After we put down the deposit, Rebecca was virtually impossible to get ahold of, each time giving a different excuse (she disappeared for 2 weeks saying she caught a fever then another week saying her phone was in the shop). I had to ask repeatedly for her to deliver the most basic things (confirmation of the latest plan, a run of show timeline, contact my vendors, literally anything) and she never did, often getting upset with me for even asking. Most of my vendors said they didn't hear a word from her til they met her the day of the wedding. So what should have been a seamless process was all over the place. The day of was worse. They didn't play our song as we walked down the aisle, left the ceremony venue a mess (so much so that my wife and I had to return to clean the venue ourselves the next day), messed up our seating chart despite several emails with super clear instructions and dropped the ball on almost everything we asked them to do. You truly get what you pay for here. Unless you like working on your wedding hire a different coordinator.

Whether it was reworking floral arrangements to create an extra boutonniere just before family photos, or enlisting the venue coordinator to repair our cake topper in the middle of the reception when we thought it was beyond saving, we were consistently impressed with Luis's dedication, resourcefulness, and professionalism. I am naturally a very anxious person, but as soon as I saw Luis in action I knew that I could relax and that he had everything under control. At the end of the night he even personally followed the delivery driver back to our hotel to ensure our decor was returned safely. We had many Chinese guests and family members who did not speak English, and this was the first wedding of parents from both sides. I wanted to make sure we have a good time, and our parents are also well taken care of since we will be too busy to tend to them. We had all our vendors booked before hiring Shirley so we booked the classic package. For this package, Shirley started working with us about 6 weeks before the wedding. She introduced herself to our vendors and made sure they had the itinerary before the wedding, attended zoom meeting with us when requested, and she was quick to respond to our requests and questions. Our wedding included elements from both Chinese and Western weddings, it was a 14-hour day including getting ready, gatecrashing, two tea ceremonies, photoshoots, a first look, ceremony, a quick first dance practice, receptions, and three dress changes (7a-11 pm)! With so much to do, we had a tight itinerary, and Shirley made sure the right people was at the right place at the right time so we are on schedule. She communicated with our wedding party on what's next on the itinerary, and guided our parents through the itinerary. Sojourner and her team put together a great day of schedule for us, contacted all of our vendors and maintained contact with them up and thru the wedding day. I received due dates for checklist items, a timeline, preferred vendor list, Vanessa and I met a few times to discuss my vision and she helped with my decision making. I didn't have to chase each vendor throughout the process or on my big day, she made sure they got everything they needed. My biggest fear was being late but vanessa created a time line that I tried my best to stick to. The day of, she arrived at my house and assisted the videographer and photographers with anything they needed. I almost forgot my husbands gift but she remembered! The minute we arrived at the venue I got a huge surprise from Sojourner! I was feeling so confident everything will move according to plan but it never does because it's a wedding! A few people saw me before the ceremony because the venue did not have a place for guests to wait so vanessa and Sojourner helped take care of that. They were on the hunt for the ring bearer and flower girls but most of all when my in laws were running late, somehow the ceremony went on and we still managed to end the reception on time. Hiring Veronica for our wedding as our Day of Coordinator was the best decision that we made during…read morethe 27-month wedding planning process. From the moment I spoke with her, I could tell that she was someone I could trust to make sure that our day was amazing. I am a perfectionist to a fault, and I had very specific ideas and needs for the wedding. I was worried that I wouldn't find someone who could do as good a job as I could with organization, delegation, and accuracy. But she remembered every single detail. She also handled some larger issues - such as helping me with the shuttles. We needed shuttles for 130 people to leave the venue at essentially the same time - and I could not find a 3rd shuttle. She was able to book me an additional coach bus within 4 days of the wedding - that honestly saved the day. I also asked her to come to the florist with us so she could see our 'vision', since it was a bit more than just putting flowers on tables. When I arrived at the venue, I saw that she took our vision and made it even better! She added touches of gold and lights and greenery in places I didn't think to decorate, and it looked amazing. She was with me the entire night, keeping the sleeves of my dress from falling, helping me with eyedrops when I couldn't see, and constantly checking in with our band, maître d', and photographers to make sure everything was running smoothly. She got us through the mid-reception family photos (which I thought would be a disaster time-wise) so quickly, and was truly managing the time for the entire night. All of the vendors raved about her, and said her communication and precision was impeccable - and that she had great improvisation skills for whenever things did go a bit astray. I didn't have to worry about anything the entire evening, and that was the best feeling ever. Veronica is great at what she does - which is making sure your day is amazing.
