She was dismissive of my concerns and showed no interest in digging deeper to address my issue. She was curt and had no compassion as a provider. My recent visit to One Medical Group in the Castro is the best doctor's visit I've ever had. And shouldn't the doctor herself get some kudos for that? Indeed she should! I made an appointment to see Dr. Rhee because I was starting to feel some anxiety about skipping my annual checkups while in grad school these last couple years. She was punctual, professional, personable and patient. (Sadly even the doctor can't cure my alliterative tendencies!) We undertook a thorough review of my medical history together, which rather than feeling perfunctory as it might at another office, felt like a genuine effort to understand where I'm coming from and how she could provide the best possible care. Like the previous reviewer, I felt that Dr. Rhee was up to date on the latest medical research and that she applied her knowledge to help me feel informed and in control of my own health. She came across as direct, non-judgmental, and trust-worthy. All my labs / blood work came back super-fast, with results sent to me via e-mail within a day or two of my check-up. Finally, ladies, note: I had what I think was the most comfortable / painless women's health check-up ever. This cannot be overlooked. In summary: I went in feeling anxious and I left feeling great! Dr. Rhee is attentive to detail, took the time necessary for me to feel that all my concerns were addressed, and she is readily accessible with questions or concerns. She is up to date on the latest medical research and practices evidence-based medicine. She does not order unnecessary testing. She is easy to speak to and I found her to be very personable, compassionate, and kind. I feel comfortable speaking with her frankly and overall feel that she's managed my medical care expertly. Michelle Rhee is the best doctor I have ever encountered! I'm so sad I can no longer see her due to my health insurance change! She takes great pride in her work and answers all the health questions I have. She specializes in women's health so it's nice to have her as a primary care/ OBGYN. She has great suggestions, gives lots of options for holistic care, and makes sure not only my physical health is well but that my mental health is doing good too. I love that One Medical physicians really take the time to sit down and make sure everything in your life is going smoothly. Bizarre that Dr Rhee isn't listed as providing obstetric care, because she was my OB for my second pregnancy. At 18 weeks, in May 2018, I had some light spotting and then mild leaking, and went in to see her. I'll never forget what she said: "I don't know what I'm looking at, but I can't see your cervix." An OB who *didn't know* that she was looking at the bag of waters? I'd started dilating. She offered me swabs for STDs... also bizarre because this was clearly a medical emergency. I was the one who said "I'm going to labor and delivery!" And she said "I guess, if you want to." To her credit she did call them to say I was coming? And after my baby died, One Medical sent flowers? No one should EVER be going to them for OB care. read more

Dr. Rhee runs her office like a factory. She can be rude, tactless, and brusque. Definitely not a fit for someone who is remotely sensitive. She gets a lot of business by being a point Doctor at this One Medical location automatically that she seems to not to care for her patients. I typically am very patient with every vendor I see, thinking things will get better and focusing on positives in people. I came to see her a few times wanting to get better but instead the way she treated me made me feel ten times worse. What a waste of money and time. read more

I had a fantastic experience with Michelle Rhee and One Medical in general. I saw Dr Rhee for a couple years. Not only is she a brilliant physician but she is warm, caring and really takes time to listen. I have chronic pain and she gave me a lot of non-narcotic options, including a referral for a physical therapist who specializes in pelvic floor dysfunction. That has saved me from the awful effects of drugs and I couldn't be more thankful to her. I highly recommend her. Also, One Medical is fantastic. Nice offices, kind and competent staff, no more than 5 minute wait times and same day appointments. After I moved to LA, I am especially reflecting on how wonderful my experience there was (the LA One Medical doesn't accept my insurance =( read more

I too am sad to see someone had a bad experience with Dr. Rhee. I started seeing her a few years ago and she was amazing. She was my primary doctor and I was devastated when she told me she would be working for a new practice. In all my years of seeing doctors, she BY FAR has been the best I have EVER had. I really felt like she cared about me and what was going on in my life, both medically and personally (as they often go hand in hand). I could contact her for any problem be it big or small and her response was always timely. She took time to listen to me and my concerns and was able to give positive feedback. I never felt rushed in my appointments with her. And I am sure I went over my "time limit" on more than one occasion. I had a kidney stone earlier this year which sent me to the emergency room. As is the protocol, the ER sent her my visit information. Dr. Rhee did not wait for me to contact her. Within a couple of days, she had reached out to make sure I was okay and recovering well. Dr. Rhee began seeing my daughter when she "graduated" from needing a pediatrician. My daughter loved her. Dr. Rhee always made her feel comfortable and eased concerns I had in different areas. From fertility issues, miscarriages, weight fluctuations, colds, and ear aches, Dr. Rhee has been there for me and my family when we have needed her. As I have been losing weight and now pursuing fertility treatments, she still has made an effort to follow-up with me even though she is not my primary physician anymore. She really cares. She is a great doctor and I HIGHLY recommend her. read more

