I tried to give this office the benefit of the doubt but its become extremely difficult. They play games with test results, will not let you have them over the phone. They direct you to a portal with files that don't upload and are unreadable. If you call to complain and ask to speak to anyone in charge they say nobody but clerical personnel are there that day. The whole point is to get you to come in for unnecessary appointments to tell you everything is fine, or you have negative results. You are supposed to have a legal right to your test results, apparently not here. read more

After my first visit, I was told to go out front and they would give me an appointment for my surgery. When I got up front, I was told they would call me. I expected a call in a day or two. It was over a week later when they called. Then it was another two weeks before the surgery. When I came to the desk after the surgery, I inquired about a nurse to come in to change the bandage since it was in the middle of my back. I was told the one they use, my insurance does not cover. When I got home I called my insurance, they in turn called the drs office, and gave them the name of a wound care facility where a nurse would come out. That Was Friday. Monday morning I called the drs office and they knew nothing about it. Tuesday someone called and said they would call my insurance company and get authorization, it may take a few days and she will call me. I did not hear anything that week. I stopped there Friday and Monday they were closed due to the holiday. Tuesday 2/17 I went there and told them I was very unhappy with the way they handled things, in trying to get me a nurse or someone to come in t0 change my bandage and apply ointment to my wound. After I left, I got a phone call telling me they did not know anything about what was going on, they only use one nursing facilty and my insurance company is out of network. I told her, if she would have bothered to speak to my insurance company they would have ok"d it. She apologized and asked if I still wanted her to call, I said do not bother, i am getting my stitched out next week. The doctor was ok, nice, pleasant, It was just the office I found very disorganized. No one knew what was going on. read more

I have a difficult time writing any bad reviews because my initial reaction is why spend more time thinking about a bad experience. However, I feel this one requires one because it might help someone down the road. First, I want to express that the actual clinical service provided was professional and cordial though the care I received was from a Nurse Practitioner and not a Doctor. The problem is with the office side of the business. They not only overcharged me substantially with good health insurance, they are at 45 days and counting waiting for a $200+ refund. The doctor recommended further treatments, but I changed to another doctor because I was distrustful of their intentions. Did I need the procedure or were they just using me as a source of income? Were my best interests their main concern? It certainly did not feel like that. Worse yet, when I was there for my initial follow up, another patient was complaining about overcharges as well. The odds of that tell me that this is an ongoing problem so beware of this company. read more

DO NOT GO To this poor excuse for a practice. I am disgusted with the entire practice, the unpleasant staff and especially the doctor who I never saw. I paid cash to see the dermatologist, and did not see one but just a PA whom had no clue what might be my issue. I then paid more to have a Biopsy which was sent to be tested in their "lab" and it took a month to get results. i came back to try and speak with the " dermatologist" who I was promised to see the first time and then guaranteed to see for my results without having to pay again, since the lady I saw had a high school education not pertaining to skin and I paid for a Specialist. My results were clearly a simple computer generated data sheet with basic information I already knew. Greed. i am still dealing with my issue and I don't have any more money to get the help I need. God will judge this filthy practice read more

OMG...Skin Dermatology with Dr. Wheeler and his outstanding staff is the only place to go for the highest quality of professional medical care in Palm Coast, FL. I am living proof that with the proper care from Dr. Wheeler that I beat CANCER. I had an area that needed looked at and Dr. Wheeler's staff checked me out and advised me that it was cancer. We setup an appointment, Dr. Wheeler preformed the surgery and removed my cancer. There was no pain at anytime, just a doctor and his staff showing compassion and care for their patient. read more

Very poor experience from office staff who don't understand basic insurance terms to being seen and told a culture would be sent off and back in 2 weeks and I would get a call... 4 weeks no call... call the office and staff says it will be another 4 to 6 weeks for results!!! - ... waited two days called back and ask for nurse... staff checked with nurse and staff said they don't give results over phone.. i said I had an appt 1 week out and was concerned that I was told 4 to 6 weeks further for wait - back on hold - was told again I have appt and have to wait... ask to speak to the nurse and she says we "don't call you if it is negative" - WHAT!!! - seriously ... then tells me its negative and they were going to review results on my visit... (so I can pay more $$$) - I said save yourself and me time - cancel the visit... So one would ask: 1. Why when there were results in my file would a staff say 4 to 6 weeks more? Poor training - customer service 2. Why when you are told by the PA it takes 2 weeks for results and we will call you - that you DON"T call me if negative? - Why make a patient wait and worry on a negative result? 3. Why have me come in and spend $$$ and time on a visit for a negative test? Moving on.... read more

His staff wasted our time because they didn't inform us that they no longer accepted out insurance. Although they had my e-mail, my phone number for work and cell, they didn't inform us until we arrived for the appointment. Sad business practice. read more

I had an appointment two weeks ago to remove a brown spot on my face. I was charged a little over $300 for a full body check and the removal. The brown spot was frozen and nothing happened. I made an appointment to go back and have them do it again because it never changed. They were going to charge me $130 for the office visit for the failed procedure. Do not go here. It would have taken someone five minutes to spray the small spot again. Bad customer service as far as I am concerned. read more

Went in to remove a "cist" from my back. Was never told the possibility of how terrible it could be afterwords. The stitches opened, and the only thing the doctor told me was: "i am sorry".. now i have a whole in my back that look 10x worse than before. Being not enough, they are now charging me 5 months later for a follow up that should have been free. Office manager has being busy for 2 months, never have time to talk to me to solve this issue. As President Trump would say, "You're Fired!" Worst Dermatologist I've ever been to. During my examine Dr. Wheeler spotted a small brown speck on my arm. I told him it was a speck of gel stain, that I had stained a door, yet he still reached for his can of freeze spray and blasted my arm before I even had a chance to say "stop!" I'm sure he charged Florida Blue for this unneeded medical procedure. His staff is incompetent and rude. They took 3 weeks to fill out a simple one page form for my medication and fax it, and only after I called several times to prompt them, and they still screwed up the form. When I called to inform them that they screwed up the paperwork, his receptionist was extremely rude to me, so at that point I fired Dr. Wheeler. read more

I was very disappointed with my experience with Skin Dermatology! The staff is nice and very competent, but Dr. Wheeler is terrible. He runs his office like a mill; treating 5 or 6 patients at the same time with 20 stacked up in the waiting room. He would not answer any questions and during my procedure, he kept leaving to treat other patients and then returning. My anesthetic wore off twice and when I told him I could feel the needle and the burn of the cauterizing, he said, "I'm almost done". I am left with a scar that looks terrible in a very visible spot. I felt like I was treated at a drive-thru: 'Get as many people in and out as quickly as possible and make lots of money.'. I will never return!!! read more
