Be aware that some paints are not dishwasher safe. You'll know by confirming with an employee or if there's a specific letter in the paint numbers of your paint tube. You can grab an apron to avoid paint on yourself. If you do get paint on yourself it's able to be washed out but I didn't want to try it. There's one hand wash station where you will also drop off your used paint tiles and paint brushes. Once you get the run down on what to do from an employee you're on your own. There's a display that shows how your paint will look on your pottery depending on if you do 1-3 coats of paint. Time will fly quickly so I painted as much as I could and went over areas a lot. You can have finished pottery shipped to you but it could be more cost-effective to have one person pick up all the pottery if you have multiple and ship it yourself. When you pick up your pottery you'll get to carry it out in the store's new reusable bag. It was very cute. There's not much parking outside but that's the area for you. It's a fun activity to do with a group. Sometimes there might be no conversation going depending on how focused people are on painting but it's also a good time to unwind and turn your brain off.

We settled on All Fired Up in Alpharetta because it was inside but most importantly it was an activity...10 & 7 year olds only have so much of an attention span when hanging out with adults 60+.... I looked online and they suggested reserving a table to make sure you had space BUT the reservation date window was closed online - they want you to do it 3 days in advance (I was 2 days), so I called... They reserved us a table easy peasy. Parking is a little difficult because it's not close to the main Downtown Alpharetta Parking lot - so if you have little kids that aren't easy to contain or don't want to walk far you have to hunt. I parked right off the street (but I got lucky). Give yourself some time to find parking. We walked in and the girl behind the counter was very friendly and super helpful. She explained to my kids what to do in a way that was engaging and they listened. All the ceramics to paint were on the walls grouped by category for the most part. Both of mine painted boxes - $26/$28. My friends painted a light switch and flower - $12/$15 You pick your piece then head to the paint wall and pick up the colors - they suggest no more than 3 colors but it's up to you what and how much. They did say the more "coats of paint" the better it'll look when it's fired. We painted and talked and enjoyed ourselves. Four items came to about $95 which is perfectly fine for an afternoon activity that you then get to keep later. We went on a Wednesday, our pieces will be ready on a Wednesday (so about a week). We had fun. We have a keepsake. And it wasn't blazing hot while we were hanging out with family friends Win win

You don't have to worry about parking except more of the traffic getting in and out of the strip mall. --Ambience-- Similar to other hobby stores, Michaels has a huge variety from fabrics to various other hobbies like wood, holiday decorations, etc. Cashier at the front of the store can vary in organized to disorganized based on the store. This was a clean environment. --Service/Staff-- The staff varies per location from knowledge to newly hired associate. --Products/Service-- Recommended to check the inventory on the website if you are looking for something specific. This is one of the larger Michaels and stocks various items located on their website. --Capacity-- Indoor capacity can hold 100+ people during a Black Friday rush hour. --Overall-- Great location and plenty of parking. I recommend visiting, but check the website before hand for inventory if you are looking for something specific.

To my disappointment Micheal's selection of this patriotic display was weak if not horribly unacceptable. I found it hard to believe that this store who decorates to the hilt for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and whatever holiday we celebrate can not have a decent display for this very special holidays goods, ie, flags, signs, T-shirts, etc. We found one section that encompassed an area of shelf's, 4ft. long with a minimum of patriotic (4th July goods). As a US veteran, that loves my country I found it hard to believe that this store could not provide any patriotic products worthy of purchasing. I discussed this with the store manager to express my feelings. This young lady really couldn't defend the store very much over my concerns for the lack of holiday participation at her store, Micheals. It's a shame that Micheal's couldn't celebrate our nations 250th birthday. It's good that they keep Halloween and the other holidays more important than our freedom!!

I think it is by appointment only, so you will want to call. Again, awesome staff that really make all of the girls feel special.

*** Updated Review ***…read more Not even 24 hours after sending the owner of this establishment feedback, she contacted me to thank me for the feedback. She also assured me that she would be ordering superhero costumes for girls immediately. I appreciate her prompt attention to the matter and the fact that she was so open to hearing the feedback. We'll definitely be back!!! ******* I have now had the pleasure of attending two birthday parties at this facility and have several recommendations to improve the party going experience. As the mother of a 6-year old daughter who adores superheroes, I am saddened that they have no female superhero costumes. Instead, each time I have come to this facility, my daughter -- who doesn't like princesses -- must make the choice to either "grin and bear it" in a princess outfit or wear a superhero outfit designed for boys. This needs to change. It is 2018 and we should be empowering our girls by not limiting them to these choices. My other major recommendation is that they forgo the outdated "boy vs. girl" treasure box. This is another unfortunate ritual that furthers the stereotypes. I watched in disbelief last week as my daughter was informed that she could not have a sword because it was from the "boy box". So, instead, she settled for a consolation prize -- a tiara and wand. Again, I am all for children expressing themselves and do understand that many little girls love their princesses. I'd just like to see them further diversify their costume offerings for girls... especially given that they have so many examples to look up to now, whether princesses or superheroes.
