Being from a small southeast town myself I know how difficult it must be to run a restaurant with our VERY expensive overhead. Our travels brought us to the small town in Alaska on our 47th wedding anniversary. We went into Michelle's Taste of Asia and we were blown away by the wonderful flavors. The service is excellent. Gracious greeting as we entered the restaurant. The food is excellent, so good we returned multiple times for dinner and explored the menu each day. Everything our party chose each day was excellent flavor and authenticity. And Michelle and Alyssa were great in their service. A must stop when in Wrangell. All the reviews say how great the food is here. It was fine, nothing exceptional. We had a very busy day and simply didn't want to cook and this was the only restaurant in town open at 6:30 on a Thursday night in mid-September. We had stopped in at another place that was usually open at that time but was closed for a private party. So we walked to Taste of Asia. They had a few customers and their sign said they were open until 8. We got in line and a grumpy voice hollered at us and said "one hour wait for food". Very welcoming. We were hungry and decided we were willing to wait. So we ordered ($19/entree). Took a seat and settled in for the wait. Our food was delivered in a to-go bag with plastic forks approximately 15 minutes after we ordered. I think the grouchy proprietor was tired and just didn't want any more customers. We ate, and like I mentioned before, it was fine. Nothing amazing about it. We didn't get ice cream because it was pretty spendy. About $6 for one scoop. They also had expensive milkshakes and bubble tea. We walked by on the following Saturday night, about 6:00. They were open, but all three employees were looking at their phones, probably wondering why they had no customers. Maybe grumpy lady scared them away. read more

We went for 4 on a scale of 1-5 and found it to be a slow burn - not unpleasant. Food comes with fork or chopsticks even. It's only open for dinner.
