FYI - it's usually a waste of time to give a lot of extra information. The doctor already takes it in at a glance, given their skill level. However, when it's an emotional issue there can be the tendency to want more time for a listening ear but alas, with a shortage of doctors, they don't have time to indulge that need in this setting. As a psychotherapist I highly recommend getting therapy for extra emotional support. It's why I went into that field after being a RN - I love and value all aspects of health care. The thing to decide is what is realistic for the setting you are in.

Primary CAre Dr. never input examination, diagnosis etc. immediately after appoint. ALways went directly to another patient. MEDICAL RECORDS BEAR NO RESEMBLANCE TO REALITY OR ACTUAL VISITS. Medical records imply examinations that never occured. Reports and labs missing from medical records. Primary Care Dr. too quick to diagnose and prescribe for depression, when I was having tendon pain, constipation, all adverse reactions to medications he prescribed! Refused to refer me out to UCSF despite that my insurance would have covered. Kept prescribing muscle relaxants that I told him knocke me out and felt dangerous. He smirked! Found out with new Primary Care Dr. that he was prescribing a way too high a dose, while the McHernry Medical Dr. kept telling me that my being knocked out was "normal." He could have killed me! Felt he was covering for his errors in diagnosis and prescriptions he prescribed that caused major problems. Kept telling me when I had tendon pain, I Must have done something to cause it. It was the antibiotics he previously prescribed. Confirmed by new primary care and other drs. When I reported problems of security of urine samples at QUEST LABORATORY at McHenry, my sincere constructive alert was met with a demeaning retort by head of McHenry Medical. In the last few years it has gotten so bad that I dare not drive. I blink and squeeze my eyes shut to the point where they are closed more often than they are open. I contacted Dr. Abbas asking for a new drug called Ingrezza. He submitted it to my insurance company and they said it needed to be pre-approved. He tried and it was denied because it's 7 thousand dollars a month. I found a program that would help pay for it and in fact it was completely free! All that needed to be done was for me to fill out a document, get it to Dr. Abbas and he was to sign it and fax it to the program. My wife works at DMC so she walked the form to his office. I waited and waited and called and called and never got the bloody meds. Found another Dr. here in Oakdale and all is good. All I can think is that he simply doesn't care! Yesterday my wife had a hip replaced. Today she has hives. This can be deadly as it can swell and close the airway. She called at noon and it is now 5:15 pm. Nothing.
