I left with three hanks of hand-spun and -dyed yarn after extensive deliberation. I knew for certain I would never step foot in a Jo-Ann again. The environment inside feels more like an eclectic knitter's home than a shop. Draping shawls hang from the ceilings, wrapped around the furniture, alongside a plethora of beautiful yarns of all colors. Debra's yarn comes in small batches, but yarn from the same batch is never the same--each skein is unique, some even featuring multiple materials bound together. The speckles of color bring life to the knitwear scattered around the room. Even with the diversity of the yarns, there's something cohesive about Debra's creations. I purchased three skeins of superwash merino yarn. They are not only beautiful, but are soft and stretchy as well, perfect for any project meant to be worn (or anything else, if I'm honest--they're fantastic.) The unique blends of colors pop in my stash, and even the solid is gorgeous. If you're a knitter in the Sarasota area--or even just visiting--Picasso's Moon is a must.
