I had the Barracks Black and I can't recall the beer my wife got but I think it was an amber ale of sorts. Both were good. I really enjoyed the black and we ended up buying some to take home with us. It's like "dream comes true" to us! :) We had a few flights, and beer was awesome as expected. The pleasant surprise though, is that they also have a relatively long list of rare bottles on their menu. We tried the 2022 L'Exorciste and we absolutely love it! Their patio is spacious with a chill atmosphere - perfect place to hang out with a few friends on warm and sunny days! Food quality is good - I'd say it's slightly above average "pub food" (hence, a solid 3.5 stars). Factoring in the 5-star rating for the beer, that's why I'd give them a 4-star overall. As you'd expect, we bought a full box of beers (including a few bottles of L'Exorciste) before we left. I'll definitely come back when I visit the area again in the future!

He also ordered the Saison Farmhouse ale and though I'm not much of a beer drinker I went back for seconds. The quality and fresh ingredients came through and I loved the tiny fizzy bubbles compared to your average beer. Sooooo good- every bit of it including the warm cozy atmosphere and the attentive service. And did I say that the fries are actually baked and not fried? No guilt here for eating every bite!

The olive plate was a lot more than I had expected with a nice variety of olives. The nachos were layered really well, almost every chip had cheese or something on it. While I am not a beer person myself, I'll have a round or two if I'm with a group, and can appreciate a good brewery. My first impression of Dieu du Ciel was just that - the vibes were on walking in. The space is pretty large - kinda separated into semi- compartmentalized spaces with tables throughout. There's not much decor, but medium-toned woods throughout which gave it a sort of upscale feel. They offer a food menu, but we were just here for drinks. They have a really wide selection of beer - again, I'm no connoisseur, but I could tell that the selection was way more than other breweries I've been to. I ended up getting a cider for the first round and a stout for my second round - both very good. Service was great, and overall we enjoyed our time at Dieu du Ciel. Their selection and comfortable setting made it a standout brewery for me out of the ones I've visited in Montreal - I wouldn't hesitate to return.
