I HIGHLY recommend staying here if you want to enjoy your time in Skaneateles I would definitely stay there again . My husband and I enjoyed our time here , it's right in the middle of everything the beautiful town of Skaneateles has to offer , food , shopping , coffee houses , bakery's etc .... The shower in the bathroom is to die for and the loft had a full kitchen so if you don't feel like eating out you can stay in and cook and enjoy your meal at the table right by the doors looking out at the lake , can't wait to plan our vacation for the summer time and bring the kids with us this time , they would love it just as much as we did ! Definitely going back , prices are perfect for such a great location , staff are amazing and attentive if you need anything they are there for you ! WAY better than staying in a hotel if your in the area you should definitely book a room here ! Also I can't leave out how AMAZING The beds are with cozy sheets and comforters , bed is so nice makes you not want to get out of it ( no joke ) they even provide you with cozy robes for your stay !

Here's what you're getting at…read morethe Rustic Log Cabins on the Leidenfrost Vineyard: - Beautiful views of the lake (not sure if you can get to the lake from the cabins, we accessed the lake through a friend's house on the water.) - Peaceful - A one minute walk to the Liedenfrost Winery (it's literally right next door) - Your own private cabin with a fridge, two beds (our's had one single and one queen), dressers, table, chairs, porch with rocking chairs, and a picnic table. - Communal bathroom - like at a campground. - Across the street is Curtan's (?) Market - Cheese, hot sauces, produce, ice, and sandwiches. - No Wi-Fi - BUGS - bring A LOT of bug spray. The bugs will crowd around your door while you're inside at night. If you have to leave while it's dark, we learned the trick of turning the lights off at first, letting most of the bugs leave the door, then running out! (This was the number one con for us.) - Bring flashlights!! - You have to bring your own sheets, blankets, pillows, towels, etc. Approach the log cabins like you're going camping. If you hate camping and bugs, then there are plenty of hotels. But if you love to camp, like me, you'll enjoy this place. It's inexpensive and would be great for a group of friends to rent out all the cabins.

Had an absolutely wonderful time at these cabins!…read more My group of 15 enjoyed their stay at the Rustic Log Cabins. We rented out all four of the cabins, which meant we did not have to share the bathrooms with other groups and we were able to be a little louder than what you would expect at a state park camping grounds. I brought my dog on the wine tour and she had a blast as well. The cabins were pet friendly, and Jackie was so kind, telling me to be careful around the road (route 414) because a lot of people speed/whip right by. Cabins: The cabins were very quaint. My group went camping at a state park last year and had a blast. A lot of people thought the cabin would be too much, but they were perfect. We all had enough room to sleep on a bed, had electricity to charge our phones, and refrigerators to keep our beverages and leftover food from lunch and dinner cold. Each cabin had their own picnic table and bonfire. We just made one bonfire and moved a table over to accommodate all the people we had. There were stoves in the cabins, but we did not use them. There was firewood provided, which was very nice. Communication: Jackie was very easy to contact. We made our reservations two months in advance, and we kept in contact until the day of our arrival. She sent me a reminder in the mail, stating the remaining balance on a little brochure that stated more information about the cabins. I contacted her five days before our reservation confirming our arrival time and she promptly responded. When we arrived the day of our reservation, the cabins were clean and ready to go. She met us at the cabins and gave us a lot of suggestions as to where to go around the area. I would definitely recommend staying at these cabins if you are looking for a happy medium between camping and a hotel. My group loves the outdoors, so being able to have a bonfire and watch the stars at night was simply perfect!

Admiral Peabody's Lakeside Lodging - My husband and I enjoyed a sample of a local wine on the private dock! Our pup liked watching the fish jump:)

I am really glad they did. We stayed in a two bedroom unit with my parents. There was plenty of room for all of us. There were plenty of blankets and towels, and the full-sized kitchen gave the place a nice home-like feel. There were even chilled glasses in the freezer for our drinks! The view from the patio is amazing. We enjoyed some time just sitting outside watching boats sail around the lake. For the July 4th fireworks, we sat on the deck (which is exclusive for guests) right on the water. We could not have asked for a better view. As much as we liked the atmosphere of the room, we liked the owners even better. We interacted mostly with Olga, who was so sweet and accommodating. Anything we needed was provided. She treated us to a fresh watermelon, and even allowed my wife (who is a die-hard Buffalo Bills fan) to take a Bills glass that was in the freezer home. I cannot say enough good things about Admiral Peabody's. It is definitely a place at which I would stay over and over again.

