On this visit, we mostly visited the kids section even though I have been in the other areas when I've been alone. The children's section has a lot of nice resources and several computers for older children. There is and enjoyable discovery section for smaller children with activities next to large windows and some tables with age-appropriate chairs with a variety of learning toys. We checked out some toddler board books for my grandson. I do wish they had a better selection of board books. I feel like it was difficult to select appropriate books for him from the selection they had.

I was surprised to see all of the diverse books on the shelves and pamphlets available with information for what Juneteenth means! The library staff aren't the most welcoming, but if you have questions they will answer in depth. This place just isn't for books, they have dvds, host book discussions, art and exhibitions. So cool that they offer FREE career development classes from finance to sewing! The new Black & Veatch MakerSpace is dedicated to those wanting to learn or refresh sewing skills or basics of metal casting. The BEST part is that they have book clubs for kids in 1st grade all the way to high school and a few that get active! With all of the events no local child should be bored this summer!

The staff was incredibly helpful and they have rooms that you can rent for work or personal events. And never thought I'd say that the views were great from a library, but they are. Parking on the street isn't too bad if you can't find anything in the lot. I'm just so excited that there's still libraries and that they have good selections and comfortable places that you can purview books.

The whole atmosphere of this library is not friendly. I walked in the other day with a big load of books to return and two children and politely asked the customer desk person where to return the books. He said in a snarky voice, "Where it says Returns all the way in the back!" His attitude is not called for, especially while working the customer service desk. People are going to ask questions and in fact quite a few people after me asked where to bring their returns. Even though the library is newer/more modern, they do not have a good welcoming atmosphere and I noticed there doesn't seem to be that many people there every time I've gone.

I always have to put a hold on the book which is no problem but, they allow you two weeks to read the book and if some else requests a hold then you can't renew it and have to eat the fees until you finish the book. It's definitely a 3rd world problem that I will continue to deal with but a courtesy for 2-3 renewals should be standard.

The libraries I grew up visiting had 90s flair, and while amazing spaces that kept me entertained all summer long, they didn't have the grandeur of an iconic inner city library - like this one. The first time I stepped foot in here as a young adult I was in awe. It's just a gorgeous building, and incredible atmosphere to sit and read. The parking garage is set up to look like a bookshelf which I think is cute, and I love how you can just get lost in here and enjoy the space. It just FEELS like a library which sounds dumb but is true. What pushes this into five star territory for me though is the rooftop terrace. On a nice day there really isn't a better spot for an urban picnic.

They then asked for my date of birth, which I don't provide on the phone for security purposes, unless of course it's my bank or credit card company. Needless to say, this person refused to help me and said she was ending the call. Please note that I called a different branch and got all the help I needed, including courteous customer service.

The person whom they have story tell for Pre-K story time is not as good or entertaining for the kiddos. They offer great selection of books, CDs and DVDs too, for both kids and adults. I have not been able to join in on any of the adult classes or activities but I've heard they are also great. Overall, I highly recommend this library to anyone in the area looking for some free and fun things to do for yourself or your child!

Imagine my shock at finding out this small town had a library! This is a very nice library, as well. It is very well stocked and, apparently, part of the Kansas City, Missouri library system. I am a Kansas resident so I could not get a library card but no matter. I enjoyed the atmosphere very much. They have a very wide selection at the Mid-Continent Public Library. They had a vast collection of materials. They also have inter-library loan programs through their system. A patron would not want for materials of all kinds at this library. They had all different types of media available for use or check out. This is a terrific resource. The tables and study desks were very comfortable and no one seemed bothered that I camped out here for a day. This was a nice, quiet place to study and reflect. Riverside is lucky to have this establishment. I did not interact much with staff on my visit but they seemed nice and pleasant. They also seemed happy which is always something I look for in employees. They helped a great number of people and were always busy. Parking and access were easy, too. There is a huge private lot in front of the library so no worries. This is also an easy access library. It's nice to be hassle free when visiting. Great library, large collections and comfortable areas.

They also have useful and fun programming for all ages. This is a great place to start taking your children every week to get them to be lifelong readers. The library is probably one of my favorite places on earth. They have public use computers and free wifi.
