Ugh. I hate when places treat customers like outlaws or automatically assume the worst in people. I spent 21 years in retail, so I understand why it can happen--I've seen a lot of people try to cheat the system in one way or another. At the end of the day, however, it's a low percentage of the total customers I've helped in my lifetime and you can't let them dictate how you act overall. I'm at Michael's, trying to look at the back of a pack of paint markers that are secured to a peg hook by a locking device. Because, you know, out of the millions of coveted items at Michael's, these particular pens are the most precious commodity. Of course, the package details are on the back, and I can't turn it over on the locked hook. I manage to (miraculously) flag down an employee to help. But he's "new here" and can't figure out the lock. So, he goes on a pilgrimage to find the manager. I should have known I was in trouble when he packed his kit, two cans of beans, and mounted his pony. This was going to take a while. He tipped his hat, and was on his way. As the sky turned orange and pink and the mountains shadows grew longer, it finally occurred to me that I could read the details on the back of the package if I just took the peg hook of the wall. I didn't even know if this product would do what I hoped it would. A simple lift off the wall, and the back of the package was visible for all to see. Sure enough, I found out that it would work the way I wanted! I was all ready to shell out $30, when the sheriff/manager made his way around the corner. His hand practically reached for his pistol as he snatched the peg hook from my hand (mind you, the product is still locked to the peg hook). He scowled and rolled his eyes harder than a tumbleweed in a windstorm. Then he said "I'll walk these up to the register for you, outlaw." As I followed him, head slung low in shame for the horrible dereliction of civic responsibility I had committed, feeling worthless and unworthy of love, I had the time to do a quick Amazon search for the same product. Now, I know we all hate Jeff Bezos for doing what we wish we could, but I pulled the trigger and ordered the same product for only $20. Meanwhile, the sherriff/manager placed what I hoped to buy behind the register area for "when I was ready." Sorry, partner. This outlaw has already moved on to the next village. *** The ornery, bald headed sherriff gets zero stars, but the store gets two, because the people in the framing department are great. read more

I feel like this store has a good selection of inventory, but everything costs $5-$10 more than what it's worth. It seems everything is overpriced. read more

Orginzed store staff could be lil more help fulfilling besides that nice selection of things

I stopped by Michaels last night with the kids to get some puzzles and smash-booking supplies for the quarantine! I come here all the time and the staff is usually very welcoming and helpful. Yesterday was a little busier in the store than it usually is and that's maybe why this happened but the Joe person they have there is normally moody. I get that we all have bad days but to create such a prickly uncomfortable air in the store is awful!!!! He was having a temper tantrum AGAIN!!!! Good customer service is NOT STOMPING AROUND THE STORE IN A TIZZY OR VERBALLY DEGRADING OTHER WORKERS!!!! Its not worth coming back to a store where I don't feel comfortable in because of one of their employees acting like a child. Unacceptable... read more

This is not only the WORST Michael's I have ever visited, but the worst craft store of all time!!! EVERYTHING and I do mean EVERYTHING rings up wrong at this store. I recently came here to purchase two baskets for an upcoming party, and both baskets were priced 5.99 and rang up 6.99 not to mention they were supposed to be 40% off! I'll stop babbling now, but this does happen everytime! The staff is rude, and not helpful at all. They actually seem bothered when you ask them a question. I can not even sum up all the negatives that go along with shopping at this location. Do yourself a favor, and drive the five minutes to Jo Ann Fabrics, they have ALL of your crafting needs. This Michaels used to be horribly disorganized, old and an atrocity; contrarily, they recently remodeled and completely re-did the layout of the store to make this place seem newer and act much better than it previously did. With the change came in increase in clearance (my favorite sections), such sections are found in both the far back corner of the store as well as in the right side of the middle of the store. Fairly organized and normally a large stock in every department. Seems the plant section of this store is always overflowing into many of the aisles. This specific Michaels is large and spacious, and has more than sufficient parking (there is barely ever anyone else around anyway... Pier 1 and TJ Maxx are the only other stores here). Staff are friendly and are more than helpful with using lots of coupons. Always come to Michaels with a coupon (if you don't, you are, in my opinion, doing a crime). It's not even worth shopping here normally without one! And, by the way, they do accept Jo-Ann coupons and AC Moore coupons. Good store that is worth making a trip to for craft supplies in this area. There isn't any AC Moore stores nearby and the Jo-Ann in Raynham is somewhat laughable. This place used to be tough, but then realized, especially without competition, that they need to improve their store! 4 stars. read more

I recently had four prints custom framed here. Pricey? Yes, but I received outstanding customer service from Peter. He was so helpful, patient, and knowledgeable that I did not mind the price. My sister also had a similar experience with this gentleman when she had something framed there. I hope Michael's realizes what a valuable employee they have in the custom framing dept. So rare these days. read more

As much as I love cake decorating, scrapbooking and all that fun stuff in between. I have no idea why the employees are always so grouchy especially if your 40% off coupon isn't scanning through, then you better watch out! But I refuse to buy anything without a coupon there. Which then becomes tedious because its a one coupon per person, per visit. So I either have to bring the whole family or make multiple trips. However I did take my second cake decorating class here and it is a nice touch that they give you the instruction book for free where you have to pay at AC Moore. I visit at least once a week because they are always getting new things in. read more
