5 stars. The service at this Dragon Fire games shop is AMAZING. The employees and shop owner are super kind and knowledgeable about various TCG's. Every time I walk into the store I leave feeling refreshed. They have an amazing wide selection of singles and sealed product from various TCG's that I think almost anyone could find a card or item they like. At first, I was thrown by how TCG-focused Dragon Fire Games is, with most of its space taken up by play space. But this place is a true gem. The owner, Evan, is very kind and personable and it's clear he wants to encourage a positive gaming community in Lynchburg. He's also a great businessman, which is essential because when a business does good, I really want them to flourish and stick around. All the employees here are likewise kind, funny, and helpful- I've never felt ignored or treated poorly at all. The space has restrooms, cheap sodas and Gatorade, gorgeous dice sets, card packs, TTRPG books, and more. I've now played a few Lorcana casual league and tournament events here, and Dragon Fire Games has definitely succeeded in fostering a safe and inclusive space for gamers (especially us older-aged gamers and newbies). I wish I was able to hang out here more often (and that the games didn't go so very late, for me), but I'm very grateful to have found this place and for Evan's continued management of the space. The owner was very friendly! He was extremely knowledgeable and welcoming. It's the kind of place that anyone can enjoy. He's very willing to order anything that you desire that isn't in the store and he even offered a 10% discount to boot! read more

Very much not my thing. I thought this was a comic and toy store as well as a gaming shop. It was categorized as a toy store in the Yelp listings. I walked in and they must have been just finishing up a gaming event. There were about 6 people including one very hyperactive little kid running at full speed around the store. I browsed the very limited selection of a few games, and spent about 10 minutes in the store. No one bothered to so much as recognize that I had walked in. Loss of stars is based fully on customer service. I can't rate based on the type of store. read more

This is a hidden gem in Lynchburg. Locally owned and operated. They have a great selection of all things RPG. Their game groups are welcoming, consistent, and friendly. It's a great place to play or buy gifts for your DnD, Magic, or other RPG game player. read more

Wonderful facility and great staff. They sell a wide variety of magic the gathering cards and accessories and model kits/tabletop gaming equipment. This facility when it comes to tabletop gaming mostly sell a large variety of Warhammer memorabilia. They have different tournaments that go on throughout the week for example Yu-Gi-Oh, Warhammer 40K, and magically gathering. It's a great place to hang out with friends however it can be a bit cramped at times being that it is a smaller facility other than that great place to hang out. read more

This is a local trading card/tabletop game store. I've lived a lot of places with gaming stores, and I've seen more than a fair bit of them close because of lack of community support(because of people avoiding game store prices shopping online). Let me tell you, this store for being what I consider a smaller store, is amazing. I play tabletop games(warhammer 40,000), and while there's only 1 permanent gaming table the owner has retrofitted boards and gaming mats that fit the folding trading card game tables perfectly. We've had players come from as far as Roanoke and Richmond to play here in events. Events are fairly regular, and the online presence in the Lynchburg tabletop gamers' group makes this place one of the best stores I've ever had the pleasure to play/shop at. The owner is supremely helpful and kind, and even though he's running a business he's very understanding, generous, and fair. We've had events that have accommodated over 16 players, which for tabletop is nothing shabby(the biggest store I've ever played at managed to accommodate 32 players, but that's extremely unusual). The average game store typically won't be able to fit more than about 8-12 players in my experience. Scott(the owner) is a guy that values his loyal customers(and has rewarded his most loyal on more than one occasion), and the local community is pretty unapologetically vocal about giving people who take the cheap way out a hard time, and as someone who's watched multiple gaming stores close including two games workshops close due to that behavior, I can say I have no love for those who refuse to shop local. This is a real gem of a shop tucked in Lynchburg, VA and I expect it to become/remain the best gaming shop between Roanoke and Richmond/Charlottesville(and in time maybe even carve out a bigger kingdom). The street parking isn't great, but they have a good parking lot out back and the rear door is for customer use so you don't have to carry all your stuff in around the building. Additionally, the shop has done relatively well carrying electronic cigarette supplies, snacks, drinks, and is two shops down from a good Chinese/Japanese restaurant that does carry out. If you're curious about tabletop gaming or play Magic/Yugioh or anything like that, come on in. The crowd is super friendly, and respectful to a point people have no problem bringing their younger children. I do advise however, the magic crowd here is HUGE in the area on Friday nights, so if you're looking for tabletop gaming, make sure you're wrapping up before 7pm or you might find it a tiny bit loud(obviously if you're a magic player get the heck in there). read more

I came in with my 3 year old daughter to check things out. I've never participated in this type of gaming but I'm interested. The owner was nice and welcoming. We chatted for a few minutes and looked around the store and watched a couple of groups play at the tables. I'll be back once I learn more. read more
