Hands down the very best eye lash person in the Bay Area! Michelle is a well seasoned professional; her salon and lash room is immaculate. All products used are either brand new or sterile. Michelle is meticulous with every new set, refill, removal or consultation. She uses high end glue and takes her time to carefully apply each extension, lash by lash. Michelle does not double up or cut corners like many in the industry others do. She offers competitive pricing, a standard schedule, and promptly responds to all appointment inquiries. At the time, I lived in Benicia and would drive to Oakland every few weeks for a fill. I was excited when Michelle moved to the Walnut Creek location because that was even closer to my home. After about 5 years, I relocated to the East Coast and for the first year after my relocation, I'd actually fly back and forth to have my lashes refilled! Yup! She was that good! I've been going to Michelle for 6+ years going back to when she used to be based in Oakland. When she decided to relocate to Venus & Mars in Walnut Creek, I didn't hesitate to head out there from Oakland to continue getting my lashes done by her. I'm the type of person that likes to stay local and support Oakland's small businesses, so this is a big deal for me to be heading out to Walnut Creek! Michelle's THAT good. I try to go every 4 weeks to get refills. Her work is consistent every time I go. She's a great communicator and will let you know months in advance when she is planning some time off so we can schedule my appointments in advance. This is so incredibly helpful! She's very sweet and easy to talk to. Usually, we catch up in the first 30 minutes and then I end up dozing off the rest of the session. She's very careful and detailed in her work. It takes approximately 45 minutes per eye, so plan to be there for about 1.5 hours per session. You won't be disappointed! read more

I do not normally review, but seeing as how I have been seeing Michelle for almost 2 years now, I should. I get lash extensions every time I go on vacation, because let's face it- nobody wears makeup on a beach, but would still like to look nice for photos. She does an amazing job. I've gone to 2 other people in the past for lashes and even though they looked great, after one week they were gone. Michelle, on the other hand, after a month mine still look great (make sure you follow her after care instructions!) I saw a review below me complaining about the high price, but you get what you pay for. Great quality should not come discounted. I would recommend her to anybody who wants good quality lash extensions. She is very sweet, clean and professional. I have been Michelle's client for 5 years and she is just amazing. I had been to others for this service prior to Michelle but once I found her, I knew I would never leave. I drive 45 minutes to see her and I have many other choices locally but she is a true perfectionist. I get so many compliments yet no once really knows for certain they are not my own. I have also referred my friends and family and they all lover her as well. They are 100% worth the cost as they last longer and are precision perfect when applied. I also have to say that this recent negative review I just noticed, looks somewhat suspect as Michelle was also instructor and would never make a novice mistake like gluing lashes to an eyelid! - in fact she takes such extreme care that she spends about 90 minutes MINIMUM just applying my refill lashes. First of all crazy expensive. Michelle did not disclose that she would charge $30 to remove the lashes that were just applied one week before my appointment with her. Nor did she say that I would be charged for a full set of lashes which I had just had applied seven days prior. The most expensive extensions even without the $30 removal fee. $230+ The lashes looked great and full but many of the lashes were applied to my eye lid and not my lashes causing great discomfort for days and probably a bit of damage. I thought Michelle was nice but a shyster and despite her claim of 9 years of experience I can't see how she could apply lashes to the wrong places after all that experience. Although her work comes out ok, the process is brutal & she lacks professionalism. During my visits with Michelle, she would ask me to fall asleep, not wanting to make small talk. When I couldn't, she complained my actual eyeballs were moving too much (weird). A text came through on my phone during an appointment, Michelle decided it was appropriate to reach into my personal purse to turn off the sound, so I could "go to spleep". Meanwhile, HER phone was vibrating every few minutes on the desk next to my head. Didn't make sense. My eyes would water from the fumes of the glue. Michelle also became frustrated with this. But what she didn't realize is as she was applying the extensions, she was lifting my eyelid, allowing the fumes to irritate my eye. Trust me, I'm not crying on que. I tried telling her this..... I voiced my above concerns to Michelle and told her I wold be trying a different place. read more

I wish I had found Michelle sooner! I've seen most of the lash salons or technicians that rank highest in the yelp search for the WC area and was always disappointed my misleading reviews, inconsistent results, lack of detailed work and dedicate time to make sure the end result is perfect. I have mentioned to several friends and they've always been shocked that they are extensions because they cannot see where they are glued on. I get a refill every 3 weeks and I still have at least 50% of the lashes remaining. Michelle is very meticulous and removes all the 'hanging' ones, then literally covers EVERY SINGLE BARE LASH that I have remaining. I have no idea how she manages to find each one but after every appointment I cannot find any lash uncovered! She takes her time and makes sure that your lashes are absolutely perfect when you leave.
