I came in on Monday 11/20 via appointment to get another row of honu (sea turtles) added to my forearm. This is my tradition for my last day on the island every time I come to Maui. My previous Honu tattoos came from a shop in Lahaina that has unfortunately burnt down. Brandy was my artist and I have zero complaints. She was polite, respectful, took her time and did an amazing job. It didn't even hurt that much. Totally didn't feel like she was "digging for gold" like some of my other tattoos. Got my first [professional] tattoo done at this shop, by Bry Smith - December 12th, 2019. For reference, it's about 3inx3in, on my left forearm. I'd FOR SURE recommend her if you're getting your first tattoo done, or if you just want a really high quality tattoo; I could obviously ell that tattooing is her passion. WAITING FOR AN APPOINTMENT BY HER IS WORTH IT. She blew me away with the simple idea I gave her, because she took the photo I sent her and made it better. She did amazing. One of my favorite things about my piece is that there's a shadow from his sash across his stomach. She took a lot of care and precision but still gave me what I wanted. Before the session started, she printed out multiple sizes of the tattoo and let me play around with the placement, and she was all for it when I mentioned that I wanted to add the blue framing around him. Besides the amazing tattoo, she's a very accommodating and considerate person. As stated before, it was my first professional tattoo, and she made me very comfortable - as comfortable as I can be for getting stabbed with needles for almost 2 hours. If you're worried about the cleanliness of this shop, I'd say it's very clean - almost immaculate. I personally could tell that the shop is cleaned frequently, well taken care of and is very modern, as in you're not walking back to the 80's when you enter. The area where we sat to work was very clean. Bry took a noticeable amount of time prepping/cleaning, and cleaned her surroundings (and my tattoo) as she went along. If you care, she even took her gloves off and changed them halfway through the tattoo. Long story short: - Bry is an amazing artist. I'm recommending her to everyone: first time tattoo and tattoo veterans. - The shop was very clean - I'm in love with my tattoo - I would definitely come back. The only thing that I would change about my experience is the fact that I don't live in Maui, so I can't go every week! Lol read more

The whole experience was weird. My husband and I booked to get tattoos on our honeymoon in Maui. Our artist had our design, a simple sun and moon. I told Brandy I wanted a small one and she said "I can't go any smaller." I was confused since I have many small single needle tattoos. Then she proceeds to comment on my arm tattoos and how "they are too small and will blur together in a few years." She then says "there was miscommunication" and "that's just how tattoos work." I was so disappointed and then she said I couldn't get my $50 deposit back even though it was her fault she can't do fine line! I couldn't believe it. I went to their company yelp page and see the awful tattoos that they have done and bad reviews. I didn't trust her to tattoo anything on my body, however she had already startled on my husband. On vacation for a wonderful week just before my 42nd birthday and decided I wanted my first tattoo. So to Yelp I came to find my person. After narrowing it down to two places, I walked into this place and ended up talking to Desmond. I was nervous and am happy to say that Desmond was great. He didn't make me feel like a silly newbie. He put me at ease and we booked my appointment for a few days later. I showed up for my appointment and enjoyed the banter between all the employees. I've wanted a tattoo for a while and while visiting Maui with my husband, I decided to get a tattoo of Plumerias on my hip. I love the flower and it has special meaning because Maui is where my husband and I spent our honeymoon and where we like to visit. We visited another shop in Lahina and then after researching online, went to Mid Pacific Tattoos and talked to the staff there. We read great things about Tommy and were told we could find him at the Kihei shop so we went there. Tommy was very professional and welcoming. Camila was awesome and helped us get it scheduled before we had to leave the island. We gave them the ideas we had and they went to work researching different ideas and artwork for the tattoo while we waited for the day of my appointment. The preparation was impressive by Tommy and his staff. They came up with an amazing piece of artwork that Tommy then created the perfect design from. Tommy then created a stencil to make sure it was what I wanted, transferred it to the location on my body for the tattoo to make sure I was comfortable with the location and size of the tattoo, and just to make sure filled in the stencil transfer with pen with all the detail. We went ahead with the tattoo based on that design and the finished product is better than I could have imagined. It was my first tattoo and Tommy made the whole experience great and I cannot say enough about the high quality of his work and creativity. I would recommend Mid Pacific Tattoo and Tommy because I was so happy with the experience, skill, professionalism and the cleanliness of his shop really made an impression.
