I have dealt with Russ for business and personal computers issues, always very nice, knowledgeable, and willing to explain but most of all willing to listen. A few years ago, he set up our office with new computers, screens, the works. Everything worked great. We are in the process of opening a new location for my work and MCT are already getting the equipment and software needed together for us. On a personal experience, last month my daughter dropped her laptop. The sound button was stuck in the side and would not allow the computer to work correctly, it took Russ and Mike just a few minutes to be able to fix this issue. Saving my daughter from being with out a laptop to do her school work on. Will recommend this place to everyone I know looking for computer help rather its personal or business needs. read more

I have never once been disappointed in the service or the kindness and considerations, the respect, and the friendliness of Mike and the other employees there. After posting a review of my experience on google, the manager or owner, not sure which one he is responded in a very sarcastic tone and after reading several reviews of disappointed customers there was always a nasty response from the owners if you seemed to have a problem or was not satisfied. When I encounter business owners that do that it shows how unprofessional they are. You are not going to please everyone but as a business owner the best thing you can do when you get a negative review is respond by saying, "I'm sorry you were not satisfied with our service", or "I apologize, please let me know what I can do to make this right". But to try to come back and argue with a dissatisfied customer is crazy and unprofessional. I went to him because they had at least 4 stars but I failed to read the reviews and had i done that I would have went elsewhere simply because of his responses to dissatisfied customers. By the way, you stated i left with a REPAIRED laptop, which you so eloquently made sure you capitalized, well just so you know, its still not repaired because its still getting hotter than it should so i will write my experience with you business off as a learning experience and a monetary loss because i would never do business with you again and will make sure my colleagues and friends don't either. Nicest bunch of people you'd want to work with--until you have a problem. They will sell you a product and act as an agent for the computer manufacturer, even recommending certain brands. In my case I bought 3 computers at the same time. I paid an additional fee to have all my data transferred to 2 of the three. When something went wrong with the Gateway they misdiagnosed the problem and charged me for the ineffective "repair." Within 4 hours after picking it up, it did the exact same thing (BSOD). When I called back, they then told me I'd have to return the unit to the manufacturer. This is when I was told they are not an authorized repair center--apparently for any brand they sell. Returning to the manufacturer would have required "10 to 14 days" (according to them) with no guarantee I would even get the same computer back. I would also be responsible for saving and restoring the data that I'd already paid them to do as part of the original purchase price. I had to dispute the credit card charge for the misdiagnosis and ineffective repair with Master Card. They did eventually credit my account, but only after I filed the dispute. All this time, they maintain they could have fixed the laptop, but wanted me to pay for it even though it was under warranty. In the end, I went to Best Buy and bought a new Dell. I loaded the exact same software and data (had to repurchase Office) on my own time. The Dell hasn't missed a beat since I bought it. In fact, I've bought and owned laptops since 1994 and have never had to send one back to the manufacturer for repair. Obviously Micro Computer Technology sold me a defective computer and refuses to do anything about it. read more

hello,..i took my desktop computer to Micro computers about a week ago. Russ, a technician was very kind and considerate. Mike, the owner told me an experience he had with some one with a password with Jesus in it, and he ended up refunding the man his money, My password had Jesus in it too. i felt like he wanted to judge me too, because of his experience with the person. i had bad download and some viruses he said i had. i took computer home and it was doing the same thing. called him and took back the next day but i also changed my password because i was very very offended and disturbed how he judged the man because he was a christian and a problem...bla bla bla. i was almost afraid to take it back and would have taken a lost if it came to him offering me a refund i would not have taken it, but would have taken the lost. no one is perfect and you have all types of customers, the good, the bad, the ugly. get over it. But because of Russ, i give them 5 stars and 0 star because of Mike. no one is a perfect christian Mike, not even YOU! read more

This was the most frustrating experience I've ever had concerning computer repair and service. For 3 weeks MCT Inc. had my CPU and as per our agreement would retrieve data from my hard drive and load it into a refurbished HP CPU that I picked out. The day I was to pick it up I had a funeral to attend so I couldn't make it.. That was on a Friday, Sept 28, 2012. I called them and notified them I would be there first thing Monday morning Oct.1, 2012. When I arrived that morning it was pouring rain. The owner Mike, was on the phone trying to diagnose a computer problem someone was having over the phone. For 15 minutes I stood there while he ignored me. Didn't even acknowledge my presence. Finally he gets off the phone and said "there was too much data when I started Saturday so I was going to have to charge you for another hour of data transfer work" which they charge $75. I said that's fine. I knew there was a lot of data on that computer but he said it would be 2 hours and it would be ready. I ask why isn't it ready now? I called and told you exactly when I expected to pick up the new computer. Mike's excuse was "well I was going to call you this morning" Those are his exact words. Knowing I had already told him I would be there first thing, and maybe he'd have had the time if he didn't spend all that time on the phone trying to fix something any logical person would have realized could not be diagnosed over the phone. Here I was soaking wet in a pouring down rain storm and he wants me to either wait there in the scantly furnished customer area or get back out in the pouring rain to I guess go have coffee for 2 hours while he did the work he'd already had 3 weeks to complete. I took my CPU elsewhere, got the data transferred for far less and into a brand new computer to boot. I would not do business with Mike and MCT if they were the only computer store left on the planet. read more

I was dumbfounded by how this man "Mike" handles his business. I went in Friday to buy a FireWire card. I told him I needed one with a Texas Instruments chipset, as a VIA chipset is not compatible with the audio interface I recently purchased from a friend. He brought out a few cards, and we both looked them over. I noticed one that looked like a SIIG FireWire card, and I asked him if it was. He said "Yeah, it looks like one of theirs. They use yellow boards". I said "Okay, I'd like that one then please. I read good reviews on its compatibility with my audio hardware." I was in the store for maybe 20 minutes. I got home, put it in my computer and had issues with it immediately. I tried to update drivers through windows, to no avail. So I pulled the card out and found that it was a UniBrain Fireboard 400. I looked it up online, and found that they had software development kits for their hardware, but no actual drivers. I assume these must be for IT schools, for students to develop drivers. I don't know. Anyway, I called them Monday to ask if I could exchange it for another part. I told him what had happened, and said "I know you don't take returns, but is it possible for me to exchange it for something else?" he replied with "Yeah, bring it in". And hung up on me. I brought it in the next day, he saw me, stomped off to the back and I heard some printing and papers being shuffled. He came up to the front counter, slammed down a receipt, check and pen on the counter. I signed the receipt, and asked "So do I exchange this for another card?" he looked at me and said "I wouldn't take that for one of those mint in the box. I spent too much time and effort with you to get you what you needed. I had the card right there for you, and you said 'No, I want THAT one, it's a SIIG!". It was laid out very clearly for you, but apparently it wasn't clear enough. Whatever, you're the pro! Now I'd appreciate it if you leave this store and don't come back". I said "Sir, no, it wasn't anything like that-" he cut me off, told me to leave and pointed to the door. I said "Alright sir, I'm sorry it went like this. Have a nice day". Got in my car and left, and will never recommend this store to ANYONE. All he had to do was tell me on the phone Monday, that he wouldn't do the exchange or return and that would have been the end of it. I didn't expect my money back, I was just trying to see if I could work with him under the circumstances. read more
