Micole led me through my most empowered birth experience. She was my doula in my 3rd pregnancy and with her care and wisdom I was able to have a non medicated vbac. While I was pregnant Micole offered sound wisdom to myself and my husband to have tools and practices that helped us prepare for birth. The moment my water broke she stayed with me hours on FaceTime and when it was time to get to the Hospital she showed up within the hour even though she lived an hour away. I remember so many beautiful moments throughout my labor and birth that Micole was there, hands on encouraging not just myself but my husband on how to best support me. I came across Micole's info from a hairstylist I work with and although I was nervous, I gave it a shot and contacted her. She is the sweetest person and she truly helped me surrender to the birthing process and get my mind right. She had a lot of knowledge about what my husband and I were about to embark on and if I would have found her sooner, I would have paid for her to be there with me every step of the way. Meeting Micole while I was walking my dog near my house was truly meant to be! I was 2 weeks before my due date and growing more anxious about the birth. So far I had a uncomplicated first pregnancy and I wanted a birth with as little medical interventions as possible but felt mentally unprepared for the pain. Micole gave me the confidence and encouragement I needed to not be scared of labor. She made herself available 24 hours a day and checked in with me often. Before I even got pregnant I was aware of placenta encapsulation. My cousin told me about it and how much it helped with her with postpartum. So I was 8 months pregnant and was in the search for this service. I was referred to Micole by another friend and loved that she lived so close to home. I was so happy that she responded so quickly and was on board for when I needed her. Micole got the service done in 24 hours but I didn't get to pick it up until the following day. After finding out I was pregnant at 5 months, with no problems, no aches, no pains, birthing my first child at home, delivered by my husband, I thought my second pregnancy would be a breeze... Boy, was I wrong. My pregnancy with my son was completely different, which made me a bit scared. It was a while new experience, I was 4 years older, I hurt everywhere, and there were literally times in which I had to give in to my body and rest. Something that NEVER happened with my first (daughter) pregnancy. I read my books, watched YouTube videos, and meditated on the type of birth I wanted. Yet, I still suffered from anxiety because deep inside, it was all new to me. Although I was going to have another home birth, I went to my OB appointments, did most of the tests and what not... The Drs and I didn't know exactly when I got pregnant, but based off my first US I was given 03/22. The day came, and went... Six days later, I am sitting at my OBs office in disbelief as I am told that my body is not progressing as it should be and rhat I am going to be scheduled for on induction in 2 days. The Dr stated that after a week, the placenta begins to die and that it could cause My baby to die. My heart sank... I was scared. I didn't want my dream of another home birth to endanger my baby. I felt anxious, I didn't know what to do even though my husband kept reassuring me... We got in our car and I sent Micole a picture of my dilation/effacement etc that the Dr had given me. Her words we're a breath of hope. She told me my progress was just as she should be. That my body was doing what it was made to do. She was so reassuring and encouraging during a time that I felt vulnerable. She invited me to he home and we shared our birth experiences, talked about motherhood, nursing, relationships... Where do I begin?!?! My husband and I found out we were pregnant last October with our first baby! We were so overwhelmed with joy but also slightly afraid because we felt completely clueless to all things pregnancy and childbirth related. I had talked to a few people the had used doulas and to be honest had no idea what a doula was until then. So I started doing some research and a few people had mentioned a doula named Micole. During my quest for a doula I stumbled across her yelp and started digging into her website! Something inside me just clicked and I decided to reach out to her. When we connected she had just had her sweet baby seven weeks before and was not sure if she was going to be working again so soon. After some consideration she decided to be our doula! We were thrilled!!!! I still didn't know what to expect through this whole process but I instantly felt better knowing I had someone to lean on for support that has been through this. We started our appointments together and she goes over the basics of pregnancy and labor so that you feel comfortable with certain terms and have an understanding of what is going on with your body. We had several appointments plus a prenatal massage around 38 weeks! Every appointment I left feeling more confident and happy. Micole's warm and welcoming personality makes you feel comfortable and peaceful! She is there for moral support the entire way! No question is a dumb question and she gives you her full support no matter which path you choose. My water broke June 16th and labor did not start for me. The hospital wanted to induce me to get things going but in my heart I knew my baby wasn't ready to come out. Micole fully supported my decision to leave the hospital and return home and wait for our sweet baby to arrive. Not only was she always in contact but she showed up at our house late at night on the 24th to offer some moral support to myself and husband. Within a few hours after she left my contractions went from sporadic and spread apart to every seven minutes. The next day we had our baby. Having micole in the delivery room was a GAME CHANGER!!! She brought her oil diffuser and essential oils and massaged me through contractions. She helped me get more comfortable when the pain was getting unbearable. There is no way in gods green earth I would've been able to deliver all natural without her support! She somehow encourages you and gives you the confidence you need to endure anything. Because of Micole we had the birth experience we always wanted. She is an angel sent from heaven and literally worth every penny and more. This was my second pregnancy but I wanted a natural and totally different birth experience this time around.
