Perhaps their service is okay; perhaps not. I couldn't get past the initial phone call. The woman who answered was rude and belittling and did not listen to or, of course, answer the question I was trying to ask. I decided to end the call after a few minutes and try somewhere else. I haven't had any service provided by this company, but was personally recommended to them by someone who said they knew them well and to use their name. When I finally got a call back from them; the woman was curt and questioned how I knew that my problem was actually from termites. When I gave her my address she immediately said they did not go to that town. However, their service area is no more than 3-5 miles from me. I mentioned the recommendation and she basically said "too bad". When I asked her for another local provider that she might recommend she said she had no idea. Really? The Cape is a small area and they are within a reasonable distance to me. Amazing that they are unaware of their competitor's and so quickly turn down a recommendation from another area trade person who they know. Guess they do not need my business. read more

I can't discourage people enough from hiring this company. After several years with them the owner retired and the company was taken over by one of its employees. In October 2017 I spoke with the owners wife and renewed my contract for 2018. It was to run April thru August 2018. I paid for the renewal in full. As of June 1st no one had come to begin the 2018 service. I called and spoke with the office manager who was extremely rude and told me "I needed to be patient ." It was at this time that I found out the original owner had retired. There was no notification either by phone or mail. In addition, the terms of my contract were being changed. Instead of coming every 60 days they would now be coming every 120 days. This would be twice during the contract period. I was denied a partial refund. I phoned the office once again, 10 days later. This time I was told I HAD been serviced. There was no proof of this. In the past a checklist concerning the service would be left behind. I was informed that the company would no longer be providing these at the time of service. I asked to speak to the new owner. I received a return call from him the next day. Somehow this situation had become my fault. He told me I had no grounds for a complaint and that I was wasting his time. He did not feel that changing the terms of my contract, especially without my knowledge, was an issue. I have never experienced such a lack of customer service. He informed me that he would come one time before the expiration of the contract and "pull the termite cannisters out of the ground." read more

Unprofessional, cancelled the morning of the appointment, refused to provide an insurance certificate, and potentially has something to hide! Stay away! We needed black ants treatment on the Cape. I called them on Thursday, July 2. It was a holiday weekend, and it was great to get on their calendar because others were not available for a while. This is where positive things ended though. I asked for a certificate of liability insurance for when they come in. They scheduled me for Tuesday, July 7 morning. Imagine my frustration and disbelief when I got a call from their office at around 8:30am the day of the appointment! The owner decided to cancel at the 11th hour because asking for an insurance certificate was a red flag for him! I had to drop everything and scramble to get someone else to come in because I had to get the treatment done in the next day or two. I also took a day off to let them in and see this through. So, thanks to them I wasted a whole day. a) If a contractor comes to your house to treat it with chemicals, I would hope that you are asking for a current certificate of liability insurance to ensure that they have proper coverage in case something goes wrong, whether with the work itself or in case their truck damages something on the property or a number of reasons to have and to check liability coverage. Other two pest control companies I called subsequently after the cancellation were happy to provide their certificates and said they had them in their trucks! They were actually willing to show the certificates as evidence that they were professionally-run operations with proper coverage as well as licenses. I also called the MA Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, Pesticide Applicator Licensing and Certification Fee, and they confirmed that it is a good practice to ask for a certificate. That office also could not see a reason why a contractor would not want to produce it. b) It is absolutely inappropriate to cancel the morning of the appointment, after it was on the books for days. When I told them that it is inappropriate and unprofessional and told that I will write reviews online to share what kind of company it is, they called me back in an hour or two to say that they were willing to do the job. Well, at that point I already got Termite Company of Cape Cod to come in, and they were willing to provide liability insurance verification and references. And their license with the state was up to date as well! Recommendation: If you decide to use this company (which I would recommend you not to begin with), you should not only get a certificate of insurance (aka Acord page) but you should also call their insurance company to verify that they are in good standing and that there have not been claims against the policy in the last several years (contact information should be on the certificate). I'd be hesitant to hire them without this verification. The fact that they refused to provide a certificate and cancelled the last minute is a sign of trouble that they may have something to hide. For reputable companies in contracting business it is a standard verification step, especially when someone works with chemicals in your house and on your property. Also get a couple of references and verify them. Lastly, call the state to ensure that their license is up to date. The refusal to provide an insurance will hopefully be a reason for the state to inspect this company's records. What if they lost insurance and have difficulty getting insurance because they did something wrong? At the end of the day, I do not recommend this company! read more

I was very unhappy with the service. I live very far away and called for their help with a suspected ant problem. I needed them to go into the home and look at the kitchen wall where I believed carpenter ants had gotten in. I also expressed to them that my parents would be the ones to let them in but to listen to what I said and not them because I knew my father might forget why they were there, which was exactly the case. They arrived on time and spoke to my father who said there was no problem. They sprayed outside of my house but never once came into the house or verified whether or not we had ants. They then charged me for a service I did not want or ask for. I had said if they had wanted to do anything other than spray in the wall in my kitchen that they were to call me and they did not. I was very displeased because nothing I expressed in my phone call was abided by. It also took several calls to get a real person on the phone in the first place. This was a very difficult place to work with and I am very upset that they want me to pay for services that I never approved. read more