Dr. Rhee is the best doctor I have ever had-- and I have had MANY! She is supportive, positive and caring. I look forward to going in for visits to be able to talk with her and even catch up. She is compassionate, knowledgable, and trustworthy. She takes the time to truly know her patients and validates their concerns. It feels more like catching up with a friend, than visiting the doctor, which is invaluable when you are concerned about your health. When I received test results that were abnormal, Dr. Rhee took it upon herself to contact me herself to be sure I understood the test results and what the next steps were. She referred me to another excellent physician, more specialized and followed up with me. Dr. Rhee respects her patients and suggests the best solutions for their individualized needs. I am not the only person I know with such a high opinion of Dr. Rhee. When a colleague was looking for a doctor, I suggested Dr. Rhee enthusiastically. She responded by saying another coworker had given her an equally glowing review of her own doctor, so she was torn over who to choose. I AM STILL IN SHOCK! I have never felt such warmth and a caring connection from my doctor before. I needed to find a new Primary Care Provider and after getting references from a few doctor friends of mine I decided to take their recommendation to try Medical One. I researched the doctors in my area, looking for medical school attended, residency and Board Certified. She was knowledgeable, up to date with the latest medicine, listen to the concerns I had and addressed them. I felt no judgement but respect and caring. She sure can talk your ear off as if she knows her stuff but her background and training doesn't come close to what she claims she knows. Dear All - Michelle Rhee damn near killed me 8 years ago after I had a skiing accident and she refused to get me an MRI or a CAT scan. PAMF sent me to her as a new patient and I found out later she was a pediatrician yet she decided all I had was a concussion. I asked her more than once at that time for one - nope she knew better and had been trained at Stanford. A couple of months later when I was falling down, soiling myself and couldn't find words anymore - I begged her again and she got me one. They operated the next day and saved my life - about a 4x6x1.5 inch hematoma. Later tried to get compensation from PAMF but with a head injury how do you make your claim. I was declared permanent mentally disabled and lost huge amounts of money making bad choices since then and fought suicide a lot - Arrogance and Stanford eduacation - avoid this doctor - I am still not done with my problem and we know what concussions do to people - why would she not refer me over to a brain specialist. She knew better. I do not believe the positive reviews here and now that I see her Naouropatic/holistic listing - I'll bet PAMf canned her. Bitter - you bet - she's dangerous read more

I made an appointment with Dr. Rhee located at the Castro Street Medical One location. Upon my initial visit, Dr. Rhee did not introduce herself, explain how her appointments were handled, did not ask for any past medical history, inquire about my relationship/employment status and lacked empathy for my chief concerns. She disregarded my past clinical history and degraded me by stating that i was on too many medications. I was offended and she clearly crossed a doctor / patient boundaries. She was quick to refer me to another doctor as if she was unwilling to develop a rapport with me and an understanding of my needs. She did not ask why I was having feelings of anxiety and never asked me how I am treating it. I felt as if I was taken as a fool for believing such a smooth and flashy website. Dr Rhee clearly has a chip on her shoulder and I left the location not paying for my visit nor a membership. I left feeling disregarded and disappointed in the quality of care. Shame on you, Dr. Rhee! You are not a good example for a future clinician working in the mental field. read more

First of all, I've had many awesome doctors at one medical so this isn't aimed at one medical but specifically at Dr Rhee. went to Dr Rhee a couple of years ago but felt compelled to write something now. I have been through a lot health wise and now suffer with chronic illness. I went in because I get chronic utis and I was in a lot of pain. She saw me shifting my position and writhing in discomfort. She asked me if I had a partner and I said yes, and then she launched into this speech about different anti biotics and saying she will not give me cipro if i am pregnant and was asking me over and over- i said no and she didn't believe me. She said she wouldn't give me certain anti biotics if I wasn't willing to have an abortion! I already suffer daily with my health, so when I'm in acute pain I need compassion and understanding and help not her talking about my stance on abortion for myself. She went to test my urine to see if I was pregnant( I was not) and while she was gone I called my bf in the exam room crying. I don't know if she has her own mental health issues or if she might have some other problem but she should not be seeing patients. She is better suited to research. It was traumatising. People don't go to doctors to be accosted or judged. They go for healing and care. I told the receptionist that I had never experienced such a rude, cold doctor and she should not be allowed to see patients. I will say that the receptionist did not seem surprised. read more

I was dissatisfied with Dr. Rhee. I've worked with plenty of doctors at One Medical and have felt they were very attentive, however Dr. Rhee lacked a bedside manner, dismissed what I had to say, and was very short with me. It seemed like she just profiled me as another patient with chronic complaints. I had to assert myself and explain to her that I'm not uneducated about my condition and I have done considerable amount of my own research. This helped, but the fact that I had to do that frustrated me. I honestly don't think I should have been charged for such a visit. She did not even attempt to ask more questions to investigate my symptoms and come up with a solution. Instead, she brushed off my concerns and simply referred to previous notes from a One Medical naturopathic doctor and told me to follow those instructions. OK?!!! Umm...I am coming to YOU for a reason. Bottom line: she is not warm and fuzzy, not very genuine, and I certainly did not feel comfortable. Dr. Anand Singh is awesome and I would recommend him. He's a nice combination of eastern and western medicine. Because I changed jobs and have new insurance, I could not have him as my primary care physician. I'll keep Dr. Rhee mainly because of her hospital privileges and I will see someone else since they bill as a practice. P.S. I think those positive reviews are B.S. read more

Clinic nurse and physician (not Dr. Rhee) made a mistake in interpreting my test results (said they were normal when clearly the actual report said otherwise). I emailed Dr. Rhee to clarify since she was my primary and she dismissed my email with a re-iteration of what I had been told before. I asked again and she said something like "I think I answered your question", which she hadn't. I repeated my question a third time at which point I finally got an email from the nurse apologizing for the error in the original interpretation of my test results, then another email from Dr. Rhee saying something like "for any further questions please email *generic email address*. Not only was it disconcerting that they completely misread my results, but having to email multiple times and receiving rude responses each time when I was right in the first place was beyond disappointing. Not sure I will be renewing my membership, but pretty sure I won't be seeing Dr. Rhee or the original doc that misread my results ever again. read more
