However, when I asked about installing a system that would also remove the arsenic in the drinking water, each one said he would "check into it and get back" to us--which never happened. We made follow up calls to ask for more information, and were again told we would receive a call back--but we never did. He didn't expect us to have a problem, and we didn't, but he left us with a plan of action if any problem did occur. I bought my water softener in December 2019 because I wanted to replace my cheap water softener with one that used less water and I wanted a softener that was attached to a local company so I could get it serviced and have peace of mind. I had all of the major players come out to the house for an estimate (this seems to be the business model for the higher end water softeners) and I really appreciated the muted sales pitch and technical analysis this company provided compared to others. Additionally, the company is locally owned an operated which really set them apart from the others. Also, I appreciated that this softener includes a water filter in addition to a higher quality resin. After giving them a small deposit they were able to install my new unit (using a master plumber) within 3-4 days of my initial consultation. In addition to the salesman, the owner showed up as well as the plumber and all were very thorough in explaining how to care for the system and very patient in answering all of my questions.
