I scheduled my appointment at Lumina Massage after my wife had a massage here and left feeling like "a brand new person". I am so glad that I did. I came to Lumina with the hopes of getting some relief from chronic back pain that had started popping up within the past year. It had gotten to the point where I could not reach down to touch my toes. My session started with a questionnaire to better understand the causes of my pain and to tailor the experience to optimize my relaxation. Lumina Massage is heaven sent (cue the harps) I began receiving prenatal massages during my second trimester and continued every week all the way to my due date (and beyond). I credit the massages to one of the reasons I still felt great in my third trimester when I was large and in charge. She takes her time to figure out the troublesome areas before each massage and she also helps prepare your body for labor. It was honestly the best investment I made to my body while pregnant. But wait that's not all. I had a massage the week after birth! At home! Praise the Lord, Hallelujah After 36 hours in labor, mama needed some reinforcements and again I highly recommend doing this after as well. I'm now a year postpartum I've continued to get massages as part of my self care routine (everyone needs self care). Believe me between nursing and running after a baby the massages are still much needed. Then Covid happened :( Luckily Michelle began offering virtual massage coaching sessions; he booked one right away. I admit we were skeptical, wondering if this would be successful. Michelle was professional, sweet & the perfect coach. My husband, who is not a fan of providing massages, was very receptive to her coaching .
