Nachos and cocktails

Our experience at Camp Taco was a 10/10. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love this place, ambience, service, and food was awesome.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Birria Tacos
Alex A.

The tacos and beer selection here were great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service and ambiance were good as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The only issue for me was the sides on my dish, they were a bit lacking in flavor and didn't add a whole lot to the dish. Also, expect a decent wait time if you go here during the weekend. We waited about an hour for our table which can be a dealbreaker for some.

Tacos Americano w/ Camp Rice and Camp Pickles

Stopped here after an overnight in Little Rock on our way back home to Texas. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Such a fun atmosphere inside. Very much had a "campy" feel, but done well[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Our server, Sarah, was very friendly and attentive. Brought us refills without us asking and kept our table tidy. We began with the queso poblano and chips and the salsa trio. The queso poblano was heavenly. Loved the poblano flavor. The salsas were really fun to try. Each one was tasty and unique. The tomatillo salsa and chunky red salsa were my favorites but they were all tasty in their own right. I ordered the Tacos Americano for an entree. The plate included two tacos and two sides. I chose the "Camp Rice" and "Camp Pickles." The tacos were very good. The flour tortilla had a slight crisp to it without cracking and falling apart. Delicious. The filling was flavorful and cooked well. It was very wet and messy, but it reminded me of something we might have eaten at camp, only much better. The camp rice was both buttery and bright. I wasn't digging the pickled carrots, though. They were roughly-cut chunks. I think I was expecting l shredded carrots or thin carrot sticks, almost like a slaw. The large chunks didn't absorb the pickling very well and I barely noticed it. My husband ordered the beans and I'd wished I'd ordered those instead. My husband got the birria tacos. He said they were the best birria tacos he's ever had. I tried a bite and thought it was tasty but I'm like the only one on the planet who doesn't love birria tacos. My son ordered the birria ramen. I didn't try it but he said was pretty happy with it. The soup reminded me of a soup we might make while camping but elevated and interesting by making it a ramen. Our bill was brought out in a Babysitters Club Library book which made us smile. Such a fun and yummy experience!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice "camp" feel with outdoorsy decor, eating trays, and employee uniforms all in alignment with the theme.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was freshly prepared and full of flavor. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's also a nice bar area if you're feeling sociable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Check this place out if you're in town. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Didn't get a chance to explore the patio (too cold).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

bean dip

I love a brewery and I heard this place had good cheese dip so it felt like a solid choice for happy hour during our stay in Little Rock. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Maybe I'm soft but the walk here for about 10 minutes was like walking inside a dog's mouth so I was grateful for the wonderful air conditioned interior. The outside seemed nice tho. I couldn't comprehend how people were literally wearing sweatshirts out there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Maybe I need to see a doctor. Anyway, I had already made up my mind about the cheese dip and tbh about the bean dip as well. I was very impressed by their VEGAN cheese dip! I'm vegetarian and thus far on our Deep South road trip I pretty much haven't seen anything on a menu that didn't include a carcass of some sort so this was such a nice surprise. If I lived in the area, I would definitely have to sample the vegan version as well. I wanted to try some of their beers but I am a ho for micheladas and after GF showed me a photo of theirs, I couldn't resist. This thing is huge. It's in a very large, bulbous glass with an upside down beer bottle that slowly feeds the stuff into the drink. They load on garnishes and the straw even has that delicious red shit the outside. It was SO good and had a really nice kick to it. GF ordered the lava lamp something, basically the combo of pina colada and strawberry margarita. This beverage combo sounds like it should be delicious but I feel like at most places it sucks because they use this over-sugared, artificial, cheap mixer bullshit so for that reason, I tend to avoid it. I tried GF's and it was the best I've had. This one is legit. When asked if she liked it, she responded, "mhm". The dips, yes I left you hanging there for a minute, were fantastic. The cheese/jalapeño was not only the perfect texture (not too thin and held up nicely but just gooey enough) but was amazing in the flavor department as well. The bean dip was thicker and a little chunky with some mix ins like tomatoes and jalapeño slices. This was a little more substantial. The chips were great too, crispy, the perfect thickness, and a really nice amount of salt. The service was pretty good, too. Our server checked in on us numerous times. We also ordered paletas, the boozy ones (of course): I the mai tai and GF the tequila sunrise. As of the other shit we had already ordered wasn't already excellent, these were SENSATIONAL and literally the best part of the whole thing. It was basically like having a creamy ice cream pop that also had alcohol in it. There was some cherry shit inside mine too that was DIVINE. I could eat these all day. I can't say enough good things about this place.

