While searching Yelp and Google I found that the Mill Rose Inn bed and breakfast offers couple massages. I called them and since I was not a guest of the B & B I was given the number of their masseuse - Irma. Irma worked with me to find another available masseuse so that my boyfriend and I could have our side-by-side massage. After a fair amount of phone tag and a lot of work by Irma to make it happen, we got our side-by-side couple's massage scheduled. The second masseuse Irma found for us was the owner of the Primrose Day Spa, so our massage was at the Primrose. The spa itself was small but cute and quaint. It had hardwood floors and paneling and a very Victorian feel. The waiting room was small, but full of old plush furniture and mood-appropriate lighting. There were none of the fancy extra amenities of some spas, such as a hot tub, but the feel of the place was calming and massage-ready. We were shown to the massage room, where we changed, as there is no changing room or shower area. The room was lowly lit and smelled lovely. The massage beds were warm and comfy and just right. The massages themselves were just fantastic. I was massaged by Irma and my boyfriend by the owner of the Primrose. The massages were relaxing and they used wonderful essential oils. The masseuses used pressure-point techniques to address our more tense areas. We were literally massaged from head to foot, and even received the none-too-common but oh so relaxing tush massage. I forgot to mention we had arrived half an hour late, and the ladies were very accommodating. The price wes market rate, and Irma went above and beyond to accommodate us. I wanted a pregnancy massage and my husband is VERY particular about his deep tissue massage and Irma appeared to specialize in both of those. She was great about getting back to me right away and seemed confident that she and a "partner" could provide us with exactly what we needed. They came to our hotel, set up in our room and the second we walked in, it smelled like a spa, which we love! Irma performed my pregnancy massage and although I am normally very ticklish in several places, she helped me to breathe through it and I must say, it was the most relaxed I have ever been in a massage. She had the perfect technique to relieve the many aches and pains I am experiencing being 9 months pregnant. My husband got a massage from the other masseuse and she was phenomenal, using techniques that he had never had performed on him before. I obtained quotes from several other companies, but chose Oasis because their prices were extremely reasonable and they offered massage, facial and mani/pedi not just facials and massage. (by far the best and the only ones I found who had experience providing both mani/pedi and massage contemporaneously for such a large group) We booked 20 minute mini services for all 14 women, including a full hour-plus for the bride and the services lasted from around 12pm-5 or 6pm. Nichole and Mary were professional and exceeded expectations at every step. Nichole was timely in email responses, provided detailed invoicing and they called to check in on their way up from El Granada to Guerneville with an exact ETA. Most wonderful; however, was the service itself. They made our beautiful rental into an informal day spa with candles, lighting, aromatherapy and wonderful, relaxed attitudes. I was wary of the whole "staging" idea, scared it might be kitschy or too girly but they were right on point, candles, dried flowers, good quality equipment and aromatherapy station-- it meshed perfectly with our riverfront house's rustic/modern luxury. I should have realized that they can adapt their setting for either a group of young girls at a "party" or a more serene adult gathering. Nichole and Mary are both excellent at what they do--I asked Nichole about her experience in this industry and she explained to me that they both worked successfully for many years in-house at spas, but branched out on their own since there is a need for this type of mobile service. We were all laughing because every time someone came out of the massage room with Nichole their eyes were rolling into their heads and they would flop on the couches. Nichole followed them out with a heated aromatherapy neck wrap to complete the ecstasy. Hahahaha. Anyhow, Mary also was very detail oriented and often spent more than the allotted 20 minutes to ensure each girl's mani or pedi was given the appropriate attention. She cleaned, sanitized and refilled the soaking tub each time and her OPI and Esssie colors came in a fantastic array of neutral to edgy colors. Both Nichole and Mary exceeded our expectations of what a spa could be. I overheard several of the guests commenting on how they made just enough conversation to put one at ease without making them feel compelled to chat during the service. Several women opted to pay for additional foot or full body massages because Nichole was so good. My roommate gets massages quite regularly and commented that Nichole really knows what she is doing. I highly recommend Oasis for large or small gatherings if you are looking to wow your guests. Did I mention they provided customized aromatherapy products that they mix onsite using pure organic extracts-jasmine, rose, ylang ylang, grapefruit...I was so happy and relieved at how wonderful the whole experience was. It's a quiet office with a large hallway restroom, complimentary coffee and teas in the waiting room. Being within a Dr's office, it was clean and felt safe and serene. I received the 90 min hot stone massage and opted for the CBD oil add-on. My neck, shoulder and arm pain is something that comes and goes. At its worst, I feel radiating pain and achiness that can continue for several days and disturb my sleep. This time, instead of "enduring" it for several days (and whining to my husband) I booked an appt with Linda. Online booking is super easy and convenient. If you don't know what type of massage you want or need, it's OK! Because Linda will ask you and adjust as needed. When I told her my symptoms, she included some trigger points and stretches! Ahhhhhh She definitely focused on my neck, shoulder and arm (main complaint) but did not forget the rest of my body! ( I didn't realize my lower back and legs were also tight!) The CBD oil did not smell and was a thick oil. She told me not to shower tonight. The only bad thing about CBD oil is that if it gets in your hair, your hair looks super greasy. So bring a hat if you need to go somewhere afterward. Not sure if it was the CBD or the actual massage, but I slept really well and did not wake up multiple times, as I had been doing! My neck and shoulder felt so much better, very loose and I no longer felt the deep radiating ache! I plan to do bi-weekly appts with Linda, as part of my self-care routine!