My husband and I found…read morethis place last week by accident through a recommendation from a concierge at another hotel. We needed to find last-minute accommodations that would allow our dog and also didn't cost $500 a night after our van broke down unexpectedly. Admiral Peabody's was an affordable, clean and dog friendly hotel in Watkins Glen that we totally lucked into because it didn't even come up on our searches! This place totally exceeded our expectations. Admiral Peabody's doesn't feel like a hotel. It feels like your own lakeside cottage. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite. We were able to sneak a look at the one bedroom bungalow cottages which were also adorable! Our suite was roomy, comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. It was also really nice sitting on the deck right outside of our room. PLUS, Admiral Peabody's has a private dock right on the lake with tables, chairs and a blue tooth music system. I'm not sure how old this yelp listing is but the owner now is Luke. HE IS THE BEST. If you are looking for a great place to stay in Watkins Glen, don't pass up this hidden gem.

You can't just ban customers because they want to reschedule their trip. What kind of scam business is this? Cheryl is a disgustingly rude person - just look at the way she has replied to other customers. There is a fire pit and corn hole equipment to use in front of the cabins. This is a perfect place to rent for a group or even as a couple or family. It's so nice that there is a wine tour option available with these cabins. We did a 6 hour tour and it was super convenient. The wineries in the Finger Lakes are amazing! The van that took us was clean and had snacks and waters in it. Great added feature for the accommodations. Cheryl and Jim are such nice people! They dealt with everything in a very professional and kind manner. They are so responsive to emails and any questions we had while staying. They are available to help with anything you may need during your stay, but they are non-intrusive and give you your privacy at the same time. They are some of the kindest people I have ever met. They gave us so much information about the cabins and area beforehand. This definitely help make our experience a great one. I will definitely be back to the cabins as soon as I can!

The house has two porches, an enormous master bath, and a beautiful fire pit with seating and all the wood you can burn. We easily fit four cars in the driveway. Oh, and the raspberries and blackberries that Ed grows on the property were delicious. All the houses on the property are connected by a short, well-maintained trail system. There are several benches, picnic tables and even a few fire pits within the trail system, which also has built in lighting if you want to venture out at night! My highlight was enjoying my coffee while listening to a chorus of birds and frogs at the duck pond one morning. A brilliant way to start one's day!

Most of them seem really simple to fix, so I was a little let down that as busy as they are and as hard as it is to get reservations that they dont carve out time to upgrade. The bed was so uncomfortable that you sink in the middle. My husband ended up sleeping on the twin bunk because he suffers with back pain and couldn't tolerate the mattress. The couch is also pretty sunken in and at a strange slope. Its a pretty couch but not comfortable. The jets in the hot tub need major cleaning. The shower curtain is pretty disgusting and needs to be replaced or thoroughly cleaned. The condition of the pots and pans are unacceptable. It would be nice to have some disinfectant spray to clean the counters and tables and a new sponge for washing dishes. I think a privacy curtain would be excellent for the front door. Being able to see through as the breakfast gets delivered is not ideal or private. Overall, we had a nice stay here and would probably come again if these issues were updated. It is old and smells like feet, but it's quiet and clean, has good hot water and comfortable beds & pillows. Internet and coffee are good. There are 2 stories, with both an elevator and carpeted wide stairs. Unfortunately we were first given a dank room (126) with a nonworking HVAC. Then it took ~30min to get passkeys to another room!! It was hard to stay calm with the clerk. But room 132 was much better (I think a suite). The window was screened and opened for fresh air. Woohoo! The bathroom had an exhaust fan, also a big plus. Sink area was tiny but plenty of fresh towels. Tiny toiletries were provided. Paper products stiff but OK, flush pretty good but clunky, shower pressure OK and it gets Hot. Our new room was by the side door so that was perfect for being unobtrusive bringing in and out our bicycles. Rooms are big enough to store bikes out of the way. The guy at the front desk said "many, many" people bring in bikes. Our room even had a photo of a bicycle! There are plenty of restaurants in nearby towns. Afterwards we slept pretty well despite a room that never got cool. Breakfast (6-8am!) was "Eh," but we had a waffle, greasy sausage, prefab scrambled eggs, an ill-tasting hardboiled egg, nice apple juice, and plenty of coffee. We skipped the old-looking fruit, cereal, sugary mini-muffins and generic yogurt . It was not crowded at all. Afterwards we returned and relaxed in our quiet room (132 has 2 TVs!). Checked out and back to trail. In conclusion, this place is older and slow, but also quietly relaxing and comfortable. If old carpeting doesn't bother you, then this place is a good value.
