The reviews are correct. Do not do business with Microtek. I have Amazing Streamz TV through Microtek. The owner will provide support through Discord app. I find Discord difficult to use. Apparently I upset the owner and was locked out of discord. So now I have no support for a simple question. Owner will not return phone calls. Owner is useless, abusive, difficult, and an utter POS. Do yourself a favor and don't deal with this business. read more

I bought two Firestick TV systems, two Amazing Streamz subscriptions, and a laptop. Eddie has the personality of a snake and his morals are lower. Something went wrong with the laptop and he's had it for a week and still hasn't looked at it. Useless. Yes, it's a local business and that was a big reason for me to go there. I wanted to warn people about a man who operates a computer shop on 1776 Tamiami Trail in Venice. He sells a program called amazing streamz. His company is called Microtek Systems. I purchased three systems from him in June for approximately $360 and I also purchased an extended phone warranty plan which I could call him and ask him questions for three months. He never explained when I bought the systems that I would not be allowed to call the store after my warranty expired. The other day when I called to ask him a question, he started to yell at me. I have called him approximately three times and have encountered the same arrogant person. When he started yelling at me, I responded and said "whatever". And I hung up the phone. After that, he responded to me via text telling me that "I build custom Lamborghini engines while you people twirl Lugnuts and air fresheners". He has threatened to cancel my service even though I am paid up until June. It should also be noted, that I have no problem paying him for services such as upgrading downloads and such. When I purchased the product from him he never said that there would be times that I would have to upgrade my system. I am not a tech savvy person so do not understand how to download things. Do not do business with this guy because he has no customer service skills and is completely rude and totally arrogant. Nobody needs to be treated like a complete idiot. I have no doubt after posting this he will cancel my service. In which case I am going to report him to the better business bureau. I called and the receptionist did not know what I was looking for. She went to the owner and came back and said they had the drive enclosure to convert an internal HD to external. I inadvertently picked up the wrong part (drive) and released it when I got to the store. Manager talked the through the problem and sold me the right enclosure. Took it home and it was very easy to assemble and I had it working within 15 minutes. I will return to this place for future needs. read more

This company came out to our park to give a presentation on streaming. Being in the back of the hall we couldn't quite hear the whole presentation so we wanted to stop by their store to learn more and possibly buying the package. There was no address on the pamphlets they passed out making it difficult to find the place. Walked in and Angie the woman that gave the presentation was busy so the owner sat us down to go through the streaming with us. Not bad until I asked a question such as how much it would cost to send someone out for support he flipped out and started yelling at me telling me I berated him and walked away yelling. I went back to his window and said you're yelling cause I asked u a question he went on and on. I have never in my life seen such poor customer service. I was given 2 faulty parts on 2 separate occasions for my Apple laptop. When I called for an explanation I was told that Apple was at fault. I can understand once but twice seems unreasonable. When we returned to the store, the owner was rude and beligerent. We did get our money back for the 2nd part but the whole experience was beyond negative. Be very careful using this company. Took computer in for some repairs was told one price and when I called to see if was done the price had jumped. Never got a ok from me to pay the higher price. I had to give them my pass word and I didn't feel good about them having it. I asked if they could explain how to change the pass word and was told it would cost $45.00 to learn how. We are Venice residents who have taken 2 computers to Microtek and both times, the folks there way exceeded our expectations. Our first breakdown was an older desktop computer; we didn't know anything about Microtek but they did a terrific job, fixing it for a reasonable price and in a great turnaround time. Our second visit was because of a newer laptop, still under extended warranty, that we didn't want to send away and risk losing data off of it. Again, Microtek fixed it perfectly in a reasonable time frame and for a reasonable price. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone. read more

The owner Eddie is a really good guy. He will make sure your computer needs are met with a friendly attitude. He fixed my daughters touchscreen laptop. It was new, and the screen cracked it works well now and touch screens are tricky. Honest, good service and the best place in Venice. read more
