This is what you get for $2000 on your wedding day. Mind you it fell apart in 45 minutes of delivery. No one called to confirm drop off like they were supposed to. I Called to see what happened before I did this review and was told the manager was on vacation and they would call me back, 2 and a half months later and still no response. Manager harassed myself and my 3 year old when we decided to go somewhere else. We needed individually wrapped treats for church and did not get the opportunity to purchase them here because the manager started shouting that I'd have to pay for individual wrapping (of course I would pay! I run a business, I know). She walked around to stand in front of me and squared off like someone who wants to fight! Then, she followed me to my car while I buckled my child into her seat and continued to berate me. I was terrified!! Mickey's Cakes Completely Failed us. I'd ordered and PAID IN FULL for a 3 layer custom birthday cake a month in advance. I also paid to have it delivered. I used Mickey's because I'd had her cakes before and they're always delicious. She makes big, elaborate wedding cakes and delivers those so of course she could handle our 3 tier birthday cake for 65 people. The week of our event, I was going down our list and contacting everyone we were using: The venue; the caterer; the cake. Our cake was scheduled to be delivered at 3:00 for a 6:00 party. Because we were having very hot weather, I was asked if delivery could be moved to as late as possible, to keep the cake in good condition. We agreed that 5:00 would be fine. But at 5:30, we still had no cake. The table where it was to go was ready. We were told to order a special centerpiece if we wanted something really personal and specific. So the purchased centerpiece sat, along with the also purchased cake plates, waiting for the cake. At 5:30pm I called Mickey's to ask about the cake. "Oh, she's on her way. She should be there any minute!" I was told. She never showed up. The guest of honor arrived at almost half past 6 and calls to Mickey's went straight to voice mail. At 7:30 I got a call from Mickey's. "The cake was just melting in this heat." I was told. ( If you're in the business of delivering wedding cakes, don't you have a refrigerated vehicle? Or a compartment to handle this?) "It was sliding so much that she went BACK to the shop to try and fix it. But in doing so, the bottom layer broke apart and couldn't be saved. We DO want you to have SOME cake for the birthday, so we're on our way back with the top 2 layers." I didn't want a partial cake, but she convinced me that at least 2 layers would have some cake available to guests. The venue had an employee then waiting outside to hurry the cake in once it arrived. He stood outside waiting for an hour! No one showed up. No cake, no calls, just more of nothing. And the following day, no calls, no explanations, no offers for a replacement. Just NOTHING. If you are a bakery that is in the business of delivering expensive, fancy, special-events cakes....how does this happen? Yes, I'm angry. I'm still angry as it's 3 days after our event and I can STILL not get ahold of anyone. Nor have they tried to contact me. read more

Mickey's NEVER disappoints! This absolutely beautifully decorated Veterans Day cake, 1/2 white and 1/2 marble, was the star at our lunch celebration and thank God because our lunch was lack luster! The cake was "finger licking good!" Our cake was made and picked up on Saturday, stored in a plastic bag until Monday, but tasted like it was made same day! You know that's some kinda' good! The name on my birthday cake was not correct, they let me know and corrected it. However, I wasn't happy with the fix-you could totally tell the name was swapped. We kinda went around and around for a bit before I came up with the solution to redo all the "Happy Birthday" writing in attempt to have the entire top look more uniform. Though the staff wasn't rude, they didn't seem excited to help me solve my problem as a customer who had paid $60 for a cake. So, the verdict is out of I'll return. My mother purchased my 30th birthday cake from here! I was beyond impressed! Once I got there, I looked through the cake books to get an idea of what I wanted. I was undecided about the flavors I wanted ( a nice gentleman allowed me to sample, this was very helpful). Then I conferenced with a nice young lady that drew up my cake creation. I ordered 2 cakes for my wedding. I paid 2 weeks before the wedding and was told they would be ready the day of. When going to pick them up, we were told that they didn't receive payment so no cakes were made. After showing the receipt, and an hour of arguing, they said they would deliver by 4:30p which was 30 minutes before my ceremony. I live in North Carolina and wanted to send my nephew and his wife a Christmas present. I called to see if they delivered and they said yes. The person I talked to was helpful in helping select a nice Christmas themed 6" cake. I ordered it and ask how muck the delivery would be. She said $25 for delivering a 6" cake. WHAT! This is a 12 minute ride, less than 9 miles away. I guess they saw me coming and was more than happy to take advantage of me. I will never use this place again and I warn you. We used Mickey's Cakes for my daughter's wedding - both bride and grooms cakes. The cakes were beautiful and tasted great. However, the middle layer of the bride's cake was supposed to have their wedding monogram and the letters in the monogram weren't correct. We were all at the church getting ready of course when the cake was delivered so the first we knew of it was when we got to the reception. Of course all the pictures of the cake now have the incorrect monogram. Mickey's cakes are great but make sure you have someone at the reception venue when the cake is delivered so that y0u can be assured that the details are correct. My fiancé and I were so excited about going to pick out our wedding cake. After our meeting with the owner, we found out I had a flat tire. A few minutes later, mr.coleman, the owner of Mickey's parked in handicap loading zone. I was parked in a handicap parking due to my cerebral palsy. My dad shows up and parked on the line of the parking. Mr.Coleman, the owner, comes out and tell us we need to move our car because we were preventing his customers from parking. We told him we are customers. We were getting our wedding cake ordered from them. He said he didn't care. He told us we owned him an apology. He said we were rude. We just asked him if he would give us 5 minutes to fix our tire. He then told me I was not handicapped. He was so worried about losing customers. His horrible customer service cost him $889 sale. I have been using this bakery since 2004 for our wedding cake. Family and friends swear by the goods delivered from this bakery. We have since moved out of state, but every time we visit Little Rock, there is always a dozen cupcakes picked up on the way through. My kids love their cakes for their birthday. The white wedding cake is awesome! I don't know why the previous reviewer believes they have unethical practices and cant separate personal matters from business matters. The staff has always been friendly and accommodating for us. They have taken last minute special orders for me and I have never walked out of the store dissatisfied or unhappy. Getting a quote for a groom's cake was very difficult. I sent a detailed email telling AND showing exactly what we we wanted. The quote they came back with included items that we did not want on the cake. It was almost as if they did not read the email that had been sent. After telling them again what we wanted and sending another email, we were told that the quote would be re-done. It took more than two weeks for us to receive a phone call, which we missed. I called immediately and was told that my information would be taken down for a return call. Two days passed and I didn't hear anything. I called again and was told the same thing. Then another 2-3 weeks passed. Basically, we ended up choosing to use someone else as communication was horrible, and it took way too long for quote. My wedding cake was suppose to be delivered to my venue at 4:00 they delivered it at 6:00 which was the starting time of my reception so that meant that while my guest were trying to enjoy their dinner Mickeys demanded that the doors stay open in !!!20 degree weather!!! While they put my cake together my guest were complaining about being cold....they sat my weeding cake crooked onto my hanging cake table (that I payed 850.00$ for) so that meant it messed up the balance and I couldn't use it! They also left the wax paper in between my cake layers and will not do nothing about it!!!! Very unprofessional and very rude to treat customers like they don't matter!
