The past few visits I have gone to Michael's, it has always been a productive shopping trip and often, I'll get around to certain projects when I have time. So many good things to purchase, hard to resist what to get before there's a likely chance it's gone. Recently, I had three custom frame completed. The individual was unbelievable patient, explained if I had questions about the glass selection, and the outcome turned out just what I wanted. We decided to do all three frames the same, preferred the Navy blue color over the Black frame. Completion time only took about a few weeks. Thank you for your help! This is the third time I've selected curbside pickup and been left sitting in my car for over 30 minutes with no communication. Each time, I've had to go inside to ask for my order--completely defeating the purpose of curbside service. Today was the last straw. When I went inside and explained I'd been waiting half an hour, the two employees didn't stop what they were doing (cutting string and blowing up balloons) to help. They responded with attitude and told me to "hold on" instead of resolving the issue. Only after I figured out that I could grab it myself and started to leave did one of them passively say "sorry about that," which just added to my frustration. At no point did anyone mention I could open the locker myself. If you're going to offer curbside service, then actually provide it. And if you're too busy with decorations to fulfill orders, turn that option off. I wasn't the only car waiting. I'm done with this location. I spent $60 to be annoyed today--never again. Save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere. read more

It's like other Michaels except a different layout and give or take more selections. Being that Michaels is a store for crafters my preferred craft is baking. So for my bakers listen here! There's not much but I wouldn't say it's nothing. They have satin ice, Wilton, sweet tooth, celebrate it! Brands, as well as a great fondant/pattern making silicone selection. Their to-go/disposable cake boxes or cupcake boxes are few and slim. I would like to request (Michaels if you're reading this) please add more cupcake and cake boxes or various heights to your baking section! Also if you could do that same for the gift bags! Sprinkles, sanding sugar, fondant, gum paste, isomalt, etc. they have! As well as a great selection of bake ware but it's not going to be your one stop shop. The service is standard and the young lady at the register was friendly! They also have very friendly workers that are actively walking the floor and one checked in with me, which doesn't happen at other Michaels, so that was nice. this past weekend my husband made a trip to Michael's in Edgewater. Either the "manager" and I'm using that term loosely; needs her eyes checked or she was judging my husband because he just came off of work and had his work clothes on because she accused him of stealing $2 paints. when she saw him putting his vape in his pocket, she immediately approached him accused him and then threatened with calling the police. after he made her feel like an idiot she didn't even offer a genuine apology. I understand they need to do their jobs but to be so quick as to accuse my husband of something like that. they are lucky I didn't file a formal complaint to their store. read more

Fairly chaotic store and a lot of aisles of great supplies, but the downside is less of selection than expected due to the half-stocked shelves and a very slow, inefficient check-out that took 15 minutes - where in it was only 1 minute for me to walk in and find the supplies I wanted. I'll regularly go to this Michael's to walk around and browse for craft ideas or holiday decorations. This location's store isn't huge but has all of the essentials and is usually pretty organized. My 5 star review is for their custom framing. I had a painting framed here and was so impressed with their work! Picking the frame was easy as they have technology in-store to create a mock-up of your artwork + frame combo. And I was very happy with the finished product two weeks later! P.S. Unfortunately, this location is understaffed. There are not enough people on the registers during peak hours. Perhaps they can hire a few extra helping hands during the holidays so the line isn't wrapped around the store for people with one item. Their inventory is low too, I prefer going to the one in Wayne or Secaucus since they have a lot more to choose from. read more

Came in with a last minute framing need and met with a young lady Alliah at the Edgewater location, she admitted she hadn't been there that long but was happy to do what she could to help me out. I surrendered the pieces to her that I needed framed, she carefully reviewed and made copious notes, I told her I was sorry but I needed it today, asked her if that would be possible, she smiled and said she'd do her best. An hour later I returned to a perfect project, Ms. Aliah pulled if off in perfect form. Ask for her, she does good work and very pleasant and eager to please, to boot, I will certainly return and more than happy to work with her again. Allah is the kind of person that makes Michaels my go to place to get framing jobs done well. read more

I always come to this Michael's when I need craft supplies, they have so much and it's really big and well stocked. They also have amazing customer service. I recently bought a product that I was not satisfied with after I had used it. I called to see if they would take it back and they had no hesitation since I had the receipt still. The staff was very pleasant. This just stood out to me and I wanted to compliment the manager because she was really kind and apologetic during the whole situation even though it wasn't the stores fault. Before going to the store I searched on-line to see if my items were on sale. It was posted that they were at 50% off. When I got to the store the items were regular price. I was told that the sale was if you purchased on-line then picked them up then they would be on sale. THIS DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. A very nice, well priced, fully stocked up store. It's mostly due to the fact that it's brand new... let's hope they keep this store as clean and neat as it is now. Walking around the store with the wife, I felt like a giant. The shopping carts feel like they were made for anyone who's under 5 feet tall. Michael's took over the space that was vacated by Barnes and Noble. I like going to Michael's stores for arts and crafts, party supplies and most recently, this store saved my behind by having a decent stock of holiday cards on hand (Holiday cards, NOT Christmas cards for clients). There always seem to be a ton of coupons on line and in flyer for 40% off regular priced items. I also bought a bunch of children's crafts items for my nieces and nephew Christmas time activities while waiting for St. Nick. I'm just happy that it's located practically next door and I don't have to travel to satisfy my crafts itch. read more

