It is old and smells like feet, but it's quiet and clean, has good hot water and comfortable beds & pillows. Internet and coffee are good. There are 2 stories, with both an elevator and carpeted wide stairs. Unfortunately we were first given a dank room (126) with a nonworking HVAC. Then it took ~30min to get passkeys to another room!! It was hard to stay calm with the clerk. But room 132 was much better (I think a suite). The window was screened and opened for fresh air. Woohoo! The bathroom had an exhaust fan, also a big plus. Sink area was tiny but plenty of fresh towels. Tiny toiletries were provided. Paper products stiff but OK, flush pretty good but clunky, shower pressure OK and it gets Hot. Our new room was by the side door so that was perfect for being unobtrusive bringing in and out our bicycles. Rooms are big enough to store bikes out of the way. The guy at the front desk said "many, many" people bring in bikes. Our room even had a photo of a bicycle! There are plenty of restaurants in nearby towns. Afterwards we slept pretty well despite a room that never got cool. Breakfast (6-8am!) was "Eh," but we had a waffle, greasy sausage, prefab scrambled eggs, an ill-tasting hardboiled egg, nice apple juice, and plenty of coffee. We skipped the old-looking fruit, cereal, sugary mini-muffins and generic yogurt . It was not crowded at all. Afterwards we returned and relaxed in our quiet room (132 has 2 TVs!). Checked out and back to trail. In conclusion, this place is older and slow, but also quietly relaxing and comfortable. If old carpeting doesn't bother you, then this place is a good value. It is very close to the Canalway trail.

The hotel is renovated with the room and the basic amenities kept in decent condition. Our room had comfortable beds and included a kitchenette that was convenient for our multi-day stay. Complementary breakfast till 9:30 on weekdays provided a nice standard variety including warm cinnamon rolls, bacon/sausage & egg, yogurts & fruits. Freshly ground medium roast & decaf coffee were a nice touch from the machine. There are no restaurants in the hotel but options were nearby within short driving distance. The indoor pool included a hot whirlpool. The fitness room overlooking this had a full rack of weights for light workout. Both were minimally used but equipped with towels and sanitation station, respectively. The outdoor patio in the back of the hotel was clean and well-maintained. There are also charging stations on-site. Skip it or hit it? We were happy with our stay at Holiday Inn Express Rochester Webster and would consider again!

Bathroom layout and shower were good, but toilet kept running. Worse, the old AC unit kept cycling off and on. The room was too warm even when we lowered setpoint to 62. The breakfast area was very nice and food adequate. The courtyard was very pretty but everyone sees you when you are in it. The best thing here is the staff. They are pleasant and the place, while old, is clean. If they changed the lightbulbs and the cleaning solutions, it would go a long way, imo.

Thankfully the parking lot is well lit and there are plenty of spaces so I was able to find a spot no problem! After parking, when I tried entering the door was locked (for security purposes, I'm sure). I rang the doorbell and within a minute or two, someone opened the door. Just something to be aware of if you arrive late at night. After a couple false starts (initially my room keys didn't work), I got to my room. The rooms are spacious and the bed was comfortable. There was a coffee pot that I made use of both mornings I was there (and was grateful for it). They have a breakfast but it isn't complimentary (I think she said it was $10 for the sort of continental breakfast buffet and $17 for ordering off the menu). Overall, the hotel itself is a little old and worn (not in a vintage-y cool way, more a bit sad). The carpet in the elevator was threadbare and stained. The hallways were also stained and the tile in the lobby wasn't very clean. I appreciated the comfortable stay and one evening the sales manager was in the lobby offering complimentary appetizer bites, which was nice. But, beyond that, this Hilton just hasn't been kept up very well.

The entire place is charmingly historic but also thoroughly updated / remodeled, so everything is in perfect working order and clean/stylish. Service: Gary, the innkeeper/manager, is amazing. He treated us so well and makes the most delicious homemade muffins and eggs for breakfast! He's friendly, caring, and a great resource throughout the stay, who is accessible but not intrusive. Getting around: Like I said, great location and also very easy for Uber/Lyft to find. We were going to rent a car but honestly didn't really need one. If you do, though, there's parking on site in the back and also plenty of parking on the street. Overall, just a terrific place!!!
