I waited 20 minutes for 3 using fabric to be cut. I pressed a button that says "need help?" 10 min later I still had not been helped. One young girl (thin with long black hair) walked right past- I asked her if she could help me. She kept walking said "I will be right back". I finally left the cutting table (which was not nearly big enough for them to cut fabrics) to look for someone to help me. I found sweet Imani who immediately came to cut my fabric after she finished with her current customer. (The young thin girl finally returned and walked right past us as Imani was cutting my fabric - she never said a word to me after being gone for a long time. I will shop elsewhere for fabric - next time I go to Joanne's! I won't make this mistake ever again. read more

I happened to be in the area and decided to try and pick up a few gift items 15 minutes before closing. Usually at most stores, at that late hour the workers don't want any incoming customers. However, Erick, a young gentlemen (cashier) welcomed me near the entrance and immediately asked if I needed assistance. He directed me to the aisle I needed and then I headed to the next aisle where Daniel (floor staff) came over and asked if I needed assistance. Not only did Daniel assist, but he gave me tips on the baskets best suited for my gift idea and encouraged me to pick out a few for the future; and I did just that. At check out Erick asked if I found what I needed and when I shared that I had not, he checked in to see if stock may have had the item. I haven't had such great customer service in a Michaels location (or other stores actually)in years! I was thoroughly impressed and had to pause to share my gratitude before I forget. Custom framing is a joke. Do not bring your art here. I dropped off a large photo to be framed. Three weeks later, on the date my receipt said it would be ready, I arrived at the store at 430pm to pick it up. I was informed my picture wasn't ready and the framer had to run an errand and wasn't there. It would be finished later so I had to come back at 830pm. I got the picture home and the next morning saw that the photo had slid down and was no longer placed correctly. I called the store and told them what happened. I brought the huge photo back to them to fix it. Two days later, I went to pick it up. Now there was a black mark on the very white mat. I was told that they would fix it ASAP and was given a 50% refund. Try number three was just as bad. Now, the frame appears to have been damaged and a sloppy repair was attempted. Needless to say, I was done. I was given a full refund and got my photo back. A month later, I'm right where I started.... a really great large format photo I need custom framed. I ran into this Michaels yesterday, to find only 2 people working there - the manager and the cashier. There were several people in the store and it seemed like everyone needed help with something - I was one of them. I was a little unhappy that I had to wait for assistance, but when I finally got it by the store manager, Imani, I was pleasantly surprised. She came over, greeted me, and basically did everything to help me with a smile on her face and an unbelievably great attitude. What a treasure Michael's has in her, and the young lady at the counter - sorry, I can't remember your name, but for a store having only two people there, these two were handling it like pros! I'm not a regular Michael's shopper, but this may actually make me one! Thank you both for being enthusiastic about your jobs! read more

First time at this Michael's and it was a good experience. Despite being a busy time of year, there were a limited amount of customers and a short line. The employee I encountered at the register was friendly but the store itself could improve in selection of product. There was only one option for varnish, but it was okay because I did end up finding the size of canvas I needed. read more

1st time here. It was a smaller than ones that I have been in the past. Everyone was helpful, they just didn't have a very good art (color pencils, sketchbooks, easels, paints, etc...) and bead selection. My did find something she wanted. read more

After purchasing some great photography, I did what any other guy would have done, put it in the corner and didn't bother to frame it and hang it. Day after day, I strolled past the pictures, still in the bag. This went on for at least 3 months. I finally came to the realization that the pictures were not going to miraculously frame themselves and jump up on my wall. I grabbed my bag and went to the nearest Michaels. It's located in a big ass lot, so the parking is more than enough. After looking in the frame aisle for about 2 minutes, I knew I needed help. Many thanks to the employee I inquired to. She took the time to look at numerous frames to decide which type suited each picture I had. She also recommended some items for hanging the pictures. I left Michaels a happy camper. Now all I need to do is put the pictures in the frame and hang them up. Let's see how long that takes. read more

I had a horrible experience with having a custom painting framed here. When I went in, I asked about custom framing for a painting I purchased while traveling abroad. I was assured that the end product will be very professional looking, with glass covering, strong hooks on the back, and will look high end. I wanted something high quality for my home and decided this was the place! I paid $243.96 to have the item framed. This was with a supposed 70% discount on framing. A few weeks later, I picked up the framed picture. When I brought it home, I realized the framing looked like it was done by an amateur. It definitely was not the professional-looking customized frame work that I was promised. The painting was put in the frame lopsided and mis-aligned. It literally liked like a child with no experience did it. The painting has sand around the perimeter in about a 3 inches width and it was not properly aligned when framed. I called the store and they asked me to bring it back in. They told me based on the receipt I didn't pay for glass covering and that I can pay for it now. At this point I didn't really trust them. I took the painting back in, and they offered to re-do it. Re-doing it can damage the painting. They offered me 40% refund. The back of the framed work looks cheaply done, and definitely not worth $243.96. If the person who framed it knew that the job was too complex, he she should not have taken the job and given me a call. I would have happily went elsewhere. This work looks is not worth hundreds of dollars. This is definitely not worth the price and it isn't the high quality work I was promised. I still need to take this somewhere to get it fixed. I could have paid a college kid $50 to do this kind of work and it would have been better done. If you have a large painting that needs framing, I do not recommend that you trust this place with your artwork. I cannot believe they even thought the final product was acceptable to give to me the customer after paying hundreds of dollars. read more

Went there after printing off three coupons. I needed to pay for my items, the three items I picked up for my daughter, and two items a friend requested separately. After I paid for mine (with a 15% off coupon), the cashier rang up the next three items as a separate transaction. When I handed him a 50% off coupon, I was told that the coupons were one per day per person. I didn't bother getting my friend's items there since they were more expensive without a coupon than the Walmart a few yards away. If I had another option to get what I needed elsewhere (for the price after the coupon) I would have returned everything on the spot. I didn't realize that I could not use two DIFFERENT coupons for SEPARATE transactions using two different payment methods (cash and credit card). It wasn't like that a year ago. I know I'm not the only one who has to shop for multiple people and how is it really any different than having my teen and friend stand behind me and pay, besides two less person in line? I'm grateful that I was able to apply two coupons this time, but this is the last time they get my business while the single coupon limit is in place. read more
