Well it's the day before the 4th of July and we thought it a good idea to go to Michael's to pick up some patriotic merch to decorate our home for this wonderful 250 th holiday celebration. To my disappointment Micheal's selection of this patriotic display was weak if not horribly unacceptable. I found it hard to believe that this store who decorates to the hilt for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and whatever holiday we celebrate can not have a decent display for this very special holidays goods, ie, flags, signs, T-shirts, etc. We found one section that encompassed an area of shelf's, 4ft. long with a minimum of patriotic (4th July goods). As a US veteran, that loves my country I found it hard to believe that this store could not provide any patriotic products worthy of purchasing. I discussed this with the store manager to express my feelings. This young lady really couldn't defend the store very much over my concerns for the lack of holiday participation at her store, Micheals. It's a shame that Micheal's couldn't celebrate our nations 250th birthday. It's good that they keep Halloween and the other holidays more important than our freedom!! read more

This is my go to location for everything Crochet needing crafting. It comes second to Hobby lobby I stopped by here to pick up some clearance items and I was very satisfied with the Caron cakes and some of the yarn that Michael's took cover from the bankrupt Joanne fabrics. The service is good. They have all these young girls very eager to serve and very friendly so I did enjoy that quite a bit. There was great selection of clearance items and as a small business owner, I was very excited to grab a lot of of the yarns on clearance value absolutely wonderful I picked up all of the yarn that retail at $13-$15 for five dollars apiece. What I also like is that they sent me discount coupons and vouchers anytime I make a purchase and so I was able to use a $15 voucher and pretty much picked. Jan was $100 for $15. I had a very disappointing experience with an associate named Tyler at this location.she was extremely unprofessional, dismissive, and seemed annoyed that I even needed help. When I asked a simple question, he responded with attitude and made me feel like I was bothering him. Customer service is so important, and his behavior completely ruined my visit. I like this location but unfortunately it doesn't have a scooter for disabled or people that need one due to injury. I find it strange because other locations have them. It's already unfortunate that as a customer I have pay through self checkout during holiday time. Excuse me for forgetting an item I paid for with a receipt proving it, just to be told that I have to wait 24 hours for a manager to review tapes to make sure I actually am telling the truth. 4.99, that's how much it costs. She comes back and says put in your customer number at self check out and let me know if you need help. I came in close to closing time a few days ago needing a lot of thing for a last minute craft project. Alexis and Elizabeth were both very helpful in helping me find everything I needed. With all this time indoors I finished decided to paint a table I received from my grandfather after his passing. I'm not a professional so I wanted to keep it simple. I go to this michaels quite frequently but it's mainly for paint. I do notice the shelves are not always fully stocked so there are times you may not find what your looking for. I've been coming to this location for about a year and I honestly don't think I've ever spoken with an employee other then the cashier. The service is usually great, but today a girl named Carissa was working the register. There was no one in line for the assistance register and I had coupons to scan so I didn't want to use self check out. I walked past Carissa and she saw me waiting at the check out. I looked at her while I waited with my stuff on the counter and credit card pulled out and she asked if I was paying cash or credit. I said credit card, signaled to the desk, and asked to be checked out. She then asked if I wanted to use self checkout, to which I explicitly said no! She then points to the self checkout, tells me to use it, and walks away. I was genuinely shocked and chalked it up to a lack of competence on her end; but after a minute or two later without receiving help and I start to get annoyed. She continues to look over to me in the corner, at this point she just started helping another woman knowing that I'm waiting and I'm upset. I tell her I've asked her twice now for help and she just claims she, 'didn't know...' shocker. After a bit more waiting another woman finally comes to help me while Carissa stood behind me nearby. Man this place is terrible. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised given the reviews but sheesh. I placed a pick up order for a few things. I received confirmation and everything that my order was ready for curbside pickup. I pull up to the dedicated and follow the prompts in the link that was texted to me. I'm in no rush and my expectations are already really low so I proceed to wait for THIRTY MINUTES! Ughhh. After 30 minutes of sitting in my car I walk to the nearest cashier to let them know I've been waiting on a curbside pickup order. The lady who helped me was kind enough. We walked to the front where pickup orders would be and she asked my name. My order was not found at the front so the lady walked to the back to retrieve my items. She seemed to be genuinely apologetic and let me know that if there are any problems or I need to return anything, I could do so and that the receipt was in the bag. I used to work here in 2018-2019. It was the worst working experience I've ever had. Management never bothered remembering my name even after 6 months of working there. I was making $8 an hour while brand new workers, specifically a friend of mine, was making $9! After six months of employment I asked for a raise and they denied this; I quit the following day. I was not a bad employee; they rewarded me CANDY BARS for being a good employee. I do my