This is the second Michael's I've been to. Gladly the shopping experience and the store was much better than the one I went to in Rego Park, Queens. This Michael's was quite spacious and each aisle was neatly stocked. I recently visited Michael's to pick up supplies for a gift I am putting together for a gift for my boyfriend. I was surprised that most of the items I bought weren't overpriced. The staff here are friendly and always willing to help if you need assistance. I will definitely be returning to this Michael's more often since it is conveniently located near Mitsuwa Marketplace and tax is slightly cheaper in New Jersey. read more

I went this location at first time. Lots of selection by craft categories but seems like a bit poor side of the sewing section. I think cuz of the season, I see the bunch of knitting materials but basic sewing items were not really there. such as zippers, tapes, snaps. luckily, I got what I need but took the car over to this store and if I couldn't find what I need will be too painful.. I hope they will fill more items soon. read more

Very rude staff. I called and asked if there was something I could do about an Easel that was purchased for a friend. I explained the directions were ripped and it also seemed as though there may be a piece missing. When I asked if they would be able to assemble it I got an "uuuummmmmm nooooo". I realize it may not be what they do but if you have trouble assembling a bike from toys R us they assemble it. I told him the instructions were on the label and no noticeable as it was on the inside so when you open it the instructions ripped. The first person I spoke with was just as sarcastic and nasty. I'd rather order in amazon prime for half the price and delivered in 2 days. I won't shop there. read more

One of their larger stores with the bonus of being located next to the River Walk in Edgewater. So in nice weather, you can gather your knitting supplies and relax and knit by the river! Like all Michael's, this one was stocked with an amazing array of supplies for every conceivable craft. This one also, when I went, unfortunately, had some kind of holiday scent permeating the air. I couldn't figure out whether it was from candles or some spray but it made my eyes water and gave me a headache. Michael's managers remember people have allergies! Be gentle with the scent..we all know Thanksgiving and Christmas is just around the bend. Other than that complaint, I love, love to browse and shop at any Michael's Arts and Crafts store. read more

I went to buy a 50 pack of paint brushes and I waited on line- 1 checkout person. I get to the register and ask if they are in stock. She tells me they are - isle 75. I go there and they aren't there. I have to get back on line and now get the manager Saria- cocky, arrogant , girl. She tried tell me first they were supposed to come in yesterday but came in today. When I ask if I could get them she proceeds to tell me that if I want I could go to the back and see the mess and look for them. I asked if they have an employee to look for me and she said it is a mess - no that they probably wouldn't be on the shelf until Monday. I asked why they are showing in stock and she made up another story about the delivery. I told her she had a bad attitude and she said "Thank you". You can be sure I will never shop there again! This is one of Michael's smaller stores. However, there are many options of everything that you will need here and it is clean and organized. This is part of a mini mall so there's easy parking. It's also open late. I did have a disappointing experience here while Christmas decor shopping on a weekday evening. I was interested in a specific item that consisted of 3 pieces and could not find an attendant to help me. This is an ongoing problem at Michael's stores; there are never any associates on the floor that are easily accessible. When I finally got someone from the register come and help me (she sighed loudly when she had to walk away from what she was doing), she advised that this was the last item that was left. For some reason, she didn't offer to look up the item to see if it was available in nearby store or offer me the display. When I asked her if I can purchase the display, she said that she didn't know but didn't bother to find out either. She didn't even refer me to the online site. On 4/20, we dropped a puzzle for custom frame. They told us that it would be ready in two weeks. After two weeks we stopped by (they didnt bother to call) and found out that it came in wrong size and they needed to order it again. Today (5/16) i stopped by to pick it up and saw a scratch on the frame. And they were just sorry and they said they would re-order, which will be ready by Tuesday. And there is a sign that they guarantee happiness. We will not use their frame service again! read more

This is the last time I will shop at Michaels. First of all, the selections for a "craft" shop are very minimal in most departments. Then when you do find something, there is generally one person on the register. Today finished it. I was waiting in a line with 6 people while the only person on the register was dealing with a problem that a customer had. We waited a while, then I saw the manager near the register talking to someone. My asked if he could open another register...at this point there were eight people in line. He didn't respond to me, continued to talk to someone, then walked away. It was finally my turn to pay, and at that point the line was still long, and another cashier showed up. Do not trust them to frame anything of value. They ruined one of a set of four prints and never even called me to tell me about it. I had to call them to find out about it since I hadn't heard from them for two weeks since I dropped them off. It's my fault for trusting them again though as we have a very expensive oversized photograph framed by them and it has been curling up in the corner since I had it done 5 months ago. Update: They did wind up reimbursing for the picture and were very nice about the whole thing. Took a little longer than I would have liked but they made it right. read more

Rude staff. Came here on a Sunday evening. Lots of workers randomly milling about the store but only one cashier open. Young girl with long brown hair looked just miserable. She barely mustered a "Hi," had zero energy, and just made me feel crappy with her utter lack of courtesy. I had 2 large delicate embroideries that required identical frames as a Christmas gift. Michaels was very expensive (despite discount) but it was nearby. One item came back framed. But I was told the other frame had been shipped In the wrong size or broken (depending on who was doing the telling). After two more weeks, I was told the frame was no longer in stock. They thought it would come back in stock. Three more weeks, no frame. They have no idea if that frame will ever be restocked. Hence, no gift. Phone calls to customer care were treated with complete indifference. Why would I ever shop at Michaels again? read more

After a while, some other stuff member appeared to put everything in place while we were still checking what we were about to buy; this lack of courtesy made us think we wont shop at Michael anymore. read more

I absolutely love this store. The associates are extremely nice and helpful. The lines do get very long and it is annoying to wait, but it is not their fault it is usually the customer returning a bunch of things with no receipt that hold up the line. I miss the Barnes and Nobles, but I do prefer an arts and crafts store that meets my every need! read more
