I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience deserves attention…read more I returned an online order within the stated 90-day return window, with proof of purchase, and followed the store's instructions. Despite that, I was told the refund could NOT be issued back to my original payment method and that only store credit would be provided due to "system limitations" between online and in-store purchases. What followed was hours of confusion, conflicting instructions from staff and management, and repeated customer service emails that ultimately confirmed there is no ability to issue a refund to the original card--even when the return is valid and within policy. This is not a small detail. The website states items can be returned within 90 days, which reasonably implies a standard refund if the return is valid. That is not what actually happens when returning online orders in-store. After multiple attempts to resolve this, I was still offered only store credit or conditional workarounds, not a refund. At minimum, customers deserve clear, upfront disclosure that online purchases returned in-store will NOT be refunded to the original payment method. That is a significant and misleading gap in expectation vs. reality. I am sharing this so other customers are not surprised after the fact the way I was.

Hobby Lobby - Great price with 50% discount on framing at Hobby Lobby. We could not be happier with results.

They chose to act curt and dismissive rather than be friendly and apologetic. When I brought the matter to the owner's attention he questioned his staff, they lied to him about how they handled the situation, and he choose to believe them and responded to me that my "claim was unfounded" (in laymen's terms that means I'm a liar). I responded to this by telling him the only option he left me was to share my experience online. He replied to this, in writing, that he would take legal action against me if I left a negative review. He literally threatened to sue me if I spoke against him. When i spoke to the corporate office each representative was absolutely appalled by this. His threat didn't deter me from writing a review on his Facebook page. Several days later he disabled the ability to leave reviews, thus deleting what I wrote in the process. A very sneaky and underhanded move on his part and a very clear reflection of his moral character. The store, itself, is nice. But the owner is the epoitome of everything that is wrong with customer service in the present day. He is rude, arrogant, dismissive, manipulative, and lacks the ability to take even the smallest bit of accountability. Rather than apologize, he'd rather try to cover up, delete, and hide. If you work as hard as I do, then I encourage you to spend your money somewhere else. ANYWHERE else ......

Oxide Pottery brings fancy, schmancy big-city pottery to little ol' downtown Lynchburg…read more This great, little local business is within easy walking distance of the Craddock Terry Hotel and the city market. But its proximity to other cool places is just the beginning. Oxide features works by three different potters and whether you like your clay to be fashioned in a way that is more modern or more traditional, they've got pottery for everyone. On a recent visit I browsed everything from plates, bowls, and vases to honey jars and shot glasses. They even had cute, little handmade gift tags for those of you (not me) who are generous enough to by something at Oxide for someone other than yourself. Even if pottery is not one of your everyday purchases, Oxide is worth a visit so you can see a truly amazing work of art that is literally built into the front wall of the store ... at first glance the front wall looks very white and clean but closer observation reveals that the wall features imprints of hundreds of items from the whimsical (small hearts and stars) to the everyday (scissors and wrenches). The wall, which looks like a freshly scrubbed fossil and covers the entire front of the store, was made by the owner - who must have the patience of a saint - by creating a mold of each item. After creating molds, he cast many, many objects and then literally covered the wall by piecing together the letters, objects, and shapes. This wall is truly the sum of its parts. The pottery is beautiful and the wall is a man-made wonder!