job right for customer satisfaction and money... NOT candy. This location always has everything you might need but they seem to move things around a lot! Sometimes the staff doesn't know where things are. I supremely and passionately love crafting. I dislike this store with almost the same passion. No employee will speak to you, no greeting, no help. Employees will completely ignore you while you are struggling to get things off of shelves with items falling all around you. The whole place is disorganized and a little dirty and it's obvious that no one gives a damn. Framing is outrageously, stupidly expensive. For what we wound up paying we could have gone to a real frame shop for less money and a better frame. The item that they framed looks terrible with the edges covered, looks very amateurish. I'm certain I could've done a better job and probably should've tried it first myself. $300 to frame one midsize picture would lead you to believe that it was going to be stellar. When we got there to pick it up the print wasn't even seated in the frame correctly and the girl working the framing counter had to go find the framer so she could come and fix it. Again, it just looks terrible. The pictures we framed ourselves look so much better. Will never ever ever use Michael's for framing again. I'm fairly certain the only thing that will bring me back to the store is it's proximity to my house. But trust me, if I can get it at Walmart or Joann's and I'm not in a hurry that's where I'm going. This store depresses me. read more

I went to the John's Creek Michael's to get a can of snow for my holiday decorations. After wondering thru the store, I eventually found an associate. Although she was walking away from me she was still in ear length of hearing me say "excuse me." She kept walking and only turned around when I repeated myself. Even then, she just looked at me and then kept walking to get the long hook they use to grab things up high. She never spoke a word until I asked about the snow. I apologized for interrupting her, and proceeded in the direction she pointed in. As much as I was dismayed, I chalked it up to her having a bad day. Sadly, I had a similar interaction with 2 other employees the next day when I returned for clear treat bags and a bow for my reef. After roaming the store looking for the floral counter, I found a young man stocking and asked about the bags. He asked another associate who then pointed toward the bins up front. Needless to say, there were no treat bags in the bins. I found another associate on the move and inquired about the bags and the bow only to be dismissed that she too treated me like I interrupted her day. She never stopped walking as I followed her to their baking section where I eventually found the bags. I inquired about the bow only to find that Michael's no longer has a floral counter. May I add that they also no longer offer anything remotely close to customer service or satisfaction. I only wonder if they are closing? I can't blame their poor attitude on the pandemic. After flagging down someone for help I was dismayed to find that she showed little interest in assisting me. I saw barely any hand sanatizing stations in the store. most of the workers weren't wearing masks, and the few that were were wearing them incorrectly with there mouth, and/or nose exposed. Wearing mask in the store wasn't even encouraged by the staff. In my opinion, this is very very unprofessional for such a big corporation to do. I have several pieces of metal art that I purchased here and I really love them. Now, those types of items are long gone and all they seem to carry is just a limited amount of craft items. Horrible experience with an employee ! So I'm the type that always forgets to bring my coupon in the store. I decided to take a picture of the coupon so I wouldn't forget. I made 2 separate transactions and on the second one, I remembered my coupon.. of course my phone was dying. I told her I had a coupon but my phone died and she said.. oh well! I made the transaction without the coupon. I went to my car to charge my phone determined to use the coupon. I returned only for her to tell me she couldn't honor it because it was from a previous purchase(3 minutes before!) I then asked if she could return the items and I would rebuy them, and she said she would return the items and restock the items and I would have to shop for them all over again.. what a mean spirited, unprofessional, superhero she was! I asked to speak to her manager multiple times, finally I got the manager who was helpful.The manger apologized, asked her to walk away because she was smirking and rolling her eyes the entire time..she is a Very mature looking woman so I was taken back by her childish behavior. She then walked in the opposite direction that she was advised by her manager, very close to me in a physical confrontational manner..I had to advise her to heed the direction of her manager.. all for a $3 difference. My 6 year old daughter was with me and had to witness all of this as we were trying to buy crafts for a Disney cruise door decoration..I wish I had gone to Hobby Lobby.. their coupon is 40% off everyday, easy to down load to your phone and never an issue. The custom framing is AWFUL, I wanted to frame my soft pastel piece, and they apparently have no experience with that. I have no knowledge with framing terminology but I specified that I wanted the mat to be elevated over the piece. Instead they gave me a floating math meaning that the piece was right up against the glass which is a HUGE no no for pastel pieces as it will for sure get damaged. Will definitely never come here again for custom framing, it seems that the team there is very inexperienced with framing techniques. Not to mention it was very overpriced. The sale was 2 for $6 but when they went to pay the cashier rudely told them that the sale was only for small sizes emphasizing the word small. When my husband called to complain, the manager Chastity laughed at him and laughed at the girls situation. As a plus size myself I was mortified for these young ladies.
