The office staff in Ormand Beach needs to be schooled how to talk to patients, the doctor is fine. I took me three weeks to get my biopsy results as they said my insurance would not cover it, I have Medicare part B that costs me $700 a month and a secondary from Mutual of Omaha, After Dr. Morrison performed the Mohs I was told to wait for an hour for the results, I waited and hour and a half and was told maybe later, normally you are given results before you leave. It was not till the next day after I had to call them did, I get the results, I never heard of a practice having to send Mohs biopsy to another location. When I did speak to someone, they treated me like I was a piece of trash. If I did not live 750 miles North, I would have gone to my normal dermatologist, next time if it happens, I will stay away from this practice. read more

I had an appointment on April 20 for a suspicious mole on my forehead. I saw an NP or PA Shannon. They removed some cells for biopsy. No instructions on wound care but I'm not an idiot so no big deal. Since it is on my face I would have appreciated hints to lessen the chance of scarring but the biopsy results are what is important, right? When you leave, they hand you a paper telling you it will be 1-2 weeks for results and they'll call - if you don't hear after 2 weeks, call them. I waited almost 3 weeks and called on the 10th. I got an answering service and they said that the MA will call me back. I never got a call so I called again today. The person answering the nurses line irritatedly told me that a return call takes 24-48 business hours but she would take a look. She then states that she isn't medically trained to give me my results and that I would have to wait for Vanessa or Shannon to call me and that neither was in until Tuesday!! Today is Thursday. If I get a call on Tuesday (I'm not holding my breath) it will be almost a month from my visit. I said that I wanted to speak with Shannon's supervising doctor, who could give me my results. She outright told me that Dr. Morrison is a Plastic Surgeon and "won't call you back." I plan to call FHCP and let them know of this because I want to get a second opinion regardless of what this place claims- if I ever find out! Seems like they are more geared to simple cosmetic things like fillers, etc. than actual medicine. If you are concerned about skin cancer or a real dermatological problem- go elsewhere. read more

My mistake in not checking the reviews first. I generally check reviews. First bad sign was not receiving a return phone from the doctor as I requested, prior to the procedure. I had a small cyst removed from a sensitive area. Before the procedure I finally had a chance to ask the questions I needed answered. The Dr. assured me I would have flat stitches, and several to keep scarring to a minimum. During the stitching process, I could tell that it wasn't applied with precision. Random rough pulling! I took pics after. It was a awfully applied. The healing process proved true. I now have a raised scar, larger than the small cyst! I went back for a follow up and voiced the concern to the medical assistant (before seeing the doctor). She was more compassionate than the Dr. The assistant suggested that I massage the area and assured me that it's part of the healing process. Dr. Morrison on the other had barely looked at it and stated it's healing properly just don't touch it if the raised scar bothers you! Not to touch my body! And yes it bothers me. It's worst than before! Finally. After voicing my concern about the scarring she stated it will thin out in about a year. A year! Unacceptable! I've had a past cosmetic procedure and was healed in less time than that! Now, I must have the poor practices on my body corrected by a plastic surgeon whose reviewed the pics and can correct the (mid Fl doc) awful procedure. I thought having a woman Dr. would be more sensitive and compassionate about another's woman's body but that certainly wasn't the case with this female doctor. Never-Ever again will I use Mid Fl dermatology for anything. Dr. Morrison, shame on you! One more note. The wait time is unbelievable! Dr. Morrison performed a single mastectomy on me in September 2021. We talked extensively about permanent reconstruction being done at the time of the mastectomy. My skin is supple as I carried two children full term and have no stretch marks . After much insistence from me, she finally conceded I could possibly be a good candidate for permanent replacement. She drew on me, took pictures, and wrote herself a note in her cell phone to remind her as normally does only temporary reconstruction. When I woke up after surgery I never saw her but I was informed that temporary construction was performed. Doctor Morrison stopped by the following day to visit me at the hospital because I kept inquiring why my procedure had been changed. Her reply to me was " In her professional opinion, I was a better candidate for temporary reconstruction" I ask why several times and was given no further explanation. I visited Dr. Morrison and my cancer surgeon once a week for three weeks. On my first visit to my oncologist at the end of the third week, he determined I had an internal and external infection. I called Dr. Morrison's Ormond Beach office numerous times Friday and Saturday. I also left a message on the nurses line but never received a return phone call. They actually had the audacity to say that I called the wrong number when in fact the number was saved in my cell phone and they had called me from it on numerous occasions. I finally went at a walk-in clinic on Monday and they were able to reach Dr. Morrison on the phone. I made an appointment for late Monday afternoon at her office. When I arrived she immediately removed all of my reconstruction in her office during covid. I was mortified... She never even suggested any other alternative including possibly antibiotics. The last thing I ask her was what I be able to drive myself home that day. I certainly was not expecting such an extreme measure. I have been left severely disfigured and with only one breast. I have had two other surgeons in the area refuse to try and repair her work. Recently I finally got approval from Mayo clinic in Jacksonville to have reconstruction there. The process is way worse because now I am required to have skin grafts and this procedure takes two surgeons 8 to 10 hours. And in addition because I am now cancer-free I am not a priority at the Mayo Clinic so I have to be on standby. I can expect to get only a two week notice once I get the call and a date is scheduled. As a former patient, I feel her professional opinions need to be scrutinized. Masectomys have been performed for many many years so my procedure should not have been anything a trained surgeon could not handle. It's just ridiculous that I'm having to go through so much additional surgery and scarring because of her incompetence. read more