Veggie Mexican ramen
Brenna P.

My friend and I came here on a Saturday night. The restaurant is in close proximity to the Lost Forty brewery, so we walked over after looking at the menu. We had a short wait to be seated. They have several of the Lost Forty beers on tap. Since we were getting Mexican, I opted for the "Easy Tiger" Mexican lager. We both got ramen. I am a vegetarian, so I got the veggie one. It was chock full of veggies and the broth was absolutely delicious. I probably would have drank the broth had I not been in public! There are plenty of vegan and vegetarian options on this menu. If you love ramen but are looking for a change up, I definitely recommend this place.

Strawberry Margarita

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great brewery vibes with a tasty Mexican-inspired menu.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The nachos were loaded and full of flavor, perfect for sharing. For drinks, I had a citrus IPA and a frozen strawberry margarita--both were refreshing. The service was excellent and friendly l[[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, it's a nice spot to hang out with friends, grab drinks, and relax.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Spicy chicken tacos

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance was spot on and that was it![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service lacked dramatically to the point I was given someone already paid tab. Never refilled drinks all together slow and miserable. The food was the worst of the experience ordered poblano queso zero taste not even a good cheese taste it was so watered down. Better food and queso at chipotle. For a place called camp Taco the selection is only 4 items really the selection is sparse at best if you have finicky eater probably wouldn't be the place for you . Had the spicy chicken taco and again no flavor or heat the only item that had good flavor was the carrots. The beans tasted like dry dirt ! recommend avoiding

Fried potatoes

Decided to come here on a work trip and boy it did not disappoint. The fried potatoes were sooooo good the crema and sweet Thai chili sauce to dip was the perfect combination. Restaurant was very quiet since it was Easter Sunday but still a nice setting. Great place if you are vegan/GF as they specify on the menu.

Rainbow fish was on

The rainbow fish was amazing! Delicious food and friendly staff made the experience really enjoyable.

Birria ramen

We were driving through Little Rock and checked out this place for dinner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The whole restaurant is a vibe. Eclectic lighting fixtures light up the restaurant showing off many vintage displays.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was very friendly and the food was good. This place would be great for a casual hangout. Definitely try the birria ramen. My husband loved it.

Pollo Tacos with rice and beans. Chips and queso.
Patricia J.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Delicious food, friendly servers, charming atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The beans are amazing and the portions are great, a little too much for one lunch and way too good to leave behind.

On a weeknight evening in Little Rock, our group found ourselves craving Mexican and a quick search led us to Lost Forty's Camp Taco!! A cute restaurant with retro decorations, straightforward menu, and $5 margaritas- what else could you want?! After being seated, we ordered the salsa trio and bean dip for the table to share with each other. Note that the chips and salsa are not complimentary unlike most Mexican restaurants - Camp Taco is a little more "hipster" or "upscale," so it's an appetizer order. Paired with that, I had the rainbow fish tacos with rice and beans, and a house margarita which are both pictured. Besides the slightly steep prices for what I experienced elsewhere in Arkansas, I have ZERO complaints! The fish was crispy, the veggies on the tacos were fresh, the sauces were the perfect amount of spicy (especially when paired with their tomatillo salsa - yum!!!) Listening to Christmas music and watching the clock behind the bar tick backwards were unique experiences at this Mexican restaurant that made it even more enjoyable. I had a great time and hope you will too!

Delicious and refreshing cocktail!
