Turns out they were using outdated GIS information that didn't rely on actual GPS to set the coordinates. We finally won our lawsuit. The town ended up giving us a variance so that we wouldn't have to tear our pole barn down. That's the whole reason we have the survey in the first place. Cost tons of money. But now we're going to go after Apex because they were found liable.

Within the…read morelast two months Kodiak changed water providers, which has resulted in an increase in our water bills. There was previously a full-time manager who lived in the community. Currently the manager is here one day a week, because they also manage two other communities that are several miles from Bay City. That lack of management has caused a lack of attention to maintenance of such things as street lights being repaired (there are currently at least five that are not working, some of which have had live/hot wires in them) which is a safety concern for residents of the approximate 250 homes in the community. Residents are responsible for mowing their lawns. There is general neglect in the maintenance of the property by Kodiak. Fortunately, the residents are more concerned about the community than Kodiak Property Management is. Residents are friendly and help one another. There have been at least four managers in less than three years, and the office has changed locations several times. People who are interested in information about Westwood Village have been unable to find the manager or contact them by phone. The sign in front of Westwood has had burned out light bulbs and peeling paint for several years, and contributes to the sign of neglect by the management company, especially in light of the increased lot rent.
