Between cheap overseas manufacturers & the general online "worldwide marketplace," local hobby…read moreshops have almost become a thing of the past. But during my first visit to Mike's Models, I remembered exactly why hobby shops are so crucial to the craft of model aviation. I recently purchased two beautiful .90 size models, from the family of a Shawnee area veteran, now deceased nearly 15 years. While my past modeling experience has been primarily related to small electric park flyers, I was terribly excited to get these two 1/4 scale planes back into the air. After some online searching, I purchased some parts and radio equipment to bring these planes up to date. However, time after time I would receive an order of parts, only to find that I still needed an extra nickel or dime sized component to advance my rehab. When I finally made the drive out to Mike's Models, I was pleasantly surprised. Not only did I enjoy shop talk with three experienced modelers, but Mike had everything I needed to get my project back on track toward completion! Following some light conversation about the equipment I had recently acquired, Mike handed me the parts I needed out of his current stock. No waiting for online orders, and prices were perfectly on par. After purchasing the parts, he was also kind enough to show me some interesting airplane build projects that he had in process. While I probably wouldn't consider this the typical customer experience, I can say that Mike is tremendously welcoming and genuinely excited about his hobby & craft. So you've always wanted to get into model aviation, but don't know where to start. You've read some blogs, bought a few inexpensive models from overseas, but haven't found success. It's time to confer with the local professional. Consider supporting your local model aviation expert and head down to Mike's Models. He has years of experience, plenty of stock on hand, and would love to share his passion for model aviation with you. Do it for the sake of the hobby, and do it for the sake of our community. Business owners like Mike depend on people like you and me!

After doing my due diligence over the past few months I had narrowed it down to a few great metal detectors but knowing I am just getting into the field I had lots questions and definitely some anxiety even after reading up on the subject matter and watching many hours of YouTube videos it was Bart's wealth of knowledge that got me across the finish line. My package arrived in about 5 days all in tact without any damage, it was a breeze to assemble I down loaded the manual after placing my order and read it several times cover to cover which definitely made it simple and also allowed me to get acquainted with the controls and operations, I highly recommend you do this if this is in your future plans. Bart provided me with some invaluable information during my decision making process and prior me pulling the trigger on this purchase and I couldn't be happier with my decision and confident I made the right choice - it's not a cheap hobby and I definitely didn't want any buyers remorse after spending this amount of money, remember it more than the price of the detector it can be fairly expensive to gear up correctly for this hobby. After my experience and the service that Bart provided that goes well beyond taking an order I feel confident that I'll be a return customer well into the future...

And if you're employed here I would start seeking employment elsewhere because this business is headed towards federal investigation and shutdown. The corruption spreads to multiple state police departments and the CEO himself. Look up "Bricks and Minifigs Lego scandal" so far it's one person with a 200,000$ collection.
