Thank you very much!!! read more

I do not recommend this Michael's for custom framing. I recently had a painting framed at Michael's in Chattanooga. I give them 3 stars bc the woman who helped me pick out the frame was very patient and helpful. I give them only 3 stars bc the framing job was sloppy. Unfortunately I didn't notice it until I got home (2.5 hours away). When I came back a couple of weeks later and spoke with the framing manager, she was not helpful. I had already fixed the issue myself and hung the art. I took pictures though and showed her the errors. She was unapologetic, said if I want to bring it back they'll fix it. I told her I already fixed it and it was not convenient for me to return as I lived so far away. Again, unapologetic and didn't offer another option. I wasn't expecting a full refund, but something would have been nice, a small store credit or even an apologetic attitude that reflected that she cared at all. Overall, I was mostly disappointed bc the work was shabby and careless. It seemed to reflect the attitude of the framing manager, so I guess it's not surprising. I have some other art to be framed, and I won't be bringing it to Michael's. read more

The cashier was a sweetheart, she said, she would have the manager override the price. so this negative review only applies to the short, blonde, older manager. The storage containers were small and the regular price was $1.99, I would have paid the regular price, but the manager was less than helpful. This review is based solely on my experience at the Northgate store and manager. This review will be posted on other sites and given to the corporate office. I will never visit this location again. This is by far one of the smallest Michael's I've ever been to, but the store is always clean, neat and the staff is beyond friendly. I've learned to check prices before I go and there is almost always a deal when you order online and pick up in store. Sometimes it's as much as 50% off your entire purchase! If you're looking for an obscure craft item, definitely call before you drive over to make sure they have it! read more

I love crafting stores in general and the Michael's in Hixson is my favorite. Most of my crafting supplies came from this Michael's. They have excellent sales on their seasonal items. All of the material I have used for my wreaths, have come from this store. They have a wide variety of materials. So this Michaels opened as a part of the remodeling of the old theatre strip mall right by Northgate Mall. It's not a huge store, but they've still got plenty of stuff. One thing I did notice, I live by a very small, cramped Michaels, and they seemed to have less cross stitching kits here, but on the other hand the yarn section seems to be larger. The only other thing might be there's less Christmas stuff, but I also kind of compare everything to the craft store I worked at during high school which was seemingly huge (maybe not the size of the Hobby Lobby over on 153 though?) I think more and more you have to find yourself a craft store based on what it is you especially like to do. This one is definitely good for beads, cake making, etc. The store is bright, though I thought at first it wasn't really cramped in here, they've definitely filled the main aisles with displays now and it's kind of unnerving when the store is busy. The checkout is set up sort of like how TJMaxx is now where you stand and wait at this line of registers, but the cashiers have to wave you down. Don't forget you can pull up a 40% off coupon on your phone for a regular priced item! read more

Worst michaels I have ever been to. Sales never seem to be properly advertise next to the product. There are always random boxes or carts left in the isles blocking everyone's way. They never have enough staff on the cash registers. I've seen employees smoking cigarettes in the front of the store right next to the doors. And I know this really isn't their fault but their inventory is not very good and there is not a great variety. read more
