Olfactory overload! Wow. I felt as though I had dove into a Yankee Candle Autumn Spice pillar candle when I entered here. Still can't shake the smell. It's one thing to be overwhelmed by scent when you go into a Lush or other perfumery, but a crafts store? I was also amazed at the amount of faux flowers and stick wreaths. What do people do with all that crap? Maybe not much since there was so much still in the store. I'm not much of a DIY craft person. I'd like to be, but I become project ADD about half way through. But maybe I'd be more inspired to make an effort if I actually enjoyed shopping for the supplies. There is nothing I like about shopping here. A lot of the crap looks cheap, or maybe they just need a better merchandising department. Kmart has it together better than these guys. I think next time I'll check out Crafty Planet...from the other reviews, they seem to be on my level more. And who knows, I might just discover my inner Martha.

Little thought was given to the consequences of crowding the aisles with product displays making the store difficult for someone with mobility challenges. I dropped a few brushes (which I did buy) and because it is difficult for me to bend that far I cried out for help several times using my announcer voice. Everyone in the store would have to hear this unless they were wearing headphones. No one responded. After waiting a bit I struggled to get the items off the ground. Finally someone came but it was too late. She stood directly in front of me preventing me from reaching the register. People in general have no awareness of disability. The employee who rang me up obviously didn't know how to have a short friendly chat. It made me feel unwelcome, as if I were disturbing her somehow. I have a long retail history and can't imagine why someone would treat a customer that way. It's unfriendly. She was capable of the simplest basics of operating a register. Unkind. Luckily I don't need to visit often.

I came here because I needed a replacement Micron 005 pen, which is a favorite among artists. I'd checked online and saw they carried them (as did Michael's, but I'm looking to vote with my dollars and spend more appropriately), but elsewise wasn't sure what to expect on my visit. I was pleasantly surprised and I am certain I will be back in the future for projects I have planned. There's stuff here that you just won't find at any big box craft store. That said, this store caters primarily to painters and drawers. This isn't a store to get kid's art supplies; it's a place for adult artists to shop. Canvases (reasonably priced) in a multitude of dimensions (some taller than I am), a staggering assortment of oil paints, paint pens, acrylic leather paint (designed to flex), a massive number of Copics, pastels/charcoal/conte crayon, Sculpey, watercolor supplies including Arches large format single sheets, huge selection of high quality spray paints, canvas sold by the yard on rollers, resin making supplies (including face masks/goggles), gloss glazes for your ceramic firing projects, mechanical pencil leads in every gauge and hardness you could desire, journals/sketchbooks, storage and easels, impulse items like stickers/greeting cards/candy towards the registers, a massive custom framing counter and a canvas stretching counter as well. The employees were all friendly and eager to help. I got asked while I was browsing if I needed any help finding anything. (I did actually need help finding the Microns but my goofy butt auto responded I was just having fun looking... which I was, but LOL I could've also used the help. I'm just so used to turning down assistance.) There's bathrooms in the back if you have need. They are gender neutral, hooray! Nothing fancy, but all functional and clean enough. The surface parking lot is a bit small (and many of the spaces are 30 minute maximum), but there's also plenty of garages nearby as well. It was pretty busy when I was there on a Friday afternoon!

Not to shocking but glad to see they've worked out their staffing issues. I'll say this store is pretty organized and decently stocked most times. It's always when I'm looking for a particular item they are out of it or I can't find it even though I check online first. I mostly only see staff working in the front end of the store near the registers the times I'm here. I don't really feel like the EP location is any bigger but they seem to carry a bit more than this location. Overall I like that they have a rewards now & self checkout!!

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and once informed it was our first time, we were provided guidance. I'd recommend using their event calendar to see deals they run weekly and in this case it was a BOGO since the studio fee for them is $10/person but it'll be $5/person on specific days. The selection was vast and there's something for everyone, I'd say their main pieces average between $23-$30 and theres larger pieces over that and since the holidays are coming up, ornaments were available too. Love the color selection and examples, I wished I had more time to spend on my piece but that's because I came less than 1.5hr from closing. So I would recommend more time vs less, they don't rush you and if you don't finish before closing they did offer that we could come back and finish painting. They did have some problems with their card reader but easy enough to manually entering in the card number but something to keep in mind if you're used to just tap to pay! I'm excited to pick up my piece but it's a fun activity for a date night, hangout, or even just independent time! If you like painting, would recommend!

I dropped the truck off for repair, and while I understood repairs can sometimes take a while, the process took a very long time. Eventually, I received one phone call letting me know the repair had been completed. Unfortunately, after 90 days of not picking it up, I later learned that the truck had been surrendered. What's hardest for me to understand is that I never received a second phone call, voicemail, warning, or any kind of notice that my truck was about to be surrendered. Not one. What makes this especially frustrating is that over the years I've received numerous phone calls from the store over much smaller things -- special-ordered parts, minor items, and other routine pickups. So it's difficult for me to understand why there wasn't more effort made to contact me over something worth nearly $2,000 and carrying so much personal value. This hobby store means a lot to me personally. My late father used to take me there when I was younger, and some of my best memories with him came from spending time there together. These days, I love bringing my own two children there and sharing the same hobby with them. That's why this situation feels so devastating. It wasn't just an RC truck to me. It represented years of memories, time, money, and something meaningful I shared across generations of my family. I understand businesses have policies, and I'm not trying to attack anyone personally. I just truly wish more effort had been made before permanently surrendering something that clearly meant so much to a longtime customer. I still hope there's some way this situation can be made right.
