This is for the restaurant only! I didn't stay the night But the food is great and servers are very helpful and kind prices are kinda high on every thing except for sandwiches prices are really good! Now they dont seem to have ac so I would suggest sitting outside in the shade.

We stayed two nights in the Hillside cabin. Hillside 1 which is the entire upstairs is the way to go with a nice view of the lake from the balcony. This is a remodeled, very comfortable stay with great room, separate bedroom with king bed and full bathroom. Though you're within 100 yards from Lake Michigan, there is no beach because you're on a cliff but there's a public beach just down the road. Lea and company were great to work with. Attached photo is a panorama from our Hillside 1 deck. Hillside has unit 1 upstairs with units 2 and 3 downstairs. Renting all 3 units would be great for our entire family someday soon. There are also two golf courses nearby. Buzz's Lakeside, just up the road, is a nice place for perch, whitefish or a good salad. There's outside seating and takeout available.

Lovely property overlooking Lake Michigan. Can't wait to come back! We came opening weekend for an anniversary get away on May 7. Our room was great, very clean. Peaceful walk down to water and around property. Lots of outdoor seating and hanging swings to relax and enjoy the view. We would like to come back this summer with our family to use the pool, and play horse shoes, basketball, volleyball, tennis, playground, etc, etc, etc. Scenic Drive has a gorgeous view of Lake Michigan and a beach. Duck Lake state park is right across the street. Light house museum and town of Whitehall just minutes away.

Not worth the money. I went for a wedding, where I had fun, but the actual accommodations and services were subpar.

While visiting friends in the area, we were able to get tickets to see "Irish Christmas in…read moreAmerica." Besides the playhouse, the show was outstanding. I'm not sure about the history of the building. Like most places in this area, I suspect it was an older building that was updated. They did a great job. The building is beautiful. While waiting, you are in an open space. They have a small snack bar, there was a table of wares the group was selling, and lots of people congregating. (All wore masks except for two people.) When you do enter the theater, you find your seats. The seats were comfortable. The show started on time and the musicians and dancers did their things. The sound system was marvelous. In sum, this was a great and unexpected experience for a small town. If you find yourself in Whitehall, MI, this is not one to miss.

"I believe that in a great city, or even in a small city or a village, a great theater is the…read moreoutward and visible sign of an inward and probable culture." --- Sir Laurence Olivier Born of countless endowments and preserved through many, many more, this tiny beacon of culture and the finer arts has born witness over the years to the rise of many generations of aspiring, amateur, and professional actors. I, myself, once took to the stage before a full house, and let me be the first (but hopefully not the last!) to say that beneath the lights and under the gaze of your audience, there is no greater thrill than to present your learned story with all of the passion and excitement that you have been saving up to that point! I've also sat in the seats of this wonderful ninety-three year old theater and taken in several shows - the seating, stage, balcony, music pit...all of it is lovingly preserved by amazing volunteers and donors, giving it an antiquated feel that you simply cannot replicate with modern materials. This is the genuine theater experience, and White Lake has it right under their noses. Sadly, there exists no more under-appreciated landmark in all of the White Lake area than the Howmet Playhouse. Donations are constantly being collected, but it seems as though repairs are slow in coming on some occassions. While the money coming in to the Playhouse have been enough to keep it going, it is nothing short of a crime that there exists no established subsidies for its continual maintenance and care. I'm not sure if the White Lake Chamber of Commerce realizes this or not, but looking at the area from the outside, there is VERY little to keep people's attention in regard to tourism. Treasures like the Howmet are the lifeblood of the tourism trade, and more effort should be made in utilizing the playhouse in promoting unique performances that tell the story of the White Lake area. Someone in an official capacity really needs to stand up and take this wonderful building more seriously, realizing its importance in White Lake's existence. If you're in the area, I urge you to take in a show! It's more than just a nostalgic glimpse into the past for long-time residents - it's a piece of it's very history, and that history deserves respect. The Howmet is a truly entertaining venue that will transport you not only into the worlds presented on stage, but also into the past of this beautiful Michigan community.

The team she hired to set up the venue was clearly inexperienced and even made comments to my family members saying, "I'm not sure what to do I've never done this before." Time was severely mismanaged and the coordinator/owner was visibly overwhelmed. Marilee does not care whether or not you are happy with her services. After the wedding, I tried contacting Marilee privately to express my dissatisfaction and try and find a compromise on the amount she billed us for (which she was unwilling to give any details or itemization of her invoice) and she ended up ignoring my emails. She took no accountability, was disrespectful and made rude comments about my wedding, and showed no willingness to compromise...she never apologized and immediately was defensive and threatened legal action. After trying to contact her 3 times and being ignored, she filed with small claims. The judgement ended up being dismissed. After having such a horrible experience and doing more research, I found out the business was dissolved in 2014 and is no longer legally operating under its LLC.

Except that equipment and so on takes time and Zayne pointed out that if you stop at 10 outside we would lose a lot of people to the lull. Instead, he was able to rent additional equipment for us, made some good calls on when the timing was right, and made it so smooth our guests transitioned with ease and he definitely kept the dancing going. I would also strongly suggest you let him do his job. We had a mix of Alabama cowboy meets professional woman (in our mid 40s) and everything from pre-teens to 70 somethings and he kept that floor going. Trust him on music, set up and lights. He knows what he's doing. He actually did a better job coordinating timing on everything and can read a room better than the staff did. Highly Highly recommend him!

They even update you on local happenings like the farmers market or music on the Pentwater Greene. Kevin and Christen are second generation operators at Ferwerdas and it shows.
