I highly wouldn't recommend using Michelle Messina as a real estate attorney. She is extremely unprofessional and never returned phone calls. It was a disappointment working with her because my family has used her in the past and will not be using her again. Michelle was screaming on the phone at me like a lunatic in a middle of a pandemic because I didn't know when I would be able to close since I didn't know if I had job security due to Covid pandemic . The office is very disorderly, most times you speak to her staff, never get any updates. I did most of the checking and letting the office know. Contract was a scribbled mess, not initialed changes, and buyer backed out which I notified the office. My second buyer closed and I paid my bill for both sets of legal fees. 8 months to get the deposit check back from the first buyer and docked extra fees! I contacted Michelle directly and was told she could charge more if she wanted than she did and I should thank her! I paid in full at closing! I would not recommend this office, this was my fourth house I sold and never had stress with any other attorney. Stay clear. read more

Hired her based on being a guest speaker at a first time home buyers seminar a few years ago...big MISTAKE! I should have went with a recommended lawyer by my real estate agent instead but lesson learned and hope that others are deterred from making the same mistake as me. You'll get to actually talk to Michele ONLY when you hire her and then during closing. All other times, you'll be talking to her legal aids, which seem like secretaries who have no sense of professional obligations or courtesy. I called for EVERY status or update. It would be a coincidence too EVERY single time that I'm expecting an update by the certain date that her legal aid, Shawna, would tell me "I just spoke to the other lawyer..." or "I just received the update from them..." but then how come she didn't call me to let me know?!? Because it's probably mostly BS and she just tells you what you want to hear. Even when I'm on the phone with her and she tells me she'll call me right back (which happened a lot) after finding something out, I get no call back. I have to call back. The sellers had issues so my closing took months. When I did finally close, they didn't notify me of how much I had to get a cashier's check for during closing and I believe that it's a federal law that they have to notify you at least 24 hours before the closing date (so I will bring this up if I decide to pursue a lawsuit). I had to call the day of closing and Shawna made up some BS again and said "oh, I just received those totals from your bank this morning" but I know my mortgage lender is on top of everything and sent those days before. The last issue during closing is that Michele decided to write herself an amount a lot more than we had in contract for her service so I will her sue her for this as well. It was a hectic and exciting day so I decided to question this amount after the closing. I sent multiple emails and called asking for the breakdown of this cost and received no response or reply...how surprising. My word of advice for everybody, STAY AWAY! read more

I have worked with Michele for many years, referred her clients and have used her for my own purchases, sale and refinances. She goes above and beyond for you as her client. She makes sure you are protected against anything even if it might seem trivial to others or the opposing attorney but she's right there letting you know about it and how it can affect you or not. She is very thorough and wants you to understand exactly what's going on and will always be upfront and honest. Her staff works super hard on so many files but if I called with a question they either had the answer or got back to me within a day. It's very stressful to buy or sell and I appreciated all my questions being answered in a timely manner. I saw a review below that someone wrote saying that they never got to speak with Michele except for the beginning and the end of the process and all I can say from experience is that she is on top of all her files and knows what's going on with every one of her clients. It's pretty amazing because she has a ton at any given time but knows each one so yes you'll talk to her at the beginning then go thru her office staff (most of the time but who doesn't do anything without going over it with her) during the process and then she absolutely will kill it for you at the end! If that's not good enough for you then you'll have to go with someone less sought after, less clients and hope they do right by you when all is said and done because with Michele there is no question! read more
