I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Harvey Miller and his practice. From the moment I walked…read morein, it honestly felt like stepping back in time, in the absolute best way! It's an old-school, personal kind of care that you just don't experience very often anymore. Dr. Miller and his wife were both incredibly kind, warm, + genuine. They took the time to actually get to know me, asking about me and my background, and I never once felt rushed. You can immediately tell that they truly care about the people who walk through their door. Dr. Miller was extremely thorough and knowledgeable. Before seeing him, I had been to CityMD twice and had also gone to the ER. I had been prescribed antibiotics and then steroids, but I still wasn't feeling better and didn't really feel like anyone had gotten to the bottom of what was going on. Within a quick examination, Dr Miller identified that I had post nasal drip and then took the time to go through everything with me...my symptoms, the medications I had been taking, what I had been eating, and what could potentially be causing the hives I originally came to see him for. What stood out to me most was that he genuinely wanted to figure out what was going on rather than simply prescribe me something and send me on my way. He explained everything, answered my questions, and made me feel completely comfortable and reassured throughout the entire visit. It has only been about a week since my appointment, and I'm so happy to say my hives have gone away and I'm feeling so much better. There is something so wholesome and special about this practice. It reminded me of the kind of personal, attentive care that feels increasingly rare nowadays. Dr. Miller and his wife are genuinely lovely people, and I am so grateful I found them!! The office is a little cluttered and outdated, but I guess it suits its purpose. Dr. Miller is very personable, but a very chatty, so expect to be there for a couple of hours, and to wait if you're not the first appointment of the day. For my first appointment, I was there from 8pm to 11pm! This practice is cash only, and SAVE YOUR RECEIPTS. I just got a letter saying they are sending my "overdue payment" to collections, when I know for a FACT that I paid, since I never, ever leave anywhere owing money ... and never received a bill before the 2 letters I received. So, I'm kind of pissed off right now at office management, but the doctor's a nice guy.

I did so for Thu at 10 and was notified that I would be contacted shortly. I called again and no answer. I filled out my online questionaire. I tried calling Thu morning and no answer. Rather than paying for a missed appointment, I traveled to their office. I was told that my online entry was only a "request" even though the form said "Schedule Appointment". I was also told that Dr. Guida was not in that office on Thursdays even though the form allowed you to pick Thursday for the appoinment. I did not see the doctor. When asked about the phone calls, I was told they were "understaffed". Basically, the scheduling system is useless and they do not answer the phone number to which you're sent. It was a complete waste of time. I have no comments on Dr. Guida, just on the appointment process.

This hospital was once a dump however now its an amazing hospital. From my experience I was treated with the upmost respect and awesome service . Starting from the emergency room staff. I thought I would be sitting waiting for at least 4 hrs. Its was about 1 hour and I was called in. Unfortunately I wasn't feeling well, but the nurses and Dr took very good care of me. I had pneumonia didnt even know it. I was treated with the upmost care. From transport to food service, imaging reps to blood work reps , nurses on the floor were all great. Southside has improved a lot. I would recommend this hospital for care.

I stepped on a scissor which went through my foot. As I was on Fire island I had to be taken off by…read moreambulance boat and then by ambulance to the hospital. It was Friday at around 10:30 pm. The hospital was busy but not overly so. I was left in a hallway writhing in pain for about 3 hours. A police officer went and got me a sheet because he thought I looked cold. Nurse did not offer. A port for an IV was put in my arm and then I was just left there for hours. No pain meds. No attention. When I finally got to an er cubicle I was not offered a blanket, socks (I came in on an ambulance and was bare foot), or water. I had to urinate but they would not let me out of the bed so they handed me a bed pan. They did not help me to use it and they never came to take it away. Thankfully my husband put it on the floor. They brought me wet wipes but nothing to dry myself with. I had to use the sheet the officer gave me. I was never offered a blanket but my husband was able to get me one. I was in horrible pain for at least 4 hours. My husband asked for pain meds but was told they couldn't give anything until the doctor came. Finally they were able to give me pain meds. I showed them the port in my left arm and they said I didn't need it and did not know why it was put in. They also gave me a tetanus shot, the site of which is bruised and still swollen and painful. Finally they came to stitch me up. She poured a liquid on my foot. Left for about 10 minutes and then came back and did it again. There was blood all over my foot which they never cleaned. The doctor gave me lidocaine shots and tested the area to see if I could feel anything, which I could not, so she started stitching right away instead of waiting a while to make sure the inside was also numb. I felt every needle poke, threading, and tying and it was extremely painful. She kept telling me not to move and to keep my foot upright. It was so swollen that I could move neither my toes nor my foot but it was impossible not to jerk feeling every single stitch. I don't know why no one was there to hold my foot in the position she needed. When I was finally released they told me to keep it dry for 24 hours and to change the dressing the next day. I could not walk so we asked for a wheelchair. They did not help me in to the chair and told my husband that they do not wheel the patients out. He would have to do it himself. Then I asked how I was supposed to walk and they asked if I wanted crutches. I said I did. They asked me my height so they could adjust them. When I went to use them they were dangerously too short and I almost fell several times until someone we knew adjusted them properly. We arrived at about 10:30 and were not released until around 4 am. I went to my doctor who told me they did not do a great job but he did not think it was worth redoing. He asked me if the wound was irrigated on the inside once the lidocaine was given. I do not think it was because they started stitching immediately. He completely cleaned my foot, including all the dried blood that the hospital never cleaned, and redressed the wound. Also said not to get it wet. Terrible experience. We have a house in Fire island. If anything happens again I will never go back there. I wish they had taken me to Good Samaritan.

He basically dismissed my concerns. my son who is 22 has acne on his chest, back, and arms. He prescribed body wash and gel cream. Said it would probably take 12 weeks to show a difference, but then said to follow up in a month. Why? So he can see him for 5 minutes and charge us? Then when I got bills for our co-pays, I paid them only to get a new bill for both a month later. Both payments cleared my account before the new bill was issued. Now I've been trying to call the billing service for 3 days and it's always busy. I've called over 20 times and I can't get through. I hate this office!!! total incompetence!!!!!!

Dr. Nick saved my life!! I needed clearance for a upcoming surgery . The Cardiologist I saw for…read moreclearance just cleared me with no testing. That's when I decided to change my Cardiologist to Dr. Nick, he would not clear me unless I had the proper testing done. The results of that test showed I could have had a heart attack / or worse do to major blockages in my heart..blockages I was unaware of.. Dr. Nick answered all my questions, reassured me that i would be ok, and made the arrangements for me to see a surgeon. Everything Dr. Nick did saved my life. I recommend Dr.Nick from Heart and Health 100% if you want a Cardiologist who knows what he's doing and does it in a caring manner. Thank you Dr. Nick for saving my life. I am forever grateful.