4 months ago i started this journey to start accutane, I have bad cystic acne and they said I would start in month. Went the same day to get lab work then they said it needed to be fasted, went back and finished that and have been calling them endlessly to get my prescription. Nobody ever calls back. Finally after forcing them to see me I go in take a final pregnancy test and was told I could pick my medicine up today (November 20th). I call the pharmacy and they never sent it in and again am told they will leave a message and they can't send in a prescription. PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU SEE MORRISON. Morrison is the worst person i've ever came across in my life. I don't see her as a doctor at all and for me she is not for several reasons. I went in to do a simple milia removal after i've had a consultation with her. I told her specifically that I want the milia to be removed around my eyes since those are the ones that bother me the most. After I went home and was told to put ointment for a week on the spots that have been treated. After a week I saw the milia still there so I spoke with this woman Geena she was so rude saying "we removed the milia" when in fact they were still there. I sent images to them of the milia still there and was told to come back and morrison would take care of it. I recently moved to Miami Florida for college and explained to them that if i'm coming into town i need the milia to be absolutely removed this time, since I did pay $250. When i went back i saw PA Karen, and morrison looked directly at me and didn't even confront me as a professional. I was again told the milia would be removed from my eyes from PA Karen. I explained to them that it's very irritating and became reddish after they picked at it. PA Karen said don't worry i assure you they will be removed THIS TIME. I drive four hours back home and waited a week for the milia to heal. The milia is in the exact spots of where they were "treated". I mentioned Karen just to say that i've gone back several times; Although PA Karen was more kind than Morrison, I wouldn't recommend either of them. I called this morning to speak with morrison myself to explain to her my frustration, while this should've been removed the first time around. This phone call is the main reason i'm leaving one star for this place. I began telling her how irritating the milia has become to be from them picking at it and nothing being removed. She rudely cut me off like i'm some kind of child and not a regular patient. She began telling me we have removed the milia and pretty much just wasn't giving me the chance to speak. She said your obviously not happy with my work (which is true her work is complete shit) so go see a different doctor in Miami. I told her I can't just go see another doctor because no one excepts my insurance here and she starts to laugh saying "you don't need insurance, cosmetics are pay out of pocket". Which is ridiculous for anyone to say due to consultations that come beforehand. Mid Florida Dermatologist has the worst i individuals working for them and I will never step foot back into that place, since it seems they like to mess with people's skin and then when they get confronted they say "Go find another doctor".